HEYDON, Alexander James (Jim) -
Peacefully at the Veterans Wing of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in his 91st year.
Beloved husband of the late Grace (Kelly). Dear father of Kathleen Heydon-Michell (Grant), Alexander Heydon (Jeri), Patricia Heydon (Greg Brown), Christopher Heydon and Daniel Heydon. Proud grandfather of Joseph, Melissa (Michael), Sarah, Nathaniel (Tiffany), Andrew, Jacob and great granddaughter Ayla.
He was the last of his generation of the Heydon's of West Toronto Junction. Jim was a signalman in the Canadian Army during WWII. He participated in the invasion of Normandy and fought in France, Germany and Holland.
Upon his return, he joined Northern Telecom where he worked for 37 years installing telecommunications equipment across Canada. He was a long-time resident of Don Mills and a founder and benefactor of St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church.
He spent his leisure time sailing out of Beaverton Yacht Club on Lake Simcoe for over 45 years on the boats Suzie Cat and Windigo.

Born May 24, 1954 to Wm. Ernie and Corrie (née Penrose) Morrison, Richard passed away suddenly in Brockville on April 1, 2012.
He was predeceased by his father Ernie on May 12, 2000 and is remembered by his mother Corrie Franklin of London. He is survived by his good friend Carol Clark of Brockville and by his children Darren Morrison of Orillia, Pam Morrison of Meaford and Pattie Vanderbos of Orillia.
He will be remembered by his siblings Pam Mills of Bradford, John of Owen Sound, Randy of Meaford, Steve of Collingwood, Warren of Oshawa, Jerry Seeler of Mt. Brydges and Julie Hunter of London. Richard is also survived by four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service of committal and interment will be conducted in Meaford.

Beloved brother of Jean (Bob) Wheeler of Meaford, Clare (Frank) McGeown of Newmarket, and Jim (Loretta) Montgomery of Bowmanville. The Wednesday Gang is going to miss The Brain. Loving Grandfather Sir to Scott (Haruyo) Bellamy of Tokyo, Japan, Andrew Montgomery of Barrie, and Daniel, Victoria and Emily Montgomery of Whitby. GGFS to Saya and Miya Bellamy of Tokyo.
Much loved by his many nieces and nephews. Bill was a true patriarch who profoundly influenced the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was intensely curious about the world around him, a gourmet cook and an avid gardener. Bill's love of learning and of life is his most lasting legacy to his family and to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

It is with great sadness and sorrow that Suzanne Strong announces the sudden passing of her beloved husband Jim on Saturday, March 31, 2012.

After a brief illness, it is with tremendous sorrow that the family announces his passing, in the presence of his family and close friends, on March 30th, 2012 at the young age of 53, in Collingwood, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Denise (nee Chiasson), for more than 28 years. Loving father of April (Ryan Fleury) and Adam. He will be sadly missed by his loving parents George and Ann Chodenski; his sisters Katherine (David) Morrish and Caroline Chodenski; mother-in-law, Rolande Chiasson; brothers- in-law, Marcel (Nicole) Chiasson, Raymond (Suzanne) Chiasson, Claude (Barbara) Chiasson, Gerry (Tracey) Chiasson; sisters- in-law, Linda Roy-Chambers and Lorraine (Bill) Aird and former brother-in-law, Robert Roy. He will be further missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
George was a stationary engineer and devoted employee of Kidd Met Site for over 30 years. For the past two years, he has been employed at Amaizeingly Green in Collingwood, where he enjoyed working alongside terrific new friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast who could give the stats on every hockey player in the NHL. George's team of choice was his beloved Boston Bruins and he was ecstatic when they won the Stanley Cup in 2011. “Go Bruins Go“.
George loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He will be missed by campers in Gogama and by his longtime fishing buddies on their annual May Run long weekend fishing trip “FISH ON!“. George was a person who would always lend a helping hand to his family and friends and was loved by all who knew him.
At George's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date in Timmins, Ontario.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Crawley announce his passing peacefully on March 30, 2012 at Grove Park Home in Barrie with his family at his side.
Predeceased by his son, John Crawley and grandson, Rick Windover. Don is survived by the love of his life, Lillian (Kemp) wife of 69 years, his beloved daughter, Judy Gray and her husband, Ron. Don proudly served his country in WWII as a small arms instructor. He was a long-time resident of Cranbrooke Avenue in Toronto and will be missed by many friends and neighbours.

Passed peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Orillia Hospital after suffering a stroke.
Dick was in his 96th year and predeceased by his first wife Laurean (nee Kellett) and brother Harvey.
Richard will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Doreen, son Bev (Betty), grandchildren Frank (Barb), Jason (Christine) and great-grandchildren Tom, Bridget, Emilie and Ryan Goard. Step-father to Garry (Kathy), Dennis (Denise), John (Brenda) Gray. Step-grandfather to Robert, Brittany, Shawn, Jeff, Cory and Hannah.
Richard was the longtime Principal of the Beaverton Public School for 26 years and a consummate educator. Richard will forever be remembered by his family, friends, neighbors and all the students he touched as a person passionate about both history and world events.
In his latter years he loved to read his morning newspaper from which he would choose something interesting happening in the world and then "travel" to explore it on the internet.
Fueled with some interesting news of the world, Richard would head out on his scooter to join the day's lively discussions with his friends at the local coffee shop.
Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 523 Simcoe Street, Beaverton, on Tuesday, April 3rd at 2:30 p.m.

Joan was born on March 28, 1922, in Montreal. She lived for many years in Winnipeg before her family moved to Nottingham in 1938. She was an accomplished athlete - Manitoba springboard diving champion, Games Captain of Rupert's Land College, ballet dancer, gymnast, beautiful swimmer and skater. She was also a pianist and lover of the arts and literature.
During World War II, Joan worked at Canada House in London. In 1946, she returned to Canada as a War Bride and young mother to live in Toronto. In addition to raising her three daughters, Joan was a dedicated volunteer at the Toronto Humane Society for 36 years.
She was President of the Women's Division from 1973 to 1979, raising funds for the Society. She was also President of the Allenby Home and School Association from 1962 to 1967. In 1989, Joan bought ''Belvedere Cottage'' in Collingwood. She adored her 1875 Regency Cottage and gradually transitioned from Toronto to become a full time resident.
As Lady ''B'', she was the centre of a busy house, full of family and friends coming and going. She was active in the early days of the Collingwood and District Humane Society and Life Long Learning. Joan will be remembered for her passion for animals, her sense of humour, her personal strength and her love for her family and friends.
A private Celebration of Joan's vibrant life has been held to honour her memory.

Born in Toronto, Ontario on April 17, 1941 and died in Midland, Ontario on March 29, 2012.
After a long courageous battle with cancer, Bill succumbed to his illness peacefully with family by his side. A beloved husband and father, he was predeceased by his mother Barbara Robinson Moss (1991) and father Gordon Moss (1995).
He leaves behind his wife Brenda, daughters Karen Moss and Jennifer Freer, stepsons John and Ryan Edgar. Grandchildren are; Kyra, Sydney, Daine, Pyper, Mercedes and Dakota. He will be sadly missed by his brother Peter Moss.
Uncle of Kelly (Steve) and their children Ede and Macy, and Kenny (Jessica). Brother-in-law to Richard Cook (Diane) and Gary Cook (Dorothy). We will all miss him but are happy that he is at peace now.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Brooklea Golf and County Club, Midland on Monday, May 7th from 1:30 to 5 p.m. with a tribute to Bill commencing at 2 p.m.

Helen Sara Mooney, wife of the late Harry Otterbein (1991), loving mother of Brian Otterbein (Nikki) of Collingwood, and dear grandmother of Karen and Fraser Otterbein of London.
Helen was very active around Acton. She curled, played tennis, bridge, euchre, and was very active in Knox Presbyterian Church. She also loved the cottage in Muskoka.

Peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Canon John E. Speers passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in his 96th year.
Born September 29, 1916, in Aneroid, Saskatchewan, son of the late Harry Speers and Florence McLauchlin. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gwyneth (Smith), in 2008 and their dear son Kevin in 1962. Loving father of Shelagh Speers of Cold Spring, NY, Maureen Doherty of Rankin Inlet, and Michael Speers of Barrie.
Dear father-in-law of Gregory Gunder and Bryon Doherty, and loving Papa to Sean, Brendan and Liam Doherty and Laura Gunder. Beloved brother of Dorothy Pearson, Millie Rowlinson, and George Speers and his wife Ethelwyn. Dearly loved by his nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Clarence (Curly) in 1944.
A prairie boy, John graduated from Moose Jaw Central Collegiate and taught school in Lloydminster, SK, before coming east to attend the University of Toronto, graduating from Victoria College in 1945 with an Honours BA and Gold Medal in English. As a grad student he lectured in English at U of T and United College, Winnipeg, where he was also Dean of Men. In 1950 John was called to the Anglican ministry and left academia for the church, graduating from Trinity College with four prizes in theology.
Ordained May 3, 1953, John embraced parish ministry and served with Gwyn at St. James, Sutton and St. George’s, Sibbald Point; Trinity, Aurora; St. Stephen-in-the-Fields, Toronto; and Trinity, Barrie. After retirement in 1985 John assisted at St. Giles and St. Margaret’s, Barrie, and taught numerous workshops, most notably on Celtic Spirituality. Apart from holidays, John preached steadily from age 18 to 95, and led ten parish missions.
For many years he was Speaker at Camp Koinonia, tour host with Gwyn on pilgrimages to Israel and the Bible lands, the Oberammergau Passion Play and Great Britain, and Prophet-in-Residence at Willowbank, Bermuda. A lifelong avid gardener, John was known for the beauty of his award-winning rectory gardens and for his monthly horticultural column. A natural musician, John played piano until his final weeks.
He was a poet, genealogist, and author, publishing his last book, Florrie, in 2011. In his own words, he “never wasted much time”. He was a member of the World McLauchlin Society, a Life Member of the Barrie Garden Club, a member of the Irish Club of Barrie, and an Oblate member of the SSJE. A gifted preacher, compelling teacher, compassionate pastor and devoted friend, John touched the lives of thousands in his lifetime.

She is remembered also as the loving mother of Vivian Hemsley and her husband Peter of Bolton, Raymond of Meaford, and Susan Hemsley of Niagara Falls.She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Renée, Danielle and Shane, sister Arlette Michaud and brother Paul-André Michaud and his wife Jeannine. A son Roger and grandson Steven predeceased Gaétane.
