For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

JONES, Carolyn Lillian (nee Thow)  - Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Centre, Bowmanville, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. 

Carolyn of Buckhorn, formerly of Scarborough, in her 80th year. 

Beloved wife of Edward Jones for 58 years. 

Loving mother of Andrea Wigglesworth (Mark), Heather Jones (Lou Pedis) and Ken Jones. 

Dear Nana of Christian (Kristin), Makenzie, Nathan, Luke (Caitlin), Shad, Leah, Saige and Jessica. 

Sister-in-law of Peter Jones. 

Carolyn was such an outgoing and friendly person, she has too many friends to list, but she will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.

A self-employed florist, past owner of Van Bassen Flowers in Toronto. 

Past President of Flowers Canada. 

Carolyn was a long time member of the Buckhorn Quilting Guild,  Lakefield Provis and a founding member of the Buckhorn Singers.  

She was always very active in the Lakefield and Buckhorn Community.

Visiting will be held at the Ashburnham Funeral Home on Monday, February 12 from 11 am – 1 pm.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel, on Monday at 1 pm, with a reception to follow.
