Much loved mother of Jane (Mark) Ferguson, Linda (Joey) Forrestal, Barry (Peggy) Peters, Frank Peters, Peggy (Brian) Jeffrey, Mike (Karen) Peters, Pat (Mark) Peters, Christina (Jason) Northey and predeceased by her son Joseph and daughter Kelly Schumacher.

Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her sisters Margaret, Alice, Bernice and Lottie and by her brothers Leonard and Francis. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Suddenly in his 80th year, a cancer survivor.

Devoted Husband of Gwen Bryant for over 55 years.

Proud Father of Tim, Todd (Cheryl), Ted (Terri) and Terry. Beloved Grandfather of Nikki (Cody), Steven (Clara) Tyler (Eric) Scott (Meghan) and Sarah; their “Grandpa Smurf”.

At Bob’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 27th at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 20 Church St., Pickering Village from 6 - 9 p.m.

Bob was a volunteer firefighter for more than 38 years beginning with Pickering Village Fire then the Ajax Fire Department. His professional career included more than 29 years with the Toronto Transit Commission.

A proud hockey Dad, he drove us around the province for games and tournaments with our involvement with the Pickering Village Minor Hockey Association. He was an avid snowmobiler and a volunteer with the Haliburton County Snowmobile Association for many, many years. He enjoyed family dinners and our usually lively get togethers.

He liked to play cards and loved his poker games. He will be missed by his hunting camp buddies and all that knew him.

Burchall_SpencerIt is with great sadness that we announce his unexpected passing at the age of 42, on Sunday, November 16th, 2014.

Spencer is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Carol (nee Jowitt), his mother Sandy and brothers Lee (Lisa) Burchall and Kevin Burchall. Beloved uncle of Gage, Kaelem and Lane Burchall, Katelyn Burchall, Kate and Andrew Giles, and Caleb and MacKenzie Jowitt.

Predeceased by his father Herbert (Peter) Burchall (2004).

Spencer was a longtime employee of Livingston International, Toronto and an avid snowmobiler and boater in the Lindsay area. He made lifelong connections through his many friendships and family and will be missed by all who were truly blessed to have him in their lives.

He is loved and will be missed by his children, Carol (Val), Paul (Anne Marie), Leslie (Gerry) and Jim and grandchildren Morgan, Nicole, Jeff, Robin, Laura and Jamie. Cherished great grandfather of Jayde, James, Chloé, Maya, Alaina and Jase. He will be remembered always by Mel (Joyce), Ron (Betty) and Stan (Barb) and his extended family and friends. James is predeceased by his brother John and grandson Eric James.

Beloved husband of 48 years to Lois Horgan nee Vout, father of Deanna Horgan Arenovich(Jeff) and Tim Horgan(Meagan).

Predeceased by his sister Kathy Soenen and his father John and mother Phyllis and stepfather Alex Ramsey. Loving grandfather of Stefan and Markus Arenovich, Gavynn Brent, Elliott Horgan, and Finnigan Horgan.

Don was a proud supporter of the Northumberland Humane Society where he met the other love of his life Taffy the cat, he was also a longtime supporter of Legion minor softball, Whiskey Jacks baseball, and the Kawartha Kavaliers drum corps.

A celebration of Horgy's life will be held at Kelly's Homelike Inn upstairs at the Bus Stop on Saturday, November 22nd from 1 until 4.

Doreen will be forever remembered by her siblings; Ray Cameron of Scarborough, Helen Hughes, Audrey Tamlin of Cameron and is pre-deceased by their spouses; Lil Cameron, Charlie Wensley, Brock Hughes and Earl Tamlin.

The Memorial Service will be held in Fenelon Falls, on Saturday, November 22nd. Interment will be held in the spring.

Pringle_DonaldIt is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Don, at his home in Lindsay, Ontario in his 82nd year.

Loving dad to Kimberlee Pringle, Danny Pringle (predeceased in 2008), Kellee Giglio (Ed), and Laura Hunter. Cherished grandpa to Victoria, Luke, Adam, Katie, Tanya, Tracey, Susan, Derek and Sean. Will be very sorely missed by his companion Joan Boddaert. Survived by his brothers David Pringle and Bruce Pringle (Cathy), and predeceased by his wife Doreen Waldroff. Don will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Upon Dad’s retirement he enjoyed cycling, cross country skiing and travelling. In his later years he renewed his love for woodcarving, carving beautiful figurines, many showing his unique sense of humour and archery, making his own bows and arrows. Dad cherished his time spent in Haliburton, first during his childhood and again later at the beautiful cabin he and Joan shared at Shadow Woodlands. Dad lived life to the fullest and had a passion for adventure.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements out of Lindsay.

Dorothy worked for S.S. Kresge for 20 years before working for the Solicitor General's Office as a Purchasing Officer for the OPP for 25 years.

Loved and missed by her sister Dorothy Strongitharm.

Predeceased by her brother Harold Ashton (Lena) and sisters Ethel Ashton, Stella Ashton and Pearl Fry (Joe). Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held in Bobcaygeon, on Wednesday, November 19th.  A private family interment will follow.

Dear sister of Isabelle Porter (the late Ken), Margaret Reed (Eric), May Lever (the late Al) and predeceased by Andy Gillespie (the late Eleanor), Dick Gillespie (the late Jenny) and Barbara Goodall (the late Arthur).

Sadly, and surrounded by his loving wife and children, Howard Stewart Lee passed away on November 13th, 2014.

Howard was a longtime resident of Unionville where he was a Real Estate Broker and developer and also a coach in the Unionville Minor Hockey League.  

Amongst his numerous accomplishments was his Bronze Olympic Medal from the 1956 Olympics as a valuable member of the men's Canadian Hockey Team.

Howard's biggest passion in life was his family and the cottage in Haliburton, surrounded by Marg and all the kids and grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 63 years Margaret. Children Debbi and the late Lorne, Cathi and Mike, Howie and Linda, Patti and Garry, Jim and Stephanie. Grandchildren Matthew, Lorne, Debbi-Lynne, Ryan, Sarah, Colt, Jessica, Maggie, Jaimi, Jake, Letisha, Jazmin, Rylee, Sydney, Kelsey, and Dylan. Howard also had four great-grandchildren. 

Memorial service will be held in Uxbridge on Sunday, November 16th.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Tire Jump-Start Program would be greatly appreciated.

Much-loved son of mother Angela and predeceased by his father Mauro. Beloved brother of Ross, Joe (Joanne), and Steve (Linda). Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Stephanie, Joel, Alysa, Daniel and Nicholas. Frank was also loved by his aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends.

A special thanks to the nurses in Ross Memorial's Palliative Care Unit for their upstanding care and compassion. 

Service will be held in Thornhill, on Monday, November 17th.

With his family by his side on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Lakeridge Health Port Perry, we delivered Richard into the waiting arms of those who predeceased him; his mother Isabell and father Fred along with his brother Bob.

Richard is survived by his wife Daniela Galante-Pye, son Allan (Kathleen), daughter Tonya (Scott), stepsons Paul (Zoe), Tony (Karyn), and Eric (Katie), and was Grandpa Pye to Alex, Anthony, Adam and Emma. He will be remembered always by his brothers Ted, and Wayne.

We are grateful for the care he received in the last weeks of his life from Home Care Lindsay and the Nurses and Doctors of Port Perry Hospital. Their kindness and support was unwavering.

Memorial visitation will be held in Lindsay on Tuesday, November 18th. As per Richard’s request, there will not be a Funeral Service.

Remembered always and loved by his brothers David and Michael and by his mother-in-law Dorelle Baker.

Predeceased by his much loved son Anthony (2011), his sweet angel goddaughter Kalie (2014), his much missed brothers Tom (2006), Larry (2009) and his parents Mike (2008) and Connie (2007).

Rod was the loved husband of Laurie Jewell for 33 years. Loving and proud father of his daughter Terra and son Jeremy.

Rod is the beloved son of Allen and Nora Kaufman and son-in-law of Barry and Marj Jewell. He will be greatly missed by his brother Mike Kaufman and survived by his brothers-in-law David Jewell and Richard Langley and Aunt Barb (Mrs. Tom Tozios).

His faithful companions Missy and Remi are sure to miss his regular attention.

A celebration of Rod's life will be held in Lindsay on Monday, November 17th. Private family interment of cremated remains to take place.

Stan was the beloved husband of Charlotte for 48 years.

Loving father of Kathy (Martin Kotchie) and Kym. Proud Poppy of Samuel and Joseph Ranger, Matt and Kyle Kotchie.

Predeceased by his parents, Alexia and Stanley Hines and his sister Linda Milkovich. Brother of Tom (Bermuda). Special uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Our journey allowed us to walk amongst angels – our daughter Kathy and her husband (Martin), Patti McGill, Kathy Younker, Jen Connor, Roxanne Gibson, Valerie Taylor, Theresa Ralph, Aka, our friends and neighbours who gave our wings the ability to fly when we deemed it impossible.

"A man who gave so much of himself for others, taking little in return."  Harold passed in peace on the morning of November 9, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer.  He was surrounded with love by members of his family. 

He is predeceased by his mother Myrtle (Ireland), father Harry, brother Robert (Clare), sister Margaret Crough (Clarence) and longtime friend and companion Helen Perry (Conway). 

He is survived by siblings Vernabelle Vannebo (Norman), Evelyn Holden (Roy), Douglas (Heather), Beatrice O’Regan (Bill), Roydon (Leslie) and Thomas (Pam), children Janice Coppaway (George) and Murray, grandchildren Timothey, Breanna Knott (Jordan), Samantha Taylor (Dave), Cameron, Wesley, Callum and Kyle, and great-grandchldren James and Blake.  Special mention to Helen’s children Jeff, Janice, Charlene and Marlene and their families. 

Harold enlightened the lives of those he touched, and will be dearly missed by all. 

Arrangements out of Peterborough. In accordance to Harold’s wishes, cremation to take place. We would like to welcome everyone to the Celebration of Life service at the Buckhorn Community Centre on December 7th from 1:00PM - 4:00PM.

Kozak_DorisOur dear mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2014 with three of her daughters, Diane Jung and her husband John (Lindsay, ON), Elizabeth Kozak (Victoria, B.C.) and Susan MacDonald (Lacombe, AB), at her side.

Doris in her 91st year was the devoted wife of the late John Kozak. Loving parents to all of their children: Danny Kozak (Port Perry, ON), Larry Kozak (Lindsay, ON), Deborah Kozak (Toronto, ON) and Michael Kozak (Vancouver, B.C.)

She will be missed by her 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Doris grew up and lived most of her married life in Campbellton, New Brunswick and retired with her husband John in Lindsay, Ontario. Doris loved to dress up and enjoyed attending community choir, Armory dances, her walks and travels.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Lindsay on Wednesday, November 12th. Private family interment to take place.

The Family would like to express heartfelt thanks for her years of exemplary care by Dr. Ready, the Director and caring staff of Extendicare Nursing Home, Kawartha Lakes.

Memorial donations to the Salvation Army Lindsay would be appreciated by the family.

Service will be held in Minden, on Wednesday, November 12th.

Lifetime member of Newcastle United Church, retired supervisor of General Motors, member of Newcastle Lions Club, member of Durham Lodge #66 A.F.A.M. and member of Newcastle Rate Payers Association.

Loving husband of Pearl Rickard for 51 years.

Devoted father of Jeff Rickard (Crystal McLachlin) and Janice Scheffee (Greg). Adoring grandfather of Morgan, Nathan, Joshua and Matthew. Step grandfather of Kade and Braeden.

Dave will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Frank and Clara Rickard; brother John (Charlotte), sisters Dorothy (Charles), Evelyn (John) and Jean (Clare).

Funeral service will be held at Newcastle United Church, 84 Mill St. S., Newcastle on Wednesday, November 12th at 11am with cremation to follow.

A reception will be held immediately after the service at the Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Ave. West, Newcastle.

Stacey_RobertOf Kirkfield, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Friday, November 7th, 2014.

He passed away peacefully at home on Balsam Lake with his two children, Erika Underhill of Crescent City, Florida and Bob Stacey of Columbia, South Carolina.

He was the beloved of husband of Jane Stacey (predeceased); the blessed father of Erika Underhill and father-in-law of Frank Underhill, and father of Bob Stacey and father-in-law of Laurel Stacey; the son of Ernie and May Stacey of Oshawa, (predeceased); brother (and brother-in-law) of Barb Copes (Nick) of Thornhill; Jan (Gail) Stacey of Oshawa, Bren (Betty-Anne) Stacey of Caledonia, Glen Stacey of Toronto and Jill (George) Bartosik of Uxbridge.

He was also the wonderful grandpa of 10 grandchildren: Frank, John, Anna, Leah, Jessica and Noah Underhill of Crescent City, Florida, and Clayton, Jackson, Charissa and Katie Stacey of Columbia, South Carolina.

Bruce served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy for two years and had a 31 year career in General Motors in Oshawa.

When God saved him, Bruce became actively involved in the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church in Oshawa before using his talents to serve his brothers and sisters in Christ at Pioneer Baptist Church in Norland, Ontario when he and Jane moved to Balsam Lake in 1994.

Bruce loved his family, was a dedicated saxophone player and avid follower of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, but most of all, he wants you all to know how much he loved his Saviour, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whom he is with now in Glory!

Arrangements out of Millbrook. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 11am at Pioneer Baptist Church, Hwy 35 in Norland. Visitation at the church on Friday, November 14th from 7-9pm.

Entered into rest at the Memorial Hospital, with family by his side on Thursday, November 6th, 2014. William David John Haight, in his 73rd year.

The beloved husband of Carol Haight (nee Thompson) of Cannington. Loving father of David, Kevin, Terrie (Ron) Hannigan-Hopcroft, Billy Haight and the late Peter Hannigan (2009).

Dear brother of Danny, Susie and Jimmy Haight and Joanne Black. Predeceased by three siblings, Douglas, Randy and Elizabeth Haight.

Dearly remembered by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held in Cannington on Saturday, November 15th.

As a remembrance, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.

Passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Frost Manor, Lindsay in his 87th year.

Husband of Eva Hughes (Simpkins), father of Garry (Marilyn) and Judy (deceased), grandfather to Ashleigh Kannenberg (Matt Martin) and Katelyn Joseph (Kevin).

Survived by sisters Barb Penty (Mac) and Joan Cranney (Bob), and sister- in-law Blanche Hughes (Tom), predeceased by brothers Tom, George (Milley), Norm (Evelyn) and Doug. Brother-in-law to Thelma Chambers (George), both deceased.

There will be no service and cremation has taken place.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Jean died peacefully at Highland Wood in Haliburton after a brief illness. Jean was born in Gowanstown, Ontario and lived most of her life in Palmerston. She was the daughter of William Bailey and Nellie Kress.

Jean was a Registered Nurse , a graduate of The Stratford School of Nursing and worked as a nurse and Director of Nursing at Palmerston and District Hospital. Jean continued to serve others well into her retirement years and was a true friend to many, especially Lorne Moore of Carescent Care, Harriston and his family (her adopted family). Jean was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Palmerston and a member of Peace Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Palmerston.

Jean was married to the late John Edgar Hunt and was beloved mother of Lynne Johnston of Haliburton, John Hunt (deceased), and Patricia Kramer (Marc) of Switzerland. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Beth Robinson (Mark) of Leesburg, Virginia, Philip (Carol Marriott) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and David Hunt of North Bay. She leaves two great grandchildren, Jayden and Brayden Hunt

As Mom wished, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Palmerston.

If desired, donations to HHHSF - Highland Wood or the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
