HORTON, Edna May - (1925 - 2017) - Of Peterborough, Ontario, previously of Thunder Bay, passed away Saturday December 30, 2017 at Peterborough Extendicare.

Survived by her loving husband Jack of 70 years, her daughter Susan (Jim) Torrance of Buckhorn and Lynne Owen of Mesa, Arizona.

Edna will be missed by her grandchildren Erin, Jennifer, and Meghan, as well as great grandchildren, Nile, Griffin, Finnegan, Vivian, Fern, and many nieces and nephews.


Fallis MoeFALLIS, Maurice Reid 'Moe' - (Longtime truck driver of 58 years with Buckham Transport) - Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in his 79th year.

Maurice Fallis was the beloved husband of Marilyn Fallis (nee Liesemer) for 58 years.  Special father of Kathy Guthrie (Rick), Wendy Gerolamy (Steve), Bill (Nancy), Danny, Melanie Fallis (Chris Cameron) and Rick (Meaghan).  Best Grandpa of 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.


Carter MargaretCARTER, Margaret Lillian (née Carter) - Margaret passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 in Peterborough, ON.

Born to Henry Thomas Carter and Dora Maud Stover as the third of 5 children in a small house in St. Thomas, Ontario on October 25, 1919, she grew up on a dairy farm just outside town. While excelling at school, she helped work the family farm (including roofing the barns) until she graduated with distinction from the U. of Western Ontario with a BA in languages during the war years.

She married Fred Carter (no relation) in 1950 and they lived in Toronto and then at Belmont Lake, Ontario. She taught French and German for many years, initially at the Saltfleet High School of Stoney Creek, and then successively at the Runnymede, Bloor, and West Toronto collegiate schools before retiring.


LUCAS, Eileen - (Retired Teacher with the PVNC Separate School Board) - Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of late Keith Lucas d. October 13, 2004.

Loving mother of Stephen and wife Maria of Toronto and Carol and husband Craig Kelly of Peterborough. Dear grandmother of Michelle.


Szegvary TedSZEGVARY, Tibor 'Ted' - Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 in his 92nd year.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, he rose to the call of his country to be an integral part of the Hungarian Revolution. After escaping in 1956 he moved to Canada. He met and was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann (nee Townsend) for 46 years before her passing in 2010. Their focus in life was family.

He was a successful part of Canadian General Electric (GE), as a respected draftsman for over 30 years. He also ran a wrought iron business “Ted’s Ornamental Iron Works”. He thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Italian Soccer Club, social committees, cottage trips with his family and restoring vintage cars with his boys.

Predeceased by parents Basil and Kate Cochrane. Also missed by many extended family and friends.

Fred was a longtime employee of Outboard Marine Corporation in Peterborough.

Loving husband of the late Rhoda Davey (nee Trotter). Cherished dad of Greg (Cindy) of Warsaw, Tracey Brooks (Rick) of Port Hope, Gord (Linda) of Hamilton and Troy (Amelia) of Kingston.

The family moved to Peterborough about 1929 and Garth became an "East City Boy" soon after.

Born April 2, 1946, in Montreal she was the daughter of the late Dr. Paul and Gertrude (Katzenstein) Sekely.

Judith is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jean Pierre; sons, Jean-Francois (Rebecca Goulding), of St. Ives, England, and Pierre-André (Tara) of Peterborough, Ontario; 5 grandchildren, Isaac, Paige, Travis, Bria, Jacob; sister, Nadine Bjornestad (Erik), of Quebec; a niece and a nephew.


ALBERICO, Lahring 'Larry' Ann (née Langley) - Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017.

Larry served in the RCAF in the Fifties and was a notable purebred dog breeder.

She is survived by her loving husband Edward Bert Alberico. Missed by her sister Janet Griffen.
