In the loving arms of Jesus, resting in peace; united with our precious Leo, Cleo and Francine. Passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2012 in S.C.G.H.
Edward, loving husband of Marion and together for almost thirty-five years. Born December 29, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to parents Edward (deceased October 1986) and Hosia. Special mention to our Tim and Sheri, who came into our hearts and lives through a door opened up by Jesus our Saviour.
Ed's family relocated to Buffalo, N.Y. at an early age. He attended public school there and graduated from Bennett High. Ed was drafted into the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam serving as a Combat Infantryman. He served in combat for a year and was awarded many medals for bravery and valor.
Upon returning home he worked at Bethleham Steel and Buffalo Forge before gaining employment at Niagara Mohawk, now called National Grid. Ed worked at the Huntley Steam Generating Station as a heavy equipment operator for 22 years, then placed on disability due to Diabetes Neurapathy.
He loved billiards and became quite proficient in his skill level. He loved playing cards (pinochle and hearts) with his co-workers and family. Edward loved sports especially basketball, golf and football. His keen mind was full of detail and statistics. He was a huge science-fiction fan and used to love reading super hero comics in his youth. Edward had taken several computer courses at theLlifetimeLearning Centre and became quite proficient.

Special thanks to all of our recovery friends and comrades, who helped us to live life with faith and a belief in God. We've also been blessed to meet many other friends and some of Ed's proteges through various pool halls. Blessings to our dialysis comrades at O.S.S. Hemo (where everyone knows how hard it is to feel normal in a now un-normal body).
To all the dialysis nurses, staff, Care Partners, C.C.A.C. and all the nurses on 3 East at S.C.G.H your kindness and compassion was incredible. Thanks to Dr. Rosenberg and his staff at the Wound Care Clinic and Dr. Soliman for helping Edward all that you have. MOORE, Laura -
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura following a long illness.
Laura has always been the loving heart and centre of the Moore family. Her husband, John, relished her love almost from the day they first met in Liverpool, UK., 60 years ago. Her children, Christopher (Corinne) and Elizabeth (Scott) and her grandchildren Robert and Jack ( Port Robinson ) and Robyn and Audrey (Vancouver) were embraced by the warmth of her love for them.
The great tragedy in Laura's life was the premature death of her eldest child Stephen in 2005 in Australia. She is survived by her sister Hilary (Australia) and was predeceased by her sister Margaret (Australia).
Laura was born and raised in Liverpool, England. She practiced physiotherapy in England for eight years before she set sail for a new life in North America with her husband John and baby son Stephen in 1961. During the next 12 years, she put her career on hold whilst she raised the family of Stephen, Christopher and Elizabeth and moved around with John to Brookhaven, Long Island, USA; Atomic Energy of Canada, Chalk River Ontario; University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and finally to Brock University.
She resumed practicing physiotherapy at The Children's Centre in St. Catharines in the early 70's and then, finally, with the Niagara Community Care Group before her retirement in the mid '90's. She absolutely loved working with the children and the elderly folk helping to ease their problems.
Laura's formative years in Liverpool resulted in a lifetime love of music, particularly classical and choral music. She was a member of the University Singers in Saskatoon, the Niagara Symphony Chorus and for many years she was a member of the St. George Church Choir in St. Catharines.
Her retirement coincided (almost) with the birth of the first of four grandchildren. Robert (19) and Jack (15), who live nearby, really felt firsthand the power of a grandmother's love; it was rained down on to them. Robyn (9) and Audrey (5) who live in Vancouver escaped the daily "love shower" but nevertheless were the apple of their grandmother's eye.
We love you Laura, always, and will treasure the memories forever.
A Memorial Reception will be held in Fonthill on Thursday, May 10th.
If desired, Memorial donations in Laura's name may be made to a charity of one's choice OR to the Children's Centre in St. Catharines.
The Moore family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. H. Venter (Fonthill) and Dr.M. Levesque (St Catharines) and their staff for the wonderful care and support they gave to Laura during her illness.
