Elsie, beloved wife of the late William Brown.

Will be sadly missed by her large extended family as well as her many friends throughout the community.

Predeceased also by her parents Frederick and Sarah Girdwood.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday September 2nd in Collingwood. Interment in Nottawa.

Devoted Granny of Kyle (Lindsey), Brittney (Colby), Rebekah, Dustyn, Ashley, Jaime-Lyn, Hayley and Jenna.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucille Therrien in her 78th year on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 at Hillcrest Village, Midland.

Lucille was a childcare provider for many years and later worked for the Simcoe County District School Board for 20 years as a Custodian.

She enjoyed quilting where each of her children received one of her beautiful quilts and she was also an avid baker known for her famous "peanut butter balls".

Beloved wife of the late Allen Therrien and survived by her children, Anne Rutherford (Neil), Pierre (Tracy Palmer), Louise Read (George), Joan (Brian Jacques) and Paul (Jeffrey Prentice).

Cherished Mémère of Jenna Prout (Chris), Justus Rutherford, Laura Leaney, Jessie Therrien and Katrina Therrien. Sister of Gertrude Marion (Andre), Alberta Gignac (Marc) and Julie Desjardins (Armand).

Predeceased by her parents Albert & Lena Genier and daughter in law Terry-Anne. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Penetanguishene on Saturday, August 30th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow.

Survived by sisters Colette Desjardins, Michele Bruson (Yves), and brothers Raymond Desjardins (Nicole) and the late Gerry Desjardins (Helene).

Always remembered by many dear nieces and nephews. Claude will forever be remembered and missed by the friends who are like family, the Wilson, Barker, Colero, Taber, and Mitchell families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Spirit Parish, 650 Essa Road, Barrie on Friday August 29th at starting 10:30am. Cremation to follow.

Devoted husband of 54 years to Pat (nee Forsyth), John died after a courageous but brief battle with leukemia at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Monday, August 25, 2014, in his 82nd year.

Thanks to the hospital staff for their special care.

Father of Jamie (Mary) and Robert (Julie) and grandfather of Thomas, Paul, Jack, Christian, Sally and Charlotte. Brother of Ann Porter (Ron), Frank (Jan), and the late Bob (survived by Louyse).

John had been an air force pilot, amateur race car driver, provincial badminton champion and radio enthusiast and astronomer but above all, was an avid sailor to the end, inspiring his family and friends to share his passion at the Shediac Bay Yacht Club, the Midland Bay Sailing Club and at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, John attended Moncton High School, Mount Allison University and earned his Professional Engineer designation at McGill University.

A celebration of John’s life is to be held later in September.

Marg was born January 5, 1917 on the farm in Rosemount just outside of Coldwater. Beloved wife of the late Reginald Sallows. Mother of Paul (Marg) Sallows of Orillia and Janis (Doug) Marshall of Bracebridge.

Sister of the late Reginald  (Laura) Potter, the late Dorland (Eileen) Potter, the late Dora (Clem) Swaile, the late Lillian Gill and the late Donald Potter.

Cherished grandmother of Michael (Tracy, Kaitlin) Sallows and Scott (Rachel) Sallows, Paul Marshall, Andrew (Quinn) Marshall, Nancy (Rob) Marchall-Platts. Proud great-grandmother of Jake & Luke Sallows, and Abby & Chloe Marshall-Platts.

Survived by her brother in law Harold Gill, and sister in law Dot Potter.

She spent many happy hours in her flower gardens or baking for family, friends, or the UCW for bake sales. Marg felt very lucky to have lived to 97 ½ years but saddened by having lost so many family members and friends.

The Funeral service will be held in Orillia on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Westmount United Church at 10 a.m.. Interment to follow.

Sime_JeffJeff passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24th, 2014 at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in his 57th year.

Dearly loved youngest son of Don and Gladys Sime. Predeceased by brother Donnie in 1969. Lovingly remembered by siblings Greg, Mark, Catherine (Sean).

Loving uncle to Michael, Megan and Virginia, all in Orillia. Sadly missed by many caring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, many from the Cambridge-Kitchener area.

His best and dedicated friend was his golden retriever, Sarah. Jeff was a lover of baseball in his youth and an avid golfer.

His brother, Mark, was Jeff's special caregiver in his final days with superb care from Annie, Irene of Bayshore and Dr. Marc Italiano.

As per Jeffrey's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family service. A Celebration of Jeff's Life may be held at a later date.

Memorial Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Children's Wish Foundation.

Brooksbank_LarryPeacefully passed away on Saturday August 23rd, with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Survived by his best friend and loving wife of 46 years, Jenni. He will be greatly missed by his children Jason (Leigh) and Nikki (B.A.), his mother Mabel and the twinkle of his eye, his granddaughter, Laurel.

Remembered by his extended family from Chatham area as well as brothers-in-law, Christopher and Russell (Jacqui) and his nephew, Simon and niece, Avril.

Larry proudly served Ontario Hydro for 31 years, then key consultant to Five Nations Energy James Bay projects and member/President of the Orillia Light and Power Board in his busy retirement. He still found time for his passion, golf and treasured his time with his Monday night golf league friends.

A memorial service will be held in Barrie on Thursday, August 28th. A celebration gathering at his local watering hole, Wickies 274 Burton Ave, Barrie, will follow the service at approximately 3:30pm.

His family would especially like to recognize the wonderful work of the nurses, doctors and support staff at Mount Sinai and Royal Victoria Hospitals during Larry's brave fight. Special recognition to his home healthcare nurse, Christine, for her incredible support.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Larry's name may be made to the Simcoe County Carriage Driving for the Disabled where he was a volunteer.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, on July 5, 1949 to Earl and Ruby.

Don was very proud of his two children and grandchildren: son, Glen and partner, Marta Brackmann; daughter, Teresa and husband, John Ball; and his granddaughters, Taylor and Evelyn. He is also survived by his former wife, Jeanette (O'Connor) Johnston; his brothers, Dave Johnston and wife, Pat and Rob Johnston and wife, Kate; his sister, Lois Holt and husband, Larry; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be a small Celebration of his Life for family and friends on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ball family home.

Irene was a long time teacher in the Oro and Orillia areas; she will also be remembered as long time and faithful member of Orillia Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held in Orillia on Thursday, August 28th. Interment of ashes in Oro.

Fraser_HelenPassed away peacefully in Collingwood, on Friday, August 22nd, 2014, at the age of 89.

Loving mother of Douglas Fraser and his wife Mary-Ann Biersteker. Proud Grandma to Jason Warby and Michelle Wood and more recently to Jeff and Marcia Gabrielson. Even prouder "GG" (Great Grandmother) to Megan and Grayson Wood, Leah Warby, Ethan and Alex Greenhead and Allison Foerster.

Beloved sister of George Campbell. Remembered fondly by nieces and nephews Peter, Leslie-Ann and Michael Campbell and Debbie and David Fraser.

Cherished by her longtime friend and cohort in crime Joyce "Audrey" Fraser.

Helen has finally been reunited with her late husband Harold who passed away on October 12th, 1988.

She was a dear friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

A heartfelt thank you to all her caregivers at Bay Haven Retirement Home and, in her final hours, to the fine staff at Campbell House Hospice.

Following Helen's wishes, there will be no service or visitation.

In Helen’s memory, donations may be made to Campbell House – Hospice Georgian Triangle in Collingwood.

Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Funeral service in Sutton on Wednesday, August 27th. Interment.

Loving sister of Rita MacIntyre (late Bill), Blanche Marchand-Brown (late Douglas), Clarence (Rolene), Marie Johnson (late Bill), John (Delcy), Norma Jivcoff (Bill), Denise Moreau (late Ernest) and predeceased by Roland, Paul and Jerome.

She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Tuesday, August 26th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow.

If desired, donations to the St. Ann's Church Building Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
