Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket in her 89th year.

Bertha is predeceased by her husband Kevin and son Leo Vail. Forever loved by her daughters Brenda (Doug) Salomone and Linda Vail and grandchildren Kevin, Chad, Julie and Melanie.

Survived by her sister Anita Halloran; predeceased by 13 brothers.

Bertha will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service of remembrance will take place in Creemore on Thursday, September 10th. Interment in St. Catharines.

Passed away peacefully in her 89th year on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 with her daughter Donna and son-in-law Bob by her side.

Marg was predeceased by her husband Sheldon (1993) and son Douglas (1995).

She was a spunky lady who lived life on her own terms, always putting the happiness and well-being of others before herself. Marg was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind four grandchildren Rob, Jason, Jennifer, Courtney and four great-grandchildren.

She was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews and leaves five brothers and sisters, Dora, Annie, Allan, Robie and Douglas. Margaret was a good friend to many and was a remarkable lady who lived life with no regrets.

Many warm thanks to Dr. Sandhu and Dr. Deober, CCAC and Simcoe Hospice Staff, Barrie who treated mom with kindness and compassion.

At Marg's request, there will be no funeral. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Donations made in memory of Margaret to Simcoe Hospice, Barrie would be greatly appreciated.

Mickey touched the lives of many people through her work with Ron at Camp White Bear and the YMCA, her long career as a school teacher and as a counsellor at Murray Axsmith Ltd., Calgary. Her work in camping is recognized by the "Ron and Mickey Johnstone Youth Leadership Award" presented annually by the Ontario Camping Association.

Mickey was always spiritually curious, willing to look for wisdom without prejudice. A lifelong involvement with the United Church has led to many precious friendships. For Mickey, relationships with people were of paramount importance as a far flung network of family and friends will attest. She'll be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Soldier's Memorial and especially to the fine people in the Dialysis Unit where Mickey was a patient for sixteen years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10th, at 1p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, 62 Peter St. N., Orillia, On.
