MARTIN, Kathleen Mary (Stockwell) -
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Kathleen Martin on November 16, 2012 in her 89th year.
Predeceased by her husband and soulmate of 67 years, Harold Anthony Martin (March 8, 2011) and her son-in-law Richard Hildebrandt (March 2, 2012).
Beloved mother of eight “only” children, Anne Hildebrandt, Tony (Colleen), Alf (Joanne), Patricia (Jorge) DeMaria, Joe (Helen), Casey (Michael) Jones, Mike (Betty Anne), and Jackie (George) Henry.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Erich, Jeff (Tracy), Greg, Christopher, Jamie (Jen), Michael (Jenn), David, Patrick, Rachel, Jenny, Jake, Nik, Joe, George, Hattie (Scott), Ben and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Abby, Calli, Xavier and Olivia. She was loved and cherished by her many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was the youngest child and only daughter of Alfred Stockwell and Mary Darby. She was predeceased by her 6 older brothers. She is survived by one remaining sister-in-law, Evelyn Haslan of Toronto.
A tall athletic woman she played shortstop for the Port Dalhousie Lakesides women’s baseball team in the 1930s and also played hockey. Famous for her hand knit socks and love of Christmas, but most importantly her wit and sense of humour.
She made everyone welcome in her home; there was always room for one more at the table. She loved hats and tea parties and anything Royal. She was a kind and gracious lady to the end.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Denis Catholic Church, 230 Lake St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, November 21st at 11am.

The family of Douglas Wright sadly announces his passing on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Welland General Hospital at the age of 74.
Loving father of Stuart Wright, Ian (Thum) Wright, Sean Wright, all of Welland, Toosje (Trevor) Fulcher, of St. Catharines and Tanya Wright (Jerod Dahlgren). Cherished grandfather of Connor James Wright and Hadley Laufey Dahlgren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Earlis, his parents, Eric and Phyllis (Smith) Wright.
Doug was a proud teacher for 35 years, and spent a number of years teaching at Lord Elgin as well as E.L. Crossley. He was a volunteer and also a demonstrator at the Marshville Heritage Festival in Wainfleet.
Funeral service will be held in Welland on Thursday November 29th. Interment in Fonthill following the service.

Loving husband to Melissa for over 25 years. Cherished father to Karo (Solomon).

Peacefully on November 15, 2012, Ernest Charles Climenhage passed away in Pasadena, California.
Loving husband of the late Magdalene Climenhage (McGregor) (1985) and Miriam Elva Climenhage (Fretz).
Loving stepfather of Mary Ann Oakley (Bissell) and her husband Kenneth; proud grandfather of Christopher (wife Catherine) and Mark (wife Cynthia); proud great-grandfather of Danika, Kyan and Makenna. Also survived by Miriam's four children and her grandchildren.
Survived by his brother Samuel Climenhaga and his sisters Velma Heisey, Helen Christie, Viola Robson and Lois Climenhaga. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Laban and Priscilla Climenhaga, his brother Earl Climenhaga and his sisters Ethel Climenhaga, Florence Hutchinson, Dorcas Fischer and Ruth Climenhaga. He had many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
He was a longtime employee of Provincial Crane in Niagara Falls.
Cremation has taken place. A family service will take place at a later date with internment at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise Senior Living in Oakville, Anne Romano (nee Kozokar) in her 88th year, passed away on Thursday, November 15th.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Francis (Frank) Romano and her sisters Lily Senyk, Mary Haag and brother Michael (Mitch) Evaski. Beloved mother to her son, Vincent Romano and wife Dianne, Baden, Ontario and her daughter, Colleen and husband Doug Robins, Oakville.
“Nannie” will be sadly missed by grandchildren Jennifer Chan (Michael), North Vancouver, B.C., Amanda Robins (Jamie Wile), Toronto, Steven Romano, Baden and Christine Romano (Geoff Gittins), Toronto. Proud Great-Grandmother to Tristan, Leif , Portia, Isla and Charlotte. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Anne was born in Thorold, Ontario and moved to Niagara Falls as a young girl. She wed Frank in 1944 and they enjoyed 54 years of married happiness. Anne and Frank moved to Stratford, Ontario in 1966 with the Dominion Chain and were later part owners and managers of the Festival Inn.
Anne was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and the CWL, Stratford. Anne enjoyed an active retirement and moved to Oakville in 2009 and spent the remainder of her years at Sunrise. Anne will be remembered for her devotion to her family, a strong faith in God and her strength, courage, kindness and generosity.
A special thanks to her caregivers at Sunrise and the CCAC who made her final days comfortable.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 21st at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville..
Another Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am Thursday, November 22nd at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 96 Huron St., Stratford.

Passed away suddenly on November 14th, 2012 in Florida in his 88th year.
Beloved husband of Theresia of 59 years. Cherished father of Afra (Roy), Ted (Robbie), Pete (Teri), Jane (Ed), Diane (Gary), Dan and Lori (Rob). Loving Opa of 18 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Agatha in 1974 and his brother Walter in 2004.
Theodorus is survived by 2 sisters and 5 brothers all of the Netherlands. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Theodorus retired from General Motors in 1982 after 28 years of service. He received a Purple Heart when he served with the Dutch Army in Indonesia from 1946 to 1949. Theodorus immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1953.

At The Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
William A. Leskiw, loved husband of the late Dolores Marie Leskiw (2003). Dearly loved father of Dr. William Leskiw and his wife Laura, Catherine Ann Jamieson and her husband Ken, all of Niagara Falls, and Gail Marie Leskiw, Port Dalhousie.
Cherished grandfather of Alyssa Marie Pinelli, Kenny Jamieson (Lara) and Mark Jamieson (Ally). Dear brother of Helen Miller and Walter Leskiw (Vera) and the late Mary Hogg.
Predeceased by his brothers in law Walter Miller and Jack Hogg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
William was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, and served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and was a veteran of the Battle of the Atlantic, serving aboard the Minesweeper HMCS Noranda. He was an avid hunter and a long time member of the IBEW Electrical Union.
Resting at the HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls where the family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 and 7-9. On Thursday afternoon family and friends will meet in the chapel for the Prayer Vigil at 2:15 PM.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, on Friday November 16th, at 10:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the age of 64.
Beloved husband of 39 years to Ann Marie (Lee) Tapley. Dearly loved father of Laura Ann (Corey) Sparkman and Adrian Mark Tapley.
Cherished Grandad of Emma Marie and Liam James Sparkman. Loving son of Eileen and the late Fred Tapley.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place in Niagara Falls on Friday.
Private interment at a later date.
In memory of Mr. Tapley, donations to Wellspring Niagara or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by his family.

VACHON, Denise -
Of Welland, passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara - The Stabler Centre on November 13, 2012 at the age of 84, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Beloved sister of Roch (late Marie Guillemette), Mireille Tanguay (late Charles), Marcel (Mabel Goudreau), Michel (Ginette Simard) and Madeleine Bélanger (Donat).
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her dear friend Simone Lévesque.
Predeceased by her parents, Vénérand and Yvonne (Chabot), step-mother Célanire Lessard, brothers Aurèle (late Simonne Routhier), Germain and Gervais.
Respecting the wishes of Denise, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16th at Église du Sacré-Coeur, Welland for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow, with private burial at a later date in Ste-Justine, QC.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Hospice Niagara - The Stabler Centre would be greatly appreciated by the Vachon family.

Peacefully passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the age of 93 years.
Beloved wife of the late Jack Whitaker (2000). Loving mother of Robert and his wife Kim. Devoted Nanny of Vernice Merrill, Natasha Whitaker and Rebecca Wells. Great-grandmother of David, Mikayla, Darylan, Storm, and Hunter.
Dear sister of Betty Ovens, Donald (Betty) Jowitt and the late Edward Jowitt.
Rosemary was a longtime member of Christ Church McNab.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21st at Christ Church McNab, 1294 McNab Rd (off Lakeshore Rd.) at 1 p.m. Family and friends will be received from 12 until 1 p.m. at the church.
Cremation has taken place, burial in Christ Church McNab cemetery will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the offices of HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, (905) 684-6346.

Passed away peacefully at Northland Pointe Port Colborne on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the age of 85 years.
Born and raised in Wainfleet, he has lived in this area all of his life. Survived by his son Gary, grandson Christopher (Kendra Carr), great grandson Caleb, sister-in-law Dorothy Dayboll, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (Hill), parents Clifford and Alice, step mother Glenna, brothers Allan and Donald Dayboll and his sister Marjorie Wills.
Funeral Service will be held in Port Colborne on Friday November 16th with Pastor Thomas Arth officiating. Interment to follow.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Northland Pointe Auxiliary, or the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
