Passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, Peterborough on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Doris (Gill) of Lakefield in her 91st year.
Wife of the late Gerald “Jerry” Stabler (d. January 16, 1985). Cherished mother of Greg and his wife Diane of Norwood, Ted and his wife Ann of Warsaw and mother-in-law of Nancy Stabler of Arlington, Texas.
Nana will always be loved and remembered by Brynne (Chadd), Mara (Jerry), Jonathan (Liz), Shondra, Cassandra, Jayme (Brian) and John (Whitney), by her great grandchildren and brother-in-law Jim Mogan.
Predeceased by her son Bill (d. July 6, 2005), sisters Ethel Mogan and Nancy Peters (Burrell) and brother Frank Gill (Bernice).

Peacefully at 97 on February 25, 2012 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre following a brief illness.
Predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Eric Errey, she leaves behind her children Don (Louise), Margaret Joan (Frank Hofmann), and Darrell (Shirley); grandchildren Bob (Tracey), Brian, Jennifer (Mike Lees); Doug Hofmann (Fiorenza Plummer), Ron Hofmann (Nathalie); Christina Vandewater, and Elizabeth Graham; and 15 great- grandchildren (!)
Born in Edmonton, Margaret returned to university in Montreal following Eric's death in 1961, earning her B.Div. She was active in the United Church of Canada, including leading the Board of Women nationally, overseeing church finances for the Bay of Quinte conference, and pastoral charges in Lavenham MB, Sutton QC, Bridgenorth and Kingston.
Thank you to the staff and residents of Royal Gardens for the warm friendships over the past five years. Thank you also to the staff at PRHC's palliative care unit for helping ease her final days.
A Celebration of her life will be planned for a future date.

Margaret is survived by her two nephews Douglas Dalby (Karen) and Robert Stanley George Dalby (Joan), 2 nieces Carol Thomas and Mary Jean McDonald (David), great-nieces and nephews Anne, Allison, Andrew, Ryanne and the late Michele, great-great-niece Ella and two great-great-nephews Colin and Noah. Predeceased by her parents George Douglas Dalby and Olla Wood.
Margaret was a graduate of Stamford Collegiate Vocational Institute in Niagara Falls. She was a veteran of WWII, having served as a WREN for 3 years. She trained in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec as a wireless telegrapher, and posted to Newfoundland for coastal surveillance of convoys and submarine traffic.
After the war Margaret attended the University of Toronto, graduating with a degree in Pharmacy. She owned and operated Smith & Smith Pharmacies in Bobcaygeon and Peterborough.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be held in Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, February 28th. Cremation will follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
