Dearly loved husband of Gertrude Currie. Dear father of Doug and Derek, both of Belleville. Wonderful stepfather to Karen (Paul) Hinze of Tweed, Christine Hunt (Jason), Mike Dunn (Penny) all of Belleville.

Proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Elizabeth Currie formerly of Toronto.

He will be sadly missed by his many in-laws, nephews and nieces.

In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.

Somerville_Marc(1939 - 2013) - It is with profound sadness that we announce Marc's death on Tuesday, March 12th, 2013.

He leaves his loving wife and partner of fifty years, Joan (Graham) and the children he was so proud of, Jeffrey (Patti Harris), Erinn (Matt Williams), and Graeme (Marla McLean), as well as his much loved grandsons, Kieran and Will. He will be greatly missed by his brother David (Denise Biron).

Marc was born in Toronto and lived in Rockwood, Toronto, Cambridge, Ottawa, and Prince Edward County. Alumnus of Victoria College (1962) and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law (1965). He served as President of the University of Toronto Students’ Administrative Council, was Editor of The Law Review and was awarded the Dean’s Key. He was appointed a QC in 1982.

Marc practised civil litigation for over 40 years at Simmers, Edwards, Jenkins and Gowling Lafleur Henderson. He served as managing partner of the Kitchener Office of Gowlings and, after his move to Ottawa, Head of the CMPA Provincial Counsel Group.

Always passionate about politics, Marc was a candidate for the NDP provincially in 1971 and federally in 1979. He was elected to the Galt and Cambridge City Councils and served on the first Council of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. Marc was a Director of The Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada from 1990 to 2009.

As a lawyer, Marc served his profession as a member of the Provincial Council of the Canadian Bar Association and was twice elected a Bencher of The Law Society.

Marc and Joan retired to Prince Edward County in 2009, where Marc savoured the time to woodwork, bird, travel, garden and enjoy friendships, old and new.

Arrangements out of Picton. A celebration of Marc's life will take place on Sunday, March 24th from 2-4pm at The Waring House, Picton. Cremation will take place with interment in Cambridge.

Deborah Swanson of Hastings Highlands, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Frederick, daughters; Danielle Sweeney (Jake Wen) of Orangeville, Courtney Sweeney (John Gallagher) of Moncton N.B., Amanda Sweeney (Adrian Hyde) of Hamilton, her son Spencer Swanson at home, and her grandchildren Paige, Lucas, Gabriel and Leo.   

Deborah is also survived by her beloved sisters Patricia (Norman) Groshek and Paula (Patrick) Flanigan all of Flushing, Michigan. Fondly remembered by family in Michigan and Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Mary Norko of Flint Michigan and son Evan John Swanson. 

Deborah was a proud volunteer at the Heritage Shoppe in Bancroft. She took great joy in her friends and co-workers. 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Deborah’s life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

John was a very proud father, an avid fisherman. He was fearless and loved his family and friends. He was a person with a lot of integrity who would give anyone what he had, if they asked. 

John was born and raised in Maynooth, and he lived in Peterborough, but Maynooth was always home. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Friday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Moses Nwosu Presiding.  Cremation to follow.  John’s ashes will be interred in the spring.

Daughter of the late Walter and Thelma Wolthausen. Beloved wife of Cyril Patrick “Pat“ Hayes. Loving mother of Norman, Rita, Debbie, Valery, and Colleen.

Survived by her sisters Barbara Joan Rodger and Carole Wilson. She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and all who knew her.

The family expresses a special thank you to the Forth Floor staff of Belleville Hospital, Charlotte Sills Wing for the loving care they provided her.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held in Belleville on Saturday, March 16th.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2013, shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday.

She was born and raised in Belleville, Ontario.  She married in 1935 and moved to Oshawa. Guelph was her home from the early 40's until September 2012, when she moved to Holland Christian Homes in Brampton to be closer to her relatives.

She delighted in her pets and loved to be outdoors to enjoy all of nature. Singing was a passion from a very young age. She was an early member of the Barbershop Belles, and then sang in the Sweet Adelines for 25 years.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Ken, and survived by her sister Bette Story, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service in Guelph on March 15th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Guelph Humane Society, 500 Wellington Street West, Guelph, Ontario N1H 6L3 would be appreciated.

Daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret Phillips. Beloved wife of the late Royden Leonard Dunn.

Dear mother of James Dunn (wife Jenny) of Cornwall, Norma Netko (late husband Marian) of Ingleside, and Dorothy Stevenson (husband Frank) of Belleville. Predeceased by her sister Alleena, and by her brothers Gordon, Ross and Lorne.

Loved by her grandchildren Karen, Donald, Richard, Gordon, Cheryl, Gail, Susan, late Eric, by her 13 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Also, she will be fondly remembered by her several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place in Belleville on Tuesday, March 12th. Reverend Brenda Timpson officiating. Interment in Chateauguay, Quebec in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Children’s Hospitals would be appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. The family invites family and friends for a memorial gathering in Trenton, Ontario on Saturday, March 23th.

Loving daughter of the late Hubert and Nettie West. Beloved wife of the late Norman Jones. Fondly remembered by her loving children Reginald Jones (Gail), and Norma Elaine (deceased).

Proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Survived by her siblings Irene, Doreen, and Arthur. Predeceased by her sister Mary, and brothers Maxwell and Gerald. Also remembered by her sister-in-law Bernice.

A special thanks goes out to cousin Gordon and Violet Preston for their loving attention in time of need.

In keeping with Lois’s wishes, a memorial graveside service will be held in Corbyville on Wednesday, March 13th.

Survived by his sister Sylvia Gage of Ottawa. Predeceased by his sisters Doris, Doreen and brother Douglas Rendell.

Ever remembered by his grandchildren Andrew (Marlena), Sarah and Stephen Murray, Emily and Ethan Rendell-Watson, his step grandchildren Jane Hannon, Joshua, Jacob and Luke Riley-Janzen, and great grandson Michael David Murray.

Funeral service will be held in Belleville on Saturday, March 16th. Cremation has taken place.
