Beloved wife of the late Lloyd.

Cherished mother of Kathy Cipriano (Frank), Cindy I'Anson (Ken), Patricia Allen (Sam) and Noelle Allen (Gilles). Adored grandmother and great-grandmother of Paul (Eleanor) and their children Bianca, Paige, Ethan and Earl, Shannon (Chris) and their son Dylan, Bryan (Jenn) and their son Luca. Grammie of Jaycee, Sophie and Tiffany.

Sister of Hawley (Ola) and Michael (Wendy). "Sister" of Patsy (Ken). Joan is predeceased by her brother Don. Predeceased by the father of her children, Richard.

Joan was born in a log cabin on Marysville Lake. She had a very special relationship with her grandmother "Ma" MacGregor.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care that was provided by the staff at the United Mennonite Home.

A Service of Remembrance to take place in Grimsby on Saturday, October 25th at 2:00 p.m. Private Interment to take place at a later date.

Devoted husband of Nancy (nee Groves) for 38 years. Proud father of Lisa (Jeromy) Purnell, Phillip, Andrew and Danielle Winn. Papa to Emma and Lucas.

Joe is survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Predeceased by Misha and his brother Max.

Joe enjoyed his work and sharing his Stelco stories. Upon his retirement, Joe could be found tending his garden and being out in the garage where he spent time doing his crosswords and keeping a watchful eye on the neighbourhood.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in St. Catharines on Monday, October 27th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society or Albright Manor.

Loving mother of Patricia (Wayne Hall), Sharon Emery, Wendy (Ivan Michaud) and Jill Emery (Reginald Vandette). Cherished grandma of Dr. Dawn Hall (Jonas Thompson), David Hall (Dr. Michele Rackam-Hall), Matthew and Lucas Kowalchuk, Benjamin Hancock, Gerald (Kate Merritt) and Michael Dupelle.

Dear sister of the late Helen (Robert Thornborrow), Beverly Smith (late Gerald) and Avis (Gordon Barclay). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in St. Catharines on Monday.

Kapellas_AlexIt is with profound sadness that the family of Alex announces his sudden passing on October 22, 2014 in his 43rd year.

Loving husband and companion to Michelle (Vos). Caring and beloved father of Amber, Meghan & Stephen. Loving son of Pauline Kapellas (the late Steve), and dear brother of Penny Hawtrey (Philip).

Alex will be sadly missed by his mother & father in-law Art & Tina Vos, his sisters in law Sherry Dinwoodie (Mike), Amanda Vos-Wiebe (Rick), his brother in-law Gerrit Vos (Johanna), his uncle Tom Kapellas and by many cousins, relatives, friends and all who knew him.

Alex’s faith in God helped to carry him through the difficult and uncertain times in his life, in particular after his accident in January 2010, when he became a quadriplegic. The accident and his commitment to his faith led him to become involved with the Youth Impact Centre in Dunnville and his later project of opening the PoCo Youth Centre at "The Hub."

He touched so many lives; he was an inspiration to us all.

A celebration of Alex’s life will be held on Sunday, October 26th at 3 p.m. at the Christian Life Assembly, 484 Barrick Rd., Port Colborne. Cremation will follow.

If so desired, donations may be a made to Christian Life Assembly for the Kapellas Family & Education Trust Fund.

Heather was the adoring and devoted mother of Chloe Jantje and Madison Maaike.

She was the cherished daughter of Bill and Mary Koudys; dearly loved sister of Richard (Juliette) and David (Donna); and loving aunt of Sarah, Stacey, Jacob and Jessica. Heather will be missed by mant aunts and uncles, friends and colleagues.

Heather taught us to live each day true to our faith in Christ.

Arrangements out of Fonthill. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1040 Balfour Street, Fenwick from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm.

A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, October 25th at 11:00am.

Jack was the much loved husband to Eunice for the past 54 years. He leaves behind his loving daughter Diane and her husband Mark. He was beloved by his grandchildren, Jeffrey and Leanna.

He is also survived by his sister Joan (Ian), sisters-in-law Margaret and Winnifred and his brothers-in-law Sterling (Pat) and Allan.

Jack spent a lifetime building friendships and relationships. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.

Debra was an occasional teacher with the District School Board of Niagara, where many of her students fondly called her 'Mrs. D.'

Passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014 in his 87th year at Extendicare, St. Catharines, Ontario.

Loving husband of Evelyn for 66 years. Dear father of Lynne (Dan) Willette, Mark (Sheila) Bazeley, and Tim (Carol) Bazeley. Grandfather to Stephanie (Adam) Savoie, Adam (Fran) Bazeley, Laura (Brandon) Little, Jennifer (Jim) Bazeley. Great Grandfather to Myriah and Rhys Savoie, Brielle Little, Erica and David Bacon.

Predeceased by his parents William and Edith Bazeley and his brother Bill Bazeley.

Jim lived most of his life in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the army during the latter part of WWII and trained in Halifax, NS. After the war he worked as a mechanic with his dad at Bazeley Bear Alignment.

In 1963 he turned his love and care of animals into his business by opening Victoria Aquarium pet shop and in 1976 he began manufacturing pet collars, leads, leashes and assorted pet supplies at A brand Leather. Jim was a skilled craftsman and had a large array of KOI ponds and tropical fish. He was a founding member of CAOAC (Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs) and won many awards for breeding varieties of fish.

The family wishes to thank Extendicare for all their help and concern.

There will be no service at the request of the deceased.

Sister-in-law Eufemia Condina and brother-in-law Guiseppe Condina of Australia. Sister-in-law Maria Condina of Italy.

Predeceased by all her siblings Eufemia, Dominico Antonia, Guiseppe, Catarina, Antonio, Concetta and Frank. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, Italy and Australia.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Niagara on the Lake. Rite of committal will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations to Upper Canada Lodge will be appreciated.

The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bastedo for his compassionate care, the nursing staff at the Niagara on the Lake Hospital, the nursing staff and the PSW’s at Upper Canada Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife Milica of 33 years, who he loves always, and his three sons Milan, Petar and Veselin, who he loved more than anything else in the world.

Son to the late Dara and late Milo, brother to Olga Saranovich (the late Ratko), Betty Uzelac (Eso), Anne Zelenovich (the late Marko), Dawn Muir (Paul) and Michael Kovich (Jacinta).

He was loved by his in-laws, dearly, Peter and Zora Oklobdzija, George Oklobdzija (Mary), Betty Kneis (Henry). Loving “Uncle Vic” to Lana Vujicic (Jovan), Johnny Simich (Kerri), Djuro and Bosa Uzelac, Mirjana, Milena and Dara Zelenovich, Melissa Petrilli (Daniel), Robert and Ashleigh Kovich, Rhiannon McVean (Chad), Cory Mclean, Julia, Katie and Lexi Kneis.

He was loved by everyone who met him, especially Dan Rogers, Mary Adam, Alan McEwen, Sonya Felix, and Irene Bray. He was the best father anyone could have hoped for and his three boys will always have a special bond with their amazing dad. We all miss him so much.

Maurice was predeceased by his sister Peggy Lyons; and his grandson, Trevor.

He served in the Royal Navy from 1944 - 1952 and also worked for many years at General Motors.

Loving father of Anna-Maria (Peter) Fedorovitch and Isidoro (Lora) Ruscitti. Cherished Nonno of Lisa, Leana and Anthony. Antonio will be lovingly remembered by many friends and family.

He is predeceased by his parents Isidoro and Giovanina and his brothers Pasquale and Basilio.

Loyal employee of General Motors of Canada for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Antonio was a kind and generous man, who enjoyed gardening and playing Bocca at the Italian Centre, and above all else his family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Saturday, October 25th at 9:30a.m. Entombment to follow.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Dorothée (Thivierge). Dear father to Chuck Benn and wife Sally. Cherished Poppa to Sarah and Mark Benn. Also survived by brother Don Benn and Diane of Port Colborne, sisters Lois Benn of Toronto and Norma Brown of Welland.

Predeceased by his parents Milton and Margaret Benn, his brother Bill Benn and his sister Marjorie Haggerty.

Allan was a John Deere Retiree. His greatest joy in life was to see Sarah and Mark grown and play in their respective sports.

We thank Dr. K Rycerz and staff at Mapleview Medical Clinic. Special thanks to Dr. Scher and nurses Dawn Brown and Jocelyn Molnar. To our families and friends our heartfelt thanks for all the love and support that we were blessed to receive in this time of need.

At his request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements out of Port Colborne.

Beloved husband of 47 years to Bruna. Cherished father of Gianna Gatto and Lorena (Keith) Gatto-Rosettani. Loving nonno of Lucas and Dante Rosettani.

He will be missed by his brother Rino of Australia and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his son Luca Gatto (1995) and his brother Gino Gatto (2012).

Arrangements out of Niagara Falls. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Scapular Church with the Rite of Committal to follow.

Born in Port Colborne, he has lived in this area all of his life.

Survived by his daughters Ashley, Jessica, Myranda and Jocelyn, granddaughter Kenzie, Mother Linda Plante, Father Gilles Plante (Susann), brother Dwaine Plante (Maureen) sister Tracy Davies (Scott), sister Lisa Plante (Darren).

Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service in Port Colborne on Wednesday, October 22nd. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes will be held on Tuesday October 28th.

Satkus_FriedaPassed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, at the age of 95.

Frieda was predeceased by her husband Vince and by her daughter Cathy. Frieda is survived by her son-in-law Robert Kaiser of Summerland, B.C. and grandchildren Aaron and Emily.

Frieda will be dearly missed by her niece Biruta Carr, nephew Tony, and by many friends including those at the Loyalist here in St. Catharines.

Frieda was born Frieda Schwartz, on November 23, 1918 in Jansen, Saskatchewan, and married her husband Vince on March 10, 1951. She worked for years at Diana’s Sweets in Niagara Falls.

Service will be held in St. Catharines on Monday, October 27th. Burial to follow.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth John Shaubel in his 75th year on Sunday, October 19, 2014.

Predeceased by his parents, John and Clara Shaubel.

Survived by his son, Greg (Monica), his brother Larry Shaubel (Alice), his nephew Jeff Shaubel (Terri), his niece Kim Stutz (Dave), his great-nephew Ryan and his great-nieces, Rachel and Mariah.

Ken enjoyed playing many sports such as baseball, curling and golf. As a resident of Dain City, Ken proudly served on many of Dain City’s councils and committees taking on various roles. He worked as an accountant at Hopkins Steel Works in Welland until his retirement.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Portal Village and Northland Pointe for their compassion and kindness over the years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25 at 1pm at the Roselawn Centre, 296 Fielden Avenue, Port Colborne.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or to a charity of choice.

Louisa had worked for many years as a chambermaid at the Niagara Clifton Hotel and the Best Western Niagara Falls.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service in celebration of Mrs. Green’s will be held in Niagara Falls on Thursday. Inurnment will follow.
