For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

FANCY, Kevin - Passed away suddenly on Friday July 13, 2018 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 49.

Beloved son of Charlie and the late Brenda Fancy. Dearly loved father of Christopher Ducette, Ryan Giffen and Lila Fancy.

Lovingly remembered by his sisters Patricia Fancy and Tammy Fancy, his nephew Justin Taylor, and his nieces Pamela Meyer, Tabitha Meyer, Angela Meyer, Jessica Anderson and Laura Meyer.

Veldman HarmVELDMAN, Harm - Passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital in his 82nd year on July 13, 2018.

Harm was born in the Netherlands.  In 1955 he moved with his parents and brothers and sisters to Alberta. Two years later he came to Ontario.

Loving wife of the late William "Bill", for 43 years. Cherished mother to Stephen (Carol), and  Dion (Marty) McParland.

A loving and doting Grandma to her three granddaughters Erin, Decla, Grania and step grandchildren Michael Cooper and Lauren Cooper.

Born in Welland, Ontario, he has lived in this area all of his life. Predeceased by his beloved wife Donna (nee Schooley) (2014).

Ernest is survived by his children Paul Ernest, John Raymond (Lise) and David Edward (Tracy), his grandchildren Elise, Evan, Lukas, Cole, Taylor, Ruby and Tessa.

In the time Charlee was with us she brought much joy and happiness to all of us who were blessed to have her in our lives.

ROLLS, Norma Doreen (RN) - Passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in her 96th year.

Daughter of the late Frederick and Mabel Keith Rolls and dear niece of the late Winifred, Hattie and Ernest Rolls.

A graduate of the Mack Training School for Nurses (1945), Norma was a Registered Nurse and for many years was involved in the nursing education programs at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Nursing School of the Niagara College of Applied Arts & Technology.

Born in Germany in 1936, Willy came to Canada at the age of 18, where we met shortly after, married and started our family.

For many of the 56 years of our marriage, Willy worked as a tradesman in the auto industry, but he was most known for his faithful love of Jesus, his unconditional love of people, as well as his steadfast, kind, humble and patient nature.

Zecchini IvanZECCHINI, Ivano 'Ivan' - Suddenly on July 11, 2018 at the age of 89.

Beloved son of the late Oreste and Argia Zecchini. He is survived by numerous cousins.

He was a lifelong resident of  Welland and worked as a structural steel draftsman for various companies in the Niagara region. Ivan was an avid rose gardener and won many awards and trophies over the years for the roses he grew, including Grand Champion Rose in Show King, Best Red Rose and Best Orange Rose.
