DILLON, Sally Mary Marcella -

After a courageous battle with cancer, Sally (Mary Marcella) Dillon, originally from Trenton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2014 in her 74th year.

She was loved and supported by her close friends and family throughout her long struggle with cancer until the end.

Sally will be missed by her two children, Victor William von Buchstab (Aysha) and Mary Ellen Le Bouedec (Pierre Michel) and her grandchildren, Melanie, Matisse, William and Kieron. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, James Thomas (Mary), Robert (Carol) and sister Norah Catherine, Mary Ann (Donney) and the extended Dillon family in Trenton.

Sally was an active member and friend of the Runnymede Baptist Church and the Toronto Horticultural Society.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., at the Swansea Town Hall Residence party room, 93 Lavinia Avenue (next to the Swansea Town Hall) on Saturday, April 26th.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Princess Margaret Hospital Palliative Care and Oncology Unit for their kindness and excellent care; and the numerous friends who visited and supported Sally throughout this time.

Another celebration of her life will be held for friends and family in Trenton at a later date.

Beloved wife of the late Louis Knack. Devoted mother to Richard Knack & his wife Margaret of Edmonton, AB, Susan Pomerleau & her late husband Oscar of Belleville and predeceased by son Martin Knack of Edmonton.

Dear grandma to Nicole, Paul, Katie, Andrew, Amanda and Brady. Survived by her sister Jean Drury of Stevenage, England.

Betty was a 55 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #110, Trenton, Worked at the Trenton Library for over 30 years and member of St. George's Anglican, Trenton for over 60 years.

At Betty's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. George's Anglican Church, 9 Byron Street, Trenton on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #110 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Crown Ridge Retirement Home for all their care and compassion while Betty was with you.

In her 80th year, she was the beloved wife of the late Paul Ostroskie. Together, they were active members of the Maynooth community, where they raised their children.  She was the beloved mother to: Geraldine Fitzpatrick (Ted Fitzpatrick) of Kelowna, BC; Dianne Stire (Gord Stire) of Belleville, ON; Paul Ostroskie of Port Hope, ON; Paulette Ostroskie (Steve Gaskin) of Oshawa, ON; Gilbert (Sylvia) Ostroskie of Oshawa, ON; May-Lou O’Donnell (Tom O’Donnell) of Cobourg, ON; Bryan Ostroskie (Lisa Kmith) of Cobourg, ON.

Eileen loved to laugh and she shared this love with each of her grandchildren. She will be missed by: Melissa Stire, Tyler Stire, Robert Ostroskie, Kerrie Ostroskie, Wendy Delher, Lucy Ostroskie, Cheri Peard-Ostroskie (Jay Peard), Travis Ostroskie (Sarah-Rose Treagus), Shawna Ward (Nick Bemma), Bobbie Vincent (Matt Vincent), Kristen Fox (Kevin Fox), Katelynn Ostroskie, and 12 great grand-children.

Eileen was the second eldest of many brothers and sisters.  She is survived by: Charles Minnie of Madoc, ON; Dorthy Ellis (Ken Ellis) of Keswick, ON; Carolynn-Minnie of Huntsville ON; Clara Curtis (Donald Curtis) of Keswick, ON; Allan Minnie (Jeannie Minnie) of Brighton, ON; Linda Ellis of Keswick, ON,  and she will be joining her predeceased siblings: Eunice Ostroskie, Marie Baumhour, Guy Minnie, and Melvin Minnie. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends were Eileen’s passion and delight. Eileen requested a celebration of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Moses Nwosu presiding. Interment in the spring.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last illness.

Donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Maynooth and Area Food Bank. Eileen’s greatest joy was to feed people.

Thompson_HazelBorn in Sudbury, Ontario on March 12, 1923 and died peacefully at the age of 91 years at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on April 18, 2014 in the presence of family.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Ralph (Tommy) to whom she was married for 67 years. Devoted and loving mother to Patricia (John), Barbara (Ron), Debora (Gary), Bonnie, Gary (Annette) and Marion.

Remembered by her grandchildren; Paul (Dee), Clare (Jim), Marc (Meaghan), Andrew (Hilary), David (Sarah), Amber, Sarah (Jack), Emily, Melissa, Sean, Kara, Scott and her great grandchildren; Robert, Alexis, Samuel, Cameron and Thomas.

Hazel joined the RCAF Women's Division (6 RD) in 1943 where she met her husband. Tommy stayed in the forces after the war and they raised their 6 children in several parts of Canada, from Greenwood to Comox to Inuvik. Their last posting was CFB Trenton and they chose to enjoy their retirement in this community.

At the age of 56, Hazel attended Loyalist College and completed her training as a Health Care Aide. Throughout her life Hazel took an active interest in her community and volunteered her time in a variety of programs. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #110.

The family appreciates the compassionate and excellent care Hazel received from the staff at Belleville General Hospital and the Trenton Memorial Hospital.

The Funeral ceremony will be held in Trenton on Wednesday, April 23rd with reception to follow. Canon Thora Rowe officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Hazel's memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, St. George's Church or the Trenton Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Beloved wife of the late Gordon. Loving mother of Ellen of Toronto, and Doug and his wife Helen of Big Island, predeceased by Garnet, Elaine, and James.

Dear grandmother of Dianne, Karen Morton (Chris), Ken (Niki), and Amy, great grandmother of Keira, Katie, and Rebecca-Jane. Sister of Iona Wager. Sister-in-law to Jean Thompson, Mary Pringle and Donna Treverton.

Predeceased by sister Margaret Jones and brother Don Thompson. Winnifred will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of life service will be held at Picton Free Methodist Church on Tuesday April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin Stenhouse and Pastor Dennis Pringle officiating. Spring Interment. Friends are welcome to visit at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time.

If desired, donations to the Pregnancy Crisis Centre of P.E.C. and QYFC/Youth Unlimited P.E.C. would be appreciated (cheques only please).

Jean was the beloved wife of 60 years, of the late Cletus Dyer. She was a loving mother to Ted Dyer (Carol) of Trenton, Barry Dyer (Janine) of Joyceville, Penny Conrad (Steve) of Trenton and Pam MacEachern (Ken) of Cold Lake, AB.

Jean was also a loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren; Carrie Chapman (Stuart), Lisa Marroquin (Chris), Laura and Sarah Dyer, Mollie and Andrew Conrad. She is predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Carrie Waite and her sister Muriel George.

She is survived by 2 nieces; Joanne Slater and Nancy George and a nephew; Garry George.

The funeral ceremony will be held in Trenton on Wednesday, April 23rd. Interment at Carrying Place.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Quinte Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
