Fralick_GordDied peacefully in the early afternoon of Dec. 18, 2014, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, in his 94th year.

The second oldest son of the late David Walter Fralick and Mary Selena Ronald Orchard of Minesing, he was born July 8,1921 (the same year the TTC was incorporated as a transit union) on the family farm on the 9th Line of Vespra Township.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Lilian (Nov 25, 1999), baby daughter Gail (February, 1945), sister Anne Smith (Winston) and brothers, Ferguson, Rev. Canon John (Gwen) and Doug (Joan). Sadly missed by son Paul (Jennifer) and their children, Caitlin and Noah. Survived by Dr. Richard (Nancy), Dr. John, Dr. Michael and James.

Also missed by sisters-in-law Gladys Hepburn, Betty Bedford and Edna Mae Longson (Murray) and countless relatives and friends, including the late Olive Warner. Gordon will also be missed by the congregation of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Painswick.

Dad exemplified hard work throughout his life. He worked at Angus Robertson Construction, Piggott Construction, and Commerce Court. After retirement he worked for the Simcoe County School Board and had a lawn cutting business. He was a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society and for residents of Lakeside Retirement where he had lived since January, 2000.

Gordon proudly served Canada from 1943 - 1945 with the Essex Scottish Regiment. He saw action in Holland, Belgium and Germany.

Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his strength in becoming free of alcohol in April, 2000. He carried his pain quietly, lived simply and died peacefully.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Lakeside Retirement Home and the incredibly compassionate care team in the Respiratory Inpatient Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 22nd in Barrie. A reception will follow.

Loved grandfather of Colleen, James, Keverne, Nadine, Anne Marie, Jamie, Danny, and Nicole. Will be remembered by his 16 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by his grandson Wilfrid Shane Bumstead and by his son-in-law Frank Bumstead.

Dear brother of Oscar Lafrance of Pembroke. Predeceased by his sisters Laura, Yvonne, Toni, and by his brother Eugene. Will be missed by his cherished Teddy.

Wilfrid was a veteran of WWII, member of Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch #316, Waubaushene, member of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, past Trustee of St. Theresa’s Catholic High School, Midland and the camp caretaker of the Quaker Camp Nee-Kaunis for over 50 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s R.C. Church, Waubaushene on Monday December 22nd at 2pm. Spring Interment in Waubaushene.

Rick leaves behind his loving wife Daphne (of 50 years) along with sisters Margaret (Dennis) and Beryl (deceased), cousin and best bud Peter (Monica) and their son Steven.

His English cousins Cherill (David) & Trevor will always be remembered. Leaving many wonderful relatives and friends that he enjoyed spending so much time with, the Croshaws, (Pat, Ernie, Jane and Peter), the Carruthers, (Jan, Dennis, Sandy, John and families) and the Hunters (Debbie and Claire).

Also his large assortment of pets that were always part of his life. We must not forget our long-time friendships at Lake Wah Wash Kesh. He always lived life to the fullest and will be loved and remembered for that.

Peacefully, at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, after an epic eight year battle with cancer and Parkinsonism, on Wednesday December 17, 2014, in her 64th year.

Thelma, loving sister of Jack Morrison of Brampton and David Morrison of Barrie. Thelma was an award winning journalist, an accomplished writer, an enthusiastic artist, a strong supporter of the arts and a true bon vivant with an incredibly free spirit.

She was drawn to beach communities and so loved Wasaga Beach that she made it her permanent home, instantly immersing herself in the journalistic and cultural life of the town. She also found a special place in her heart for Treasure Beach, Jamaica – another unique beach community filled with kindred spirits. Thelma was a unique and passionate soul who will be missed by all who knew her and most especially her brothers.

A private cremation has been arranged and a memorial will be organized some time in the spring or summer at the beach.

We would like to thank the medical staff, especially the nurses, at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital for their professionalism, sensitivity and true affection during this ordeal … you were amazing!

Born in Markdale on March 3, 1954, a daughter of the late Emerson and Marie (née Franks) Brown, Wilda passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 60.

Wilda will be sorely missed as the much loved wife and companion for 42 years of her husband Bob Harding of Meaford and as the cherished mother and grandmother of Chris Harding and his wife Heather of Meaford and their daughters Shaylyn, Farrah and Summer, and Jennifer and her husband Rick Johnston also of Meaford and their children Heather and Abby.

Wilda will be recalled as a dear sister by her brother John Lake and his wife Susan of Fergus and also by their children.

She will be remembered as a wonderful sister-in-law and aunt by the Harding families: Rick and Kathy and George and Jill of Meaford, Marsha and Brent Mustard of Kitchener, Glenn and Cheryl of Yarmouth, NS, and Murray and Debbie also of Meaford and their children.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial funeral service officiated by Reverend SallyAnn Longfellow will be conducted in Meaford. A service of committal will be conducted at a later date.

He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, then moved to Georgia after his kidney transplant in 2004.

His desire to travel took him to South Korea in 2009 to teach English. While in Korea, he met his soulmate, Karen, and he moved to Canada in 2010 to be with her.

Lonzo earned his Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University.He was an educator, adventurer, traveller, musician, author, and exceptionally talented painter and sculptor. He was actively involved in the Barrie Art Club and a past volunteer at Wye Marsh. Lonzo’s love of life and positive energy influenced everyone he met.

Beloved husband of Karen Whytock (Barrie); son of Lonzo Sr. and Margaret Lucas (California); son-in-law of Jim and Joan Whytock (Teeswater).  Lovingly remembered by Ken, Suzanne and Tristan Whytock (Drumbo); Bruce, Carla, Sara, Rachel, Mya and Celeste Whytock (Grimsby), and well as many relatives and friends in Canada and the U.S.A.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lonzo’s life will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at 1:30pm at the Teeswater United Church, Teeswater, Ontario.

Loving Aunt to John Fisher, Marilyn Manning, Betty Franik, Barb Leonard, Jacqui Holden-Barnes, Bill MacKenzie and Richard MacKenzie. Fondly remembered by great nephews, nieces, great great nephews and nieces and all who called her their "Auntie Kay".

Kay was a friend to all who met her, full of fun and always had a listening ear. She would share her wisdom then accept your decision. She had a servants heart and a quick whit.

She was a member of the Wasaga Beach Probus and the Collingwood Y.M.C.A. Auntie Kay loved to golf and was always willing to drive people where ever they needed to go.

You will be greatly missed "Auntie Kay" and remembered with love.

Thank you to the many health care workers who lovingly cared for her this past year.

The date of the Spring internment and celebration of life is still to be determined.

Beloved wife of the late Charles Doyle (August 1987). Loved mother of Ron Doyle (Linda) of Matchedash, Mary Silk (David) of Orillia, Ed Doyle of Matchedash, and Cathy Daley (Stewart) of Caledon.

Loving grandmother of Tracy Lloyd (Larry), Lisa Corbett (Clayton Reed), Sheri Johnstone (Dwain), Aaron Silk (Jennie), Andrew Silk, Sean Daley, and Michelle Daley. Great grandmother of Kyle & Blake Lloyd, Bobbi-Joe & Justin Corbett, Curtis & Jacklyn Laughlin, and Ella Silk.

Dear sister-in-law of Joanne Doyle. Predeceased by her sisters Anne Watson, Teeny Crutcher, and Janet Playfair Brown, and by her brother Tom McPhee.

Ida was a retired teacher having taught at South River Public School, Mt. Stephen Public School, Honey Harbour Catholic School, and St. John’s Catholic School, Waubaushene. Ida was also an honorary member of the North River Women’s Institute.

Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. John’s The Baptist R.C. Church, Port Severn on Friday, December 19th at 11am. Spring Interment in Waubaushene.

As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Ida may be made to Trillium Manor “Palliative Care Program”, St. John’s the Baptist R.C. Church or Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Passed away at the Chartwell Westmount Long Term Care Residence on Monday, December 15, 2014, in her 96th year.

Lorna Farrah, of Orillia and formerly of Elliot Lake, beloved wife of the late Ronald James (Jim) Farrah. Loving mother of Marilyn Kippen & her husband Lionel (predeceased) of Orillia and Donna Jacobs & husband Bob of Baden.

Loving grandmother of Kelly, Richard, Lori and Patti. Proud great grandmother of 9 and great great grandmother of 1.

Dear sister of Velma May and Audrey Leona, both predeceased.

Following cremation a private family interment will be held in Orillia on Friday, December 19th.

Passed away at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Monday, December 15th, 2014.

Phyllis (nee Pardon) formerly of Toronto in her 95th year was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Gillespie. Dear mother of Carol Bettini (Paul) of Florida, Lois LeBrun (Michel) of Louisianna, Diane Nelson (Daniel) of Toronto, Debra Nushis (George) and Jennifer Logan (Steve) of Colorado.

Loving grandmother of Liz, Annie, Michael, Shane, Jennifer, Lance, Dan, Ben, Elisa, Heather & Matt, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Predeceased by her brother Jack.

A funeral service will be held in Barrie on Thursday, December 18th. Interment will take place in Toronto on Friday at 12 noon.

IOANNOU, John Neophytou (Ioannis) -

Ioannou_JohnBorn February 23, 1953  in Limassol, Cyprus, passed away peacefully at home in Barrie, ON  at the age of 61.

He was surrounded by his family. John is predeceased by his parents, Neophytos Ioannou and Paraskeve Prokopiou, his sister Elenitsa Tolongos, and his wife Susan Tough.

John is survived by his brothers Nicos Neophytou and Evagoras Ioannides, his sister Evangelia Genethliou, and his children, Nicholas, Stephanie, and Alexandra.

A celebration of John's life will be held this Friday, December 19th at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 93 Berczy St in Barrie.

Guests are welcome to come and share memories from 2 to 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a small donation can be made to the children to offset costs of service and future planning.
