Peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2014, Solange passed away at the age of 92, surrounded by her family.

Solange has been reunited with her husband of 35 years, Jacques.

She will be missed by her children Gerald (Francine), Monique (David) Sevcik, her grandchildren Christopher (Colette), Michelle (Shawn) de Laat, Chantal (Gary) Russell, Nicole (Jeffrey) MacKay, Stephan, also by her great-grandchildren Emily, Isabella, Benjamin and Ella.

A heartfelt thank you to the Welland Hospital nursing staff and Dr. Ali, for their exceptional care.

In accordance with Solange's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements out of St. Catharines. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

After courageously fighting ALS with dignity, grace and a lot of laughter, Pat passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday April 17, 2014, in her 82nd year.

Pat Blanchard (nee Gallagher), beloved wife of the late Vern Blanchard.

Loving mother of Lori (Carey), Lisa, Lynn, Leanne (Gerry) and Jan (Richard). Loved Nanny of Tyler, Sunny, Jack, Cory, Michelle and Kayla.Dear sister of Ronnie O’Handley (Brenda) of Cape Breton and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brother Leo and sisters Theresa and Linda.

As a busy mother of five, Pat still found time to give tirelessly to others as a member of the Catholic Parent Teacher’s Association, St. Thomas Aquinas Church Catholic Women’s League, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Out of the Cold Program.

Pat’s family wishes to express its sincere thanks to the caregivers of March of Dimes and CCAC for their loving support over the years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 316 Queenston St., St. Catharines (905-687-6971) on Wednesday, April 23rd at 11:00 am.

Surrounded by her family, Jackie peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 83.

Jackie was predeceased by her husband Walter (2005) and by her son Greg (2007).

Beloved mother of Karen Starrs and Peter Hnatiuk. Loving Nana of Matthew, Todd and Shannon. Jackie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jackie was a dedicated member of St. Alfred's Church. She was involved with the CWL and the Funeral Committee.

A special thanks to Holly for all her love and support.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 727 Vine St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow Mass. A reception will take place in the church hall, immediately following the service.  In memory of Jackie, family and friends are encouraged to wear green (her favourite colour) to the funeral.

Cherished son of Juergen and Heike Lippelt and son-in-law of Frank and Lisa McGee and Liz and Donald Wood. Dear brother of Ian Lippelt (Sherry Miller) and brother-in-law of Sean McGee, Jason Wood and Pamela Wood.

He will be sadly missed by his best friend Dave Keeler and by many nieces and nephews.

Mark had a passion for medieval combat, was an accomplished chef, and enjoyed camping with his family.

At Mark's request cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held in Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Welland Hospital with her loving daughters by her side.

Predeceased by her husband Peter (2001), parents George and Ellen Gear, siblings John, Mary Ellen (Molly) and Charles.

Cherished mother of Debbie (Wes) MacKinnon of Ridgeville and Kris Kozell of Toronto. Loving grandmother to Drew (late Serena) of Durham and Brooke of Fenwick and doting nana to Kayla. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was born in Hamilton and moved to Welland with her husband Peter where they operated the Welland Beauty Salon for many years. They enjoyed many years in Fonthill as well. She spent the last two years at Portal Village in Port Colborne where she made new friends and appreciated the warm and caring staff and entertaining events and gatherings.

Charlotte's life was devoted to her family whom she treasured. She was our rock and foundation and the centre of our regular family get-togethers, made memorable by her hilarious Irish wit and colourful stories. Her positive optimism always brightened and inspired. Her wisdom, selfless support and loving kindness guided our lives and touched all who knew her. She was everybody's sweetheart!

Her deep religious beliefs sustained her through life's challenges and helped make her the strong, remarkable woman she was.

Our family would like to express thanks to the caring and compassionate staff in the E.R. and on the fourth floor West of the Welland Hospital, who eased her final journey with such empathy and grace. Special thanks to Father Paul of St. Ann's in Fenwick.

Finally, our deepest appreciated to the kind and loving staff at Portal Village who provided such a warm, safe and enjoyable home which so enhanced her life. Thanks also the Father Bevan whose homilies she greatly enjoyed.

In accordance with Charlotte's wishes, there will be no visitation or service following cremation. Private interment at the Fonthill Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Ottorillo Tonello (1978).

Dearly missed by her loving son Danny Tonello. Sadly missed by her sister Eileen Morrison (late Marvin) and brother Alfred DeLuca. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Rina Civiero of Hamilton and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Mary DeLuca.

Anna was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a very spiritual lady with a deep faith. Anna was also a devoted, loving and caring mother who was very loyal and trustworthy. She enjoyed writing notes, cards and letters.

Arrangements out of Port Colborne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23rd at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Brian Bevan officiating. Rite of Committal will follow.

Predeceased by her first husband Roy Stuart, second husband William Cochrane, son Mervyn Stuart and stepchildren Ruth Parkinson, Ken Cochrane and Jean Stentson.

Helen worked at General Signal for 30 years and was a member of Cook’s Mills United Church, St. John’s Ambulance, Welland, receiving the Long Service Medal and United Steel Workers of America, Local 6753.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements out of Welland.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of a wonderful Father and Nonno on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 at the age of 84 at the St. Catharines General Hospital.

Predeceased by his loving wife of almost 40 years Norma (nee Rabak) in 1992.

Beloved father of Emil and wife Loredana and Adelia and husband Mario. Cherished Nonno of Marc and Fabiola, Jennifer and Robert, Stephen and Kirsty. Valerio will also be sadly missed by his long time friend and companion Barbara Barber.

He is survived by his younger brother Sandro and many brothers and sisters-in law and extended family in New York, Australia and Croatia.

Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Nina (nee Matkovic) and brothers; Antonio, Ernesto, Mario, Berto, Carlo and sister Erminija Skuljevic.

Valerio was a very talented brick mason. He created many beautiful one of a kind fireplaces. In his retirement he enjoyed playing bocce, traveling, raising rabbits, making wine and gardening. He was especially proud of his greenhouse lettuce, which he could grow in the dead of winter.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Catharines Place for all their care and compassion in the three years since it became his home. We would also like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital - Niagara Health System for their excellent care of Valerio during his illness.

Funeral Service will be held in St. Catharines on Tuesday, with entombment to follow.

Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in honour of Valerio.

She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Ida was a devoted wife, mother and nanni. She doted on her family and beautiful grandchildren.

Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to Canada in 1987. He was a faithful supporter of Partick Thistle Soccer Club and enjoyed spending his time at the Celtic Club. Bill was immensely proud of his two grandkids, with whom he loved spending time.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the Walker Family Cancer Center and the ER and palliative care staff at NHS-St. Catharines Site.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place in St. Catharines on Thursday, April 17th with interment to follow.

He is survived by 2 brothers Rhéal and Jean-Guy and 4 sisters, Yvette Bilodeau, Yolande Blackburn (Lucien), Simone Gagné (Gustave) and Thérèse Demers.  Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Lucienne St. Jean, Claire Boissonneault, Monique Labrie (Paul-Émile) and Solange Labrie (Michel) and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Albert & Olivine, his son André (1999) and daughter-in-law Thérèse (2006), brother Philippe and sister Alma Cloutier.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 17th at Église du Sacré Coeur, Welland at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow.

Sweitzer_PaulWith broken hearts, we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and papa, Paul Sweitzer Sr. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on April 14, 2014 at the age of 59, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Christine, of 37 years, as well as his beloved children Paul Jr. and Stefanie, their spouses Teresa and Jeff, and his cherished grandchildren Ethan, Alyssa and Isaac.

He was a loving brother to Kevin (Angela), Mary (Bob) Houghton, and Bernie (Debbie). Brother in law in name but a true brother in spirit to Sandra (Tad) Stangret, Frank (Donna) Rosianna, Gloria (Rich) Cardwell, Rose (Rick) Richardson, and Jerry (Helen) Rosianna. Paul was also uncle to many adored nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents Paul Sr. and Sarah Sweitzer, Step Dad Duffy Pryczak, Father and Mother in law Nick and Mary Rosianna. He will also be lovingly remembered by longtime best friends Fred (Louise) Graham.

Paul Sr. spent his life as a devoted husband, father, Papa and friend. He was happiest when spending time with family, friends and his beloved dog, Zero. He was an adept chef who took his cooking seriously. He cherished moments spent fishing and relaxing by the lake. His sense of humour and "catch phrases" could be counted on to put a smile on the faces of those he loved.

Words cannot say how much he will be missed and how many cherished memories that he is a part of. As Paul would always say, "I love you more than you will ever know..."

A special thank you to the compassionate nurses Geneva and Tanya from CCAC who made it possible for Paul to be home with his family during his last days, which was his only wish.

Memorial visitation will be held in Niagara Falls on Saturday, April 19th.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to Niagara Anaphylaxis Support and Knowledge.

She will be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, many wonderful friends and extended family.

Lois was a proud and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br 142 and was honoured to receive her pin for 25 years of service.

A funeral service will be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Wednesday. In keeping with Barbara's wishes, cremation will follow, with inurnment at a later date.
