For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

DICK, David Campbell - November 12, 1945 - June 10, 2018 - Passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018 in Port Hope, Ontario.  

David Dick at 72 years of age. 

David’s brother Adrian Grant Duff was at his beside along with long time family friend Gladys Magg.

Predeceased by his mother Barbara I.

Dick and his father David Dick Jr. 

Survived by his sister Flavia Ormond, brother-in-law John Ormond, relatives Jocelyn Ormond, Emily Cozens, Ursula and David Walker, Richard Boyle, Francesca Fullerton, Penelope Newsome, Andrew and Pam Newman, David and Christine Newman, cousins Bessie and Adelaide and all their respective families. 

David was a good man, always polite and well mannered, interested in history with a great memory for facts. His great contribution was as a volunteer treasurer for many years for Amnesty International and the Schizophrenia Society in the Cobourg area. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday June 14th at 10 am.  Interment to follow. Reception at the Columbus Community Centre on Spencer Street East following the interment. 

Those wishing may make a memorial donation to St. Michael’s Church Restoration Fund.
