Of Angus, ON passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, on Saturday, August 1st 2015 in his 85th year.

Beloved Husband of Margaret “Jean” St. John. Loving Father of Cathy Graham, Kevin Graham (Shelly), Caroline Graham and David St. John (Cathy).

Cherished Grandfather of Alexander, Jessica and Brenna.

John will be sadly missed and always remembered by his many relatives and friends.

A private family service and burial has been held.

Trask_EmmyIt is with profound sadness that the family of Emmy Trask announces his passing on Friday, July 31st, 2015, at the fabulous age of 90.

Emmy was the cherished Husband of 65 years to Orma (McLean), devoted Dad to Debbie Rinas (Richard) and Craig (John Frederickson).

Loving Grandpa to Kurtis Rinas (Jenny), and Kristopher Rinas (Stacey) and Great Grandpa to Avery and Payton Rinas.

Emmy is survived by his sister Margaret MacDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Taylor), Sisters Edith (Jones) and Marie (Lemmon) and Brothers George, Archie and Alex.

Born in Barrie, proudly raised in Allandale, Emmy was goalie for the 1942-43 O.M.H.A. Juvenile B Champions. He served overseas in WWII (1944-46) first with the 18th Armored Car Regiment and then with the Occupation Army – 13th battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery.

Back in Canada he served with the Grey & Simcoe Foresters and was a member of the Legion Branch 147. His lifelong profession/passion was driving. He was a tractor trailer driver for CN and later office Manager for Hoar Transport/CN Route. He will be missed by many dear friends from his church family at Bethel, square dancing days, East End neighbours, exercise classes, and card playing buddies.

He was truly blessed to have been so active and healthy right to the end. His infectious smile and mischievous wink will be sorely

A celebration of Emmy’s life will be held in Barrie on Friday, Aug. 7th followed by interment at Barrie.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Thursday, July 30th, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

John Cooper in his 89th year will be deeply missed by his loving wife Dawn (Gillham) of 65 years. Cherished father of Lyle, Jan, Traci and Kate.

John will be dearly missed by his grandsons Wayne (Christine), Norman (Sarah), Eric and Colin. John was proud to serve as great grandpa to Jonathan, Hayden and Keith.

Predeceased by his father Albert and mother Margaret.

John is a Retired as Staff Sergeant after 37 years with the Ontario Provincial Police, Past Master of Corinthian Lodge #96 A.F. & A.M., Past District Deputy Grand Master – Georgian South District, V. Ex. Comp. – Royal Arch Masons, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Noble Brother Sheba Shrine, Charter member of the Knight Riders.

Funeral and celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, August 4th at the Masonic Hall, 99 Morrow Road, Barrie.

McGrath_HelenA loving, wonderful Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Helen Marie McGrath passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015 at Grove Park Home in Barrie, Ontario.

Pre-deceased by her Husband, Nelson, and her sisters Audrey and Doris, Helen leaves behind her sister Eileen Thompson, children John McGrath (Kelly), Cindy MacMullan, grandchildren Ryan McGrath (Krystal), Nicole Gordon (Tim), Kyle Patterson and Ryan Patterson (Ashley) and 7 great grandchildren.

Helen was born and raised on a farm in Cookstown, Ontario. A hard working gal, (learned firsthand on a farm with 3 sisters and no brothers) she had a long and dedicated working career. In her early years Helen was a Director of The Venture Club Barrie, an arm of the Soroptimists Club focussing on improving the lives of women and girls. Helen worked for Dr. James Edwin Wilson and Dr. Maurice Murdoch, Doctors of Osteopathy in downtown Barrie for many years.

When she retired from there, she worked at H&R Block for a while. After that, never one to sit idle, she joined the fun ladies at Radio Shack in Barrie working on the line.

She was a proud charter member of Grace United Church in Barrie and dedicated many hours to Grace including cooking numerous turkeys and pies over the years. (She also made a mean roast beef!) Helen loved socializing with her friends in her weekly euchre games. One of Helen’s joys was reading to the young children at Steele Street Public School.

Many thanks to the loving and caring staff at Grove Park Home including Candice, Marcia, Alicia, Dr. McTurk, and all who shared their gift of compassion and kindness.

A Memorial Service will be held at GROVE PARK HOME 234 Cook Street, Barrie on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2 o'clock p.m. in the auditorium with a reception to follow.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful father and husband.

He died suddenly after a great day at his favourite place, Rocklyn Ranch. Dad leaves behind his loving wife Pam, his sons Bill (Kim) and Rob, his cherished grandchildren Emily and Will and his step-children Mike, Sue (Dave) and their children Sean and Lindsay. Somehow he managed to wrangle four 83rd birthday dinners over the last 10 days, two with his family overlooking his forever loved Lake Joseph while enjoying two of his favourite pastimes... telling old stories and laughing... for hours.

At Dad's, request we will be having a Celebration of Life for family and friends at Rocklyn Ranch, 77104 11th Line, Meaford, on August 7, 2015 between 4 and 7 p.m.

She was the beloved wife of the late John Partridge, dear mother of Wayne (Diane) and Douglas (Pamela).

Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her cousins, Tom and Ross Graham.

Dorothy was an active and involved member of Central United Church where many of her lifelong friendships were formed. Her volunteer commitment to the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Rebekah Lodge brought her great pleasure.

Family and friends enjoyed her wonderful food and beautiful gardens. She will be sadly missed.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Friday July 31st at Central United Church, 54 Ross Street, Barrie. Visitation from 11:00 am. Service at 12:00 noon.

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Rogers. He was 85 years young and spent the last days of his life tending his vegetable garden, fishing with his nephew and golfing with his cousin.

Peter was the beloved husband of the late Mary Carol (Hutchison) for 43 years. He was so fortunate to find happiness and love again when he married Linda (Weaymouth) who lit up the last ten years of his life.

He loved his children Anne and Paul with unwavering strength and support and was a loving father figure to their spouses Jack and Susan.

He was the proud Grandad of Patrick (Gabrielle), Courtney (Kevin), Chris (Marcia) and Jonathan (Jersey).

Peter also cherished his role as step-father to Linda’s daughters Heidi (David) and Jennifer (Steve) and their children Aidan, Jesse, Hunter, Ryder and Nico.

Peter was predeceased by his brothers Maurice and Edwin and he will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Noni Rogers, Mary Jane Rogers and Joyce Hannan, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, his many friends and all those who called him “Uncle Peter”.

Peter Rogers was a wise and gentle soul who treated everyone he met with respect. His family is remembering the good times, the lessons he taught us and the example he set. He was the head of our family, our rock and our hero and we will miss him forever.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 4 pm at Kirrie Glen Golf Club, Hwy 118, Bracebridge, Ontario.
