Predeceased by her 13 brothers and sisters. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Lovingly remembered by cousin Bev, Laura, Louise and Randy. Forever missed by her "Partner in crime" Aunt Sharon.

Dear brother of Linda (Tom) Matthews. George will be fondly remembered by his auntie Mary and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his former wife Linda.

George was a longtime employee of Burger King, and over the past 11 years he became an owner of the Welland location. He will be missed by his staff and regular customers.

He was a lifelong Bluejays fan, enjoyed fishing, and spending time at the cottage in Buckhorn.

A Celebration of George's life will take place in St. Catharines on Friday, August 1st. Cremation to follow.

Beloved wife of the late Henry Lohr.

Sister of Maaike and Dini in the Netherlands, Ali in Germany and George Vos in Smithville, ON. Loving mother of Ammie Ten Brinke (John), Archie Lohr (Jo-Anne), Brian Lohr (Becky), Wilma Mills, and Etta Williams (Wayne). Lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements out of Dunnville.  A memorial service will take place at First Reformed Church, 1136 VanSickle Road North, St. Catharines on Thursday, July 31st at 2:30 p.m. Private family interment in Wainfleet.

Beloved husband of Mary (Haines) for 68 years. Loving father of Betty, Allen (Susan) and Douglas (So So) Snider.

Grandfather of Megan (Trevor) Jack, Lindsay and Richard Snider. Step-grandfather of Jessica, Chelsea and Ashley Clark. Grandfather of Kevin and Sachiko Ng, Si Si and Ting Wong. Great-grandfather of Vanin and Reese Jack, Yuana Ng and Mya, Tristan and Travis Wong.

George was predeceased by his only brother Arthur, and is survived by sisters-in-law Eleanor Snider and Ruth Wendorf (the late Verd), and nieces and nephews.

A member and honourary elder of Grace United Church and very active member of the St. Davids Lions Club for the last 35 years. He joined the Canadian Army in 1941 and served in Europe until the war ended in 1945. He received the great honour of representing his regiment, The Royal Regiment of Canada, at the 60th anniversary of Normandy in 2004.

He was a supervisor at General Motors, retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service. After retirement he worked for Morse & Son/Morgan Funeral Homes for the next 25 years.

The family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A service under the auspices of the St. Davids Lions Club will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Grace United Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Private interment will follow.

A Funeral Service will be held in Grimsby on Tuesday, July 29th. Private interment.

Ed Friesen passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday July 24, 2014 in his 94th year.

Beloved husband to Lillian (nee Peters) for 68 years. Cherished father to Diane (Joe) Hockey, Larry (Barbara) Friesen. Predeceased by infant son Lorne Friesen.

Ed will be fondly remembered by: Terri, Manny, Hailey and Joshua DeMelo; Karen, Jim and Jack Williamson, and Marlene Dion. He will be sadly missed by his brother John (Leola) Friesen, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Elisabeth, his brother Blake (Louise), and sisters Lillian (Albert) Peters and Eleanor (Menno) Mandtler.

Born in Saskatchewan in 1920, Ed always maintained an interest in farming and enjoyed returning to participate in the harvest. Ed and wife Lillian moved to Niagara Falls in 1947 to start their life together. He worked at Cyanamid and Shell Oil before starting his own business refurbishing oil pumps. He had an amazing talent for designing and fabricating his own machinery.

A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held in Fonthill on Tuesday, July 29th, followed by a private family interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice will be appreciated by his family.

In her 79th year, passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2014 at Linhaven Home with her family at her side and into glory with her Lord and Saviour.

Loving wife to John for 54 years. Loving mother to Ryan (Catherine). Jessie leaves her siblings: Sarah (the late Fred), the late Bill (Anne), Tam (Margaret), Pete (Elsie) and Ian (Nan).

Born in Ayrshire, Scotland and the second youngest of 6, Jessie was the pearl of the family. John and Jessie immigrated to Canada in 1963. An avid competitor in Judo, Jessie earned her Brown Belt in 1969. Jessie's focus turned to Ryan, staying home during his elementary school years to be an amazing Mum. She was also a wonderful honourary 'Mum' to many of Ryan's friends.

Funeral Service to be held at Scottlea Gospel Chapel, 500 Scott Street, St. Catharines ON on Tuesday, July 29th at 11:00a.m. Burial to follow.

Alf Potts, beloved husband of the late Martha “Mattie” Potts (2000) whom he cherished during their 58 years of marriage.

Loving father to Al and his wife Sandra (Sam), and John and his wife Pauline. Proud and loving grandpa of Michael, Katherine, Mark,Geneviève, Stacey, Jay and great grandchildren Clayton, Caleb, Thomas, Ryan, Jacob, MacKenzie, Madison, Noah, and Shannon.

Survived by his brother John and predceceased by his sister Beryl both of Scotland. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and their families in Canada and the U.K.

Alf was proud to serve his country during WWII in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and was wounded during the European Campaign near Caen, France in 1944.

An avid reader, Alf enjoyed watching/reading/discussing sports of all kinds and especially relished his winters in Florida where he was loved and respected by his neighbourhood family all year and enjoyed cruising at least once a year.

He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Bob Springer beloved husband, best friend and soul mate to Jodi for over 26 years. Proud and Devoted Father and Number 1 Fan of Tyler and Chad.

Beloved son of Louis and Theresa Springer and son-in-law of Robert and Beverly Hopper. Lovingly remembered by his brother John and his wife Stephanie. Loving uncle to Heidi and Lucas. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law James Hopper and his wife Libby and daughter Alyssa.

Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles and cousin in Ontario and Germany. Missed by his faithful companion and Lap Buddy "Oreo."

Bob was synonymous with sports in Dunnville. He was a natural athlete and excelled at Hockey and Soccer, playing for Championship teams with the Dunnville Terriers, Mudcats and Dunnville United Soccer Club.

Later Bob embraced a supportive role with the Jr. Mudcats scouting and encouraging talent to come to Dunnville and more so to stay in town for a good program. He will be remembered as a tireless volunteer at the Blueline Club and a Fiercely Vocal Fan in the stands.

Visitation to honour Bob’s life will be held at the Dunnville Memorial Arena Foyer on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Parish Prayers at 1:45pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church (corner of Pine and Alder Streets) Dunnville on Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 am. Interment.

Cherished grandmother of; Frances (Joel), Anthony (Jaclyn), Graziano (Kerry), Kristopher, Ashley (Zac), Ron, Ryan, Alexander (Sarah), Justis and Adrian (Ashley), and her great grandchildren; Nicholas, Jack, Evan, Tristin, Lucas and Marcus.

She will be sadly missed by her sister Diamante and brother-in-law Sestino Marotta of Welland, and their children Frank and Mario Marotta. Marietta will also be missed by her brother Vittoria Nero(Gina), sisters Amelia Cimino and Vincenza Stranges, all of Italy.

Predeceased by her brothers Antonio Nero (Maria), Giovanni Nero (Maria), Umberto Nero (Pina) all of Italy, and sisters Raffaelina Marotta of Australia, Giovannina Vaccaro of Argentina, and infant sister Ida Nero of Italy. Marietta is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends throughout Canada, Italy, Australia and Argentina.

Born in Conflenti, Calabria, Italy on April 17, 1925, Marietta had resided in Welland since 1953, when she arrived in Canada, from Italy, with her two young children to join her husband Antonio.

A funeral mass will be held in the Parish Community of St. Kevin, Welland on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow at Fonthill.

Mom and Dad spent many years on the family farm on Schisler Road and for the past 3 years she was a resident of Plymouth Cordage Retirement Home. She was an avid sewer in early years and she spent many hours knitting for the “Guardian Angels” and all of her great grandchildren will be in possession of one of her beautiful blankets.

The Liturgy of The Word will be held in Welland on Friday July 25th, officiated by Father Joe Ingrao. Rite of Committal to follow.

Dave passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014. 

He was the beloved father of Andi (Mick), Joanna (Ilija), Ruth, Paula and Adam (Nga), and devoted grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 

He will be greatly missed by his sister Joanna (Roy) and family in England as well as the Ricker family in and near Dunnville. 

David was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Miriam (1993), and by his parents Clifford and Margaret.

David was born on November 28, 1928 in Scarborough, England.  He studied agriculture at the now University of Guelph, and while there met Miriam Rose Ricker.  He farmed near Dunnville and then in Yorkshire. He returned to Canada in 1974 and settled near Lindsay, Ontario where he continued to farm.  He was a lover of nature, adventure, travel, sailing and books. 

He lived his life with kindness, integrity, generosity and a great sense of humour. His wonderful spirit will live on in all of his family. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the St. Paul's Anglican Church, 45 Russell Street West, Lindsay on Monday, July 28th from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral service in the church at 12:00 noon.

Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.

Dear Aunt to Brian and Sandra Ward; great aunt to Kari Ross and great great aunt to Ryan, Kaitlyn and Brianna. Predeceased by her husband William and her sister Audrey Ward.

Of Welland, at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital, on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at age 75.

Beloved husband of the late Donna Jean Babin (nee Dawson) (2008).

Loving father of Jeff Babin (Annette), Karen Kish (Lonnie) and Craig Babin. Cherished grandfather of Jamie, Jesse, Jolene, Jake, Kenny and Lonnie Jr. and great-grandfather of Kiara and Keagan.

Dear brother of Roger (Carmen), Regis, Camile, Raymond (Shirley), Bernie (Julie), Yolande Corriveau and Angela Larouche and brother-in-law of Frank Lasovich. Predeceased by his parents Hectorine and Michel Babin.

Jean-Claudé worked as a south plant inspector at Atlas Steels for 39 years.

Cremation has taken place. Fr. Jim Mulligan c.s.c. will conduct a memorial service in Welland, on Wednesday, July 23rd.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Raffaele Del Duca, peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 67.

Beloved husband of Ersilia (nee Grossi) for 40 years.  Loving father of Eric and Joseph (Veronica).

Predeceased by his parents Americo (2001) and Fortunata (2010).

Survived by aunts Maria (late Rosino) Mariani, Francesca (Raffaele) Risi, Battista (late Mario) Del Duca, Alfredina (late Antonio) Bianchi, brother-in-law Carlo & sister-in-law Anna Grossi.  Also survived  by family in Italy & Ireland Bernardina (Giuseppe) Grossi, Domenico (Antonietta) Grossi, Gina (Cosimo) Iafanni, Mario Grossi, Pietro (Anna) Grossi.  Raffaele will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church (21 Queen St. S., Thorold) on Wednesday, July 23rd at 12:00 noon.  Rite of Committal with Entombment at FOnthill.

It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Art. At his home, with his family, he passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20th, 2014.

Art is predeceased by his dear wife, soul mate and best friend Levia (2011).

Dad will be sadly missed by children Murray Fedorchuk, Sherry Lynne Fedorchuk, Wayne Fedorchuk (Janet), Bob Fedorchuk, and Marilyn Fedorchuk.

Amazing Grandpa to seven grandchildren who will forever mourn the loss, Nathaniel Fedorchuk, Sarah Fedorchuk, Crystal Fedorchuk, Chase Fedorchuk, Ryan Fedorchuk, Lisa Fedorchuk, and Natalie Meisenburg. Survived by sisters Olga Safnuk and Eileen Birtles.

With courage and strength, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family at home in Lowbanks on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the age of 70.

Survived and sadly missed by his loving wife of almost 50 years Carol (Hiles); children Sherri Gray, Tammy Andrews (George), Brenda (Rodger) Hill, Michael (Tami), son-in-law Campbell Andrews; and grandchildren Melissa, Sarah, Lauren, Kyle, Matthew, and Mackenzi. Also survived by siblings George (Rena) Gray and Norma Reece, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim served as a firefighter for 45 years, most recently with Haldimand County. He stayed active with the fire department until his retirement, mentoring younger firefighters and assisting in any way possible.

Special thank you to Dr. Bernard, the nurses and staff at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, the C.C.A.C., V.O.N., C.B.I., and the firefighters from station no. 7, for their wonderful and excellent care.

Passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ont on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 89 years.

Born in Croatia, she has lived in Canada since 1979.

Survived by her daughter Mary Bujan (deceased Steve 2006), Grandsons John Bujan, Steve Bujan (Jennifer), Joe Bujan (Carol), will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Cole, Emily and Stevie, many nieces and nephews in both Croatia and France. Also survived by her dear friend and in-law Anna Bujan.

Predeceased by her Husband Steve Ivanusic (1982), brother Stejepan Markesic, sisters Marica Markesic and Milica Gezic.

Arrangements out of Port Colborne. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padova Church, 360 River Rd. Welland on Wednesday, July 23rd at 10:00 a.m. with Father Alojzije Mikic officiating. Rite of Committal will follow.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent, St. Catharines on Friday, August 1st at 11:00 a.m with a luncheon to follow.

Harold passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 20th, 2014 at the age of 79 with family by his side.

Predeceased by his wife Janet (1996). Will be sadly missed by his children Karen and John (Monica). Cherished grandfather of Carlee, Devon and Hannah.

Harold will be sadly missed by his feathered friend Barney who has provided companionship for over 35 years and his many wonderful friends at the Fort Erie Racetrack.

Sincere appreciation to the outstanding nurses and doctors at Douglas Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Harold and our family during this difficult time.

Family and Friends are invited to Royal Canadian Legion Br. #71 on Saturday, July 26th at 11 am for a service to celebrate Harold's life followed by refreshments.
