Doulas GeorgeDOULAS, George - (May 1, 1941 - November 2, 2017) -

George was a farmer. He was a winemaker, a gardener, a beekeeper and a restauranteur too. But his most important job was Papou (which is grandfather in Greek). "Take a picture of me with my granddaughter Sia and post it on Facebook" he said with excitement to his daughter-in-law one Sunday morning.

George Doulas was born on May 1st, 1941 in a small remote village called Kandila in Arkadia, Greece. He was named after his paternal grandfather. He was the eldest of four children and considered a bright student at the local school.


Caird CharlieCAIRD, Charlie Lavern - Peacefully with family by his side at Kingston General Hospital, November 2, 2017, at the age of 74, born May 24, 1943.

Loving husband of 51 years to Lynn (nee Young). Loving father of Lisa O’Neill (Tim), Christine Ryan (Rob), Colleen Bencze (Jeff). Never forgotten by his grandchildren Elisha, Brooklyn and Gracie, Blake and Charlize. Charlie is survived by his sister Olga Young (late Carl), Karen Young (Doug), and Larry (Elaine).

Charlie will be reunited with his parents Lorne and Erma, sister Opal Campbell, brothers Junior, Wendell and Bruce.


Hall DorothyHALL, Dorothy Essery - Six months after her 100th birthday celebration, Dorothy Essery Hall (nee Hicks) passed away on October 29, 2017, at the Kingston General Hospital.

Born and raised in Centralia Ontario, she spent most of her adult life in Toronto and her retirement years in Colborne and Kingston. Mother of Stephen Hall (Lynn), Norman Hall (Sharon Komori) of Calgary and Gordon Hall of Nanaimo.

Predeceased by her husband Frederick Earl Hall (1999), sister Mildred Creech (2017), brother Stanley Hicks (1998) and brother Clifford Hicks (1944).


Motsch LisaMOTSCH BRATT, Lisa (Elizabeth) Anne - (November 1, 1970 - November 1, 2017) - Lisa passed away peacefully, on her 47th birthday, at Providence Care Hospital Palliative Care Unit, with her loving partner and husband of over 20 years, David, by her side.

A devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend to so many. Lisa leaves behind her 2 incredible children, Rachael & Logan, and her adoring husband, David.

She is survived, and will be deeply missed, by her mother & father, Elizabeth & Joseph Motsch, and her 4 siblings, John (Christine), Melissa (Bob), David (Alison), and Amanda (Devin), as well as her ever-loving and resilient Oma.

Gary was born on March 27, 1945 in London, Ontario. He was the very best husband, father, and Papa. The best. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Alex (nee Shirley Miles), his children, Andrea & Chris and Eric & Anna, and his grandchildren, Kyle and Max.

Dear brother of Jack & Leila and Peter, brother-in-law to Marnie, Joanne, Sharon, John & Ronnie, Theresa, and Paul, son-in-law to Jean, and Uncle Gary to his beloved nieces and nephews.

Connie is predeceased by her husband Charles DeWolfe.

She leaves behind three children Chris (Sarah), Cory (Shelli) & Chelsey (Anthony), nine grandchildren, also known as grammas angels, Kayleigh, Madison, Charlie, Sierra, Logan, Mason, Eliza, Christopher & Caliopi, as well as many many "adopted” children and grandchildren.


Scotland DavidSCOTLAND, David Wiley - (1953 - 2017) - David Wiley Scotland passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2017 surrounded with love at Kingston General Hospital.

David was the second-generation owner and licensed funeral director of Scotland Funeral Home, originally founded by his father Walter Scotland, which has been serving the Elgin and surrounding community for 50 years.

Born in Finch, Ontario in 1953, to parents Walter and Irene Scotland, the family eventually settled in Elgin in 1967 when Walter purchased the Campbell funeral home. Dave was a prominent, well-respected, professional who demonstrated unwavering dedication to the care of his families. 


Wilkins RosieWILKINS, Cynthia Rosemary 'Rosie' to all who knew her - (1951 - 2017) - God has taken another angel from us far to early on November 1, 2017.

For the past three years Rosie put forth a courageous battle against cancer. Never once letting the effects of forty chemo and seven radiation treatments change her bright and cheery outlook on life, family or friends. Despite the horrific side effects taking their toll she never failed to greet everyone with a smile and “I’m doing good”.

The sense of loss is overwhelming to all who knew her.

STOTT, Alan D. - (1930 - 2017) - Suddenly at home on October 30th, 2017 in his 88th year, Alan succumbed to a prolonged illness.

Survived by his beloved wife Jean of 62 years, children; Lesley (Jack), Barry (Tamy), Ian (Kathy). Dearly missed by grandchildren; Andrew, Ethan, Lucas, Sylken, Emma and Kittina.

Alan brought his family from England in 1975 for a lengthy career at Northern Electric. Had a membership with the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Canadian Legion #496. As well as enjoying classical music, he had a passion for acting, directing and producing plays in the theatre.

She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Frances Moran, her other relatives, friends, and by the members of her religious congregation.

Married to Shirley (nee Dixon) in 1948, he studied at Albert College, took degrees at Queen's University, Queen's Theological College and Vancouver School of Theology.

Ordained in 1957 by the Hamilton Conference of the United Church of Canada, he served pastoral charges in Manitouwadge and North Bay.


STINSON, H. Jean (nee Nugent) - Passed away peacefully at The John M. Parrott Centre, Napanee on Friday, October 27, 2017 in her 91st year.
