For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Kirkwood AliciaKIRKWOOD, Alicia Kimberley - (October 17, 1989 - May 18, 2018) - With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of Alicia ‘Sheesh’ Kirkwood at the age of 28 years.

Alicia was born October 17th, 1989 in Brampton, ON and was raised in Niagara.

Alicia is survived by her loving parents Kimberley and Romeo; her sister Jenna (Ryan); brothers Ryan and Adam (Adrianna); and stepsiblings, Mike (Darlene), Mat, Steve (Virginia) and Krista (Kylle).

Beloved granddaughter of John & Maureen Reid, Rosaria & the late Pasquale Venditti. “Auntie Sheesha” will be deeply missed by nieces, Mackenzie, Madison and Ava and nephews Mason, Tyler, Gavin and Everett. She will be lovingly remembered by boyfriend Brad and her cherished dogs Phoebe and Hunter.

Alicia was predeceased by her father, Lindsay Kirkwood. 

Sheesh was a treasured daughter, granddaughter, sister, girlfriend, auntie and friend. She was always there for her family and friends in any way possible.

She attended Denis Morris Catholic High School and graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Office Administration Executive. Alicia was incredibly hard-working and loved her career with London Life Financial.

Alicia was such an energetic and determined person. She lit up a room with her vibrant personality and unique laugh.  

Her family will receive friends and guests at Pleasantview funeral home, 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold on Thursday, June 14th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 15th from 12 noon- 2:00 pm followed by a Celebration of her Life in the chapel at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the United Way, St. Catharines and District “After School Matters” program will be appreciated by her family.
