Loving Dad of Ellen (John) Kay, Clive III and William (Shirley). Proud grandfather of Clive IV, Morgan, Jordan, Aaron, Vanessa and his great-grandchildren

Clive was a veteran during WWII with the RCAF, an avid sailor and a long time member of the Dunlop Seniors' Group.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 16th from 10 – 11 a.m. at St. John's Anglican Church, 2878 St. John's Dr., Jordan, ON.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Gordon Philip Counsell, beloved husband of Phyllis (Clarke) Counsell.

Dear father of Scott Counsell (Leslie), David Counsell (Jacqueline), Robin Counsell (Terry Gotfried), and the late Candace Counsell (1977).

Grandfather of Aran, Courtney, Kirsten, Ashley, Jamie, Lucas, Heather and Colin. Great "grampa" of Abigail.

Predeceased by his grandson David (1977), his sister Rosemary (1995) and brother John (1984).

He is survived by his brother Maurice (Bud) Counsell (Minnie), Guelph.

Professionally, Gord was a staff Photographer for the Niagara Falls Review for over 30 years and personally was well known for documenting the beauty of Niagara in his photographs.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends for memorial visitation at the HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, April 22nd.

Private interment at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

Peacefully passed away from complications of pulmonary and kidney disease on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 after recently celebrating her 71st birthday on March 28th.

Beloved wife of Jan for over 50 years and dearly loved mother of Michael, (Helen Bagshaw), grandchildren Leonardo and Matthew, and daughter Dawn (Jim Fairman). Survived by her brother Robert Langlois (Marilyn).

Predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Rosa Langlois, brother Roland (Edith) and sister Helene (Robert Boak).

Lovingly remembered by mother-in-law Margaret Custode, sister-in-law Angela Kasten, brother-in-law Anthony Custode and their families. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A special note of thanks to Dr. Nunes, Dr. Gruber and Dr. Rabin for their kindness and care during Rose-Ann's illness. Our thanks also go to the doctors and nurses at the St. Catharines Hospital, ICU ward.

In accordance with Rose-Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements out of Fonthill.

Grandfather of Breanne and Jeremy Leclair, Brittany Dobrin, Liam and Connor Dobrin.

Also survived by his sister Irene (Fred Concessi), sister-in-law Isabel Macleod, brother-in-law Alec (Helen) Deacon and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Galina Dobrin, his grandson Nicholas Dobrin, his sisters Rose (the late Jasper Pelino) and Victoria (the late Eli Pandrea).

Cremation is to take place. A memorial service will be held in Port Colborne on Saturday, April 20th. Private Interment of ashes at a later date.

Beloved husband of Peggy for 49 years. Cherished father of Oliver, John (Danielle), Joseph and Orla (Jason) Newhouse. Loving Granda of James, Andrew, Ceara, Liam, Eamon, Ailish and Mairead.

James was a member of the All Ireland Gaelic Football Champions 1960 County Down. "Up Down!" He coached many kids' community soccer teams for the Irish Club. James' favourite place to socialize was the Celtic Club of St. Catharines. He will always be remembered as an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Manchester United fan.

He was employed at Ford Motor Company of Oakville for 15 years. James was most proud of being a loving granda to all 7 of his grandchildren and a devoted husband to his loving wife Peggy.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, St. Catharines on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Wife of the late Ronald Lavigne and loving mother of Jo-Anne Lavigne-Renaud (Robert Renaud) and of her predeceased daughters Diane and Carol.

Caring Nana to her grandchildren Athena and Kincade Kyle. Predeceased by her parents Béatrice (née Chartrand) and Henri Pouliot.

She is also survived by her sisters Éveline Dionne and Françoise (Gilles) Quevillon, brothers Claude (Jeanne) Dionne and Robert (Colette) Dionne.

Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Rita and Gerry Pidgeon, and brothers and sisters-in-law Jean and Évangéline Pouliot, Daniel and Jackie Pouliot, and brother Jean-Paul Dionne (Françoise).

She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.

Noëlla was a cordon bleu in the kitchen, and family and friends still have lasting memories of the feasts she prepared. She was a very talented seamstress and excelled at decorating. As well, many still have the precious quilts, afghans, and petit-point needlework that she generously shared.

The family would like to thank the emergency and medical staff on 5B and 3B who kept Nöella comfortable throughout her hospital stay.

Cremation has already taken place. Arrangements out of St. Catharines. Funeral mass will be held at l’Immaculée Conception on Saturday, April 20 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Society, or the Mount Carmel Retirement Residence.

Our Mom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

Vivien is survived by her children Phyllis Flegg (Mark), Edward Queffelec, and Beverley Hardiman (late Allan 2012.) Cherished nana of Krystal Teal (Terry), Kristoffer Flegg (Melanie), Lauren Mutch, Douglas Mutch, Talon Queffelec and Avery Queffelec. Great nana to brand new great granddaughter Sienna Flegg. Special step-grandmother of Austin Teal.

She leaves brothers Edward (Ted) Winter, Albert Winter (Debbie), and John Winter (Bev) sisters-in-law Shirley Winter, Marie Wilgosh, and Loretta Queffelec. Our Mom was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband Albert Queffelec, parents Phyllis and Edward Winter, brother Charles (Kent) Winter, sisters Joyce Waite and Faye Murray.

Vivien was born and raised in Welland and began factory work at age 13. She was employed for over 30 years at General Tire in Welland. She was dedicated to her family and sacrificed greatly to ensure they were provided for. She was a special Mom to many Niagara College students whom she provided a home-away-from-home. They have kept in contact with her and will be deeply missed by Jacqueline Douglas and Charles Thiruchelvam.

She was grateful for her lifelong friends Laurette and Doug Grant, Maisie Beres, Theoda Shaubel, and special niece Diane Brochu.

Vivien truly lived her life in a giving manner, helping those who needed assistance whether it be a few bags of groceries, money to pay a bill, a plane ticket home or just to lend an ear and give advice, never judging but always encouraging.

Thanks to Dr. Oelofse and palliative nurse Colleen; also to Linda Grant for all her support to our family through this difficult time. Special thanks to niece Dianne Tonnies who flew here from Alberta to help care for our Mom. You were truly an angel and we will never forget your kindness.

The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the chapel on Wednesday. Private family interment at a later date.

Son of the late Evelyn Campbell (Verne) and the late Joseph Andrews. Dearest friend to Mary Forand. Loving father of Christine Cameron (Kenny) and Tim Andrews (Erinne) and their mother Twila Andrews. Loving Grandfather of Allyce and Ava Andrews.

Cherished brother to Marilyn Pilon (the late Maurice Pilon), Lois Shelton, Terrie Nantais (Tom). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Doug retired from Stelco Canada (Welland Tubes). He bowled with the ARGO teams in competitive bowling, volunteered as both a hockey and baseball coach, and enjoyed curling, golf and fishing. He loved to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays games.

Many thanks to the ICU nurses and doctors at Welland General Hospital for their care and compassion.

Dear brother of Giovanna and Rosinna of Italy. He was predeceased by his brothers Domenic (Hilda) and Antonio (Adrianna). He will be lovingly remembered by the Pellegrino family and many nieces and nephews.

Giuseppe was born in Cortale, Italy and came to Canada in 1959 and worked at Stelco–Page Hersey until his retirement. He enjoyed cooking, baking and wine making. His passion in life was spending time with his wife and family and he will be remembered for his gardening and green thumb.

The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at The Parish Community of St. Kevin, Welland on Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Rite of Committal will follow.

Loving husband of Betsy (nee Davidson) of 71 years.

Predeceased by his only son Jim in 2002.

He and his family emigrated from Glasgow, Scotland and Sam worked at North York Hydro until his retirement after 32 years.

Sherk_James_JimPassed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Catharines General Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 87.

Jim was the beloved husband to Alice (Willick) Sherk for 60 years and amazing father to Louanne (Michael) Kelley, Ken Sherk, Doug (Sheryl) Sherk, Karen Sherk, and Beth (Chris) Wood. His ten grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren will miss him dearly.

His older brothers Don, Ray and Ben, his extended family and his best friend Charlie, will remember many good times.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War. He worked for the New York Central Railway for 48 years. Jim loved God, his family, his friends, gardening, playing cards and ‘just being at Black Creek’.  Jim was an active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Snyder.

At Jim’s request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements out of Niagara Falls. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Beloved wife of John (Jopie) for 59 wonderful years. Loving mother of John (Sharon) of Ottawa; Paul (Ingrid) of Bracebridge; Ina (Terry) Bynkoski of Fonthill; Martin (Sandra) of Ottawa; Peggy (Roger) Barnsley of Fonthill; and Andy (Hilda) of Welland.

Cherished Oma to 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mamma Marian to many children she cared for throughout the years.

A private ceremony to celebrate her life will take place with her family and close friends. Arrangements out of Fonthill.

A special thanks goes to all the nurses and staff of the St. Catharines and Welland hospital sites of the Niagara Health Systems, for caring for her over the last 6 weeks.

In honour of her memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Brooks_MarcelIt is with heavy and saddened hearts the family announces the passing of Marcel on Monday, April 8th, 2013 at the Welland General Hospital at the age of 89.

Loving husband of 57 years to Shirley (Brooke), cherished father of Louise (Mark) Marischuk, Stephen (Janet) Brooks, Michael (Sarah) Brooks and Christine (Len) Hanson.  He will be deeply missed by his 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind three siblings, Gertrude, Pierre and Mireille. Marcel was predeceased by his son Simon, brothers and sisters Madeleine, Jean-Paul, Charles, Jules, Gisèle, Raymond as well as his parents Marie and Honoré Brooks.

Marcel was born in Montréal, Québec. He resumed his teaching career from 1969 to 1987 at L'école Secondaire Confédération beginning with geography followed by mathematics. There, he established the computer science program.

He was a captain in the Air Force for 20 years as navigator, serving in the Korean conflict.  Marcel was recognized in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest continuous flight.  He enjoyed playing chess, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was on the Board of Governors for the Caisse Populaire, was dedicated to Continuous Learning, and was a member of the French Teachers Union Executive Board.

A Funeral Mass will take place at the Parish Community of St. Kevin's Church, Welland at 10am on Friday. Cremation will follow. Interment of ashes to take place in Montréal at a later date.

If desired, donations to the Development and Peace Organization, Arthritis Society or Pro Life will be greatly appreciated by the Brooks family.

Dearly loved brother of Abraham (Val) Gagliardi, Freemana Comin and Mary (Joseph) Campagna and brother-in-law of Don Johnson. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his son, Barry Ivor, and his wives Jessie Doreen and Elsa Joan. Predeceased by his sister Katherine Johnson and his brothers Adam, David and Peter Gagliardi.

Rosy worked for Cyanamid, retiring after many years of service. He was an active member of the Cyanamid 25 year club.

Rosy was a decorated veteran of World War II having served with the Calgary Highlanders Regiment and was wounded in combat in Holland. Rosy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 284 and a member of the Independent Order of Old Bastards (I.O.O.B).

Memorial visitation and service will take place in Niagara Falls on Wednesday evening.  Cremation will follow with interment at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery at 3:00 on Thursday, followed by a celebration at the Legion 479 on Spring Street.

In memory of Rosy, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Jo Anne Lindsay.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 142, Dunnville on Saturday, April 20th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Friends are encouraged to drop in during those hours to help the family celebrate Brian’s life.
