Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 428, Tweed on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2pm.

Interment of Ashes at a later date.

Douglas Ernest Fairman of Trenton, in his 89th year, passed away suddenly at his home.

Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Elma Fairman. Beloved husband of the late Norma Fairman. His cherished children are Gary Fairman and his wife Nancy, Gail Wiles and her husband Warren, Steven Fairman and his partner Patrick, and Rick Fairman and his wife Anne Marie.

Dear grandfather to Jennifer Salter, Lindsay St. Hill, Leanne and Lisa Wiles and Shannon, Kaylee and Morgan Fairman.

Sadly missed by his dear friend Joan Scholes. Survived by his siblings Freda Fairman, Ray Fairman (deceased) (late Madeline), and Wayne Fairman and his wife Judy.

Cremation has taken place. Private graveside service.

Frances will be missed by her 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Maryke (Ryk) and her sister-in-law Harmke, all of Holland. Predeceased by her brother Geert.

A Celebration of Frances’s life will be held on Friday, October 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Bloomfield. Pastor Gregg Lawson officiating. A private interment has taken place.

Wade_IdaOn Monday, October 20, 2014, Elevena (Ma) Ida Wade, aged 92, of Trenton, Ontario, wife of the late Cecil R. Wade, passed peacefully at the home of her loving granddaughter Patty Wade, husband Joey Garofano and beloved great-grandson Patrick.

She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxillary branch 110.

Her life had its share of struggles, and we were happy to be able to provide her peace, happiness and joy in her final days.

She will be missed dearly by Patty, Joey and Patrick, her beloved nieces and nephews, as well as many friends from the Legion and Bingo. Her indomitable spirit will be remembered very fondly by all who knew her.

A celebration of Elevena’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 3:00 PM, at the home of Patty and Joey, Trenton, Ontario.

James is survived by his brother Peter Zamanis of Belleville. Predeceased by sister Georgina Papadopoulos and brother Anthony “Tony” Zamanis.

James is loved and will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbours.

Funeral service will be held from the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday, October 23rd at 11:00a.m. Father Anatoliy Bandura officiating. Interment to follow.

Nettie was predeceased by sons Robert and Gary, and by 14 brothers and sisters and one grandchild.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Susanne Brownlee; by two brothers, Ernest (Freda) Scott and Larry (Donna) Scott, both of the Kingston area; and by ten grandchildren.

The visitation and service will be at Calvary Temple on Tuesday, October 21st. Interment will follow in Plainfield.

In her 83rd year, Brigitte died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 18, 2014.

Brigitte will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 56 years Wolfgang - who provided constant care and companionship in a very difficult last year, her son Ron (Anne), her daughter Cornelia (Bryan Kneel) and grandchildren Madeline, Matthew and Justin.

Predeceased by her brother Sigfried Zenker and sadly missed by her brother Eberhard Zenker (Siggy), her nieces and their families.

Ever remembered by grandchildren Cory (Jen), Tina, Dan (Danielle), and Cher (Ken) and his seven great-grandchildren Miaya & Madison, Blake, Haylee & Ethan, Hanna & Ryan.

Lew will also be sadly missed by in-laws Bernadette, Luella (Roger), Doreen, Eileen (Ray) and Gaius (Joanne). Predeceased by in-laws Mansel, Earl, Florn, Sandra and Adele. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Lew was involved with the Scouts for many years, he was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Friends and family are invited to St. Mark’s Church, Cannifton on Monday, October 20th from 1-2pm for a visitation. A service will follow at 2pm. Interment will be in Corbyville. A luncheon to follow at St. Mark’s Church.

HAWKES, Heather (Hedy) Margaret -

Hedy passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, Ontario on October 15, 2014.

Hedy was born in 1925 in Bognor Regis, England and following several years of service in the WRNS towards the end of World War II she emigrated to Canada in 1954 on the Samaria-Cunard.

Her many interests led her to receive a BA Degree in Anthropology from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. She was a long-standing volunteer with many organizations including the Canadian Legion (Stirling, ON), the Peterborough Centennial Museum and the Seed Sanctuary in Kingston to name a few.

She was the youngest of four siblings and was an aunt to numerous nephews and nieces located around the world. Hedy's quick wit and eye for a bargain will be sadly miss by all of us.

Cremation. A private family ceremony will be held shortly.
