July 11, 1940 – November 8, 2012
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Midland General Hospital in his 73rd year.
Dedicated and loving husband of Marion for 44 years. Special dad to Justine and Rob Beattie, and Ashley and Tanya Campbell. Much loved poppa to his two grandchildren Oliver and Meredith.
Predeceased by his parents George and Betty Campbell. Dear son in-law of Roy V. and the late Doris Shaw. Brian will be remembered by his cousin Earl Fulford and his extended family.
As a longtime Barrie resident and more recently of Elmvale, many lasting friendships were formed through flea market visits, car shows, his days as the ‘Photoman’ at Barrie Speedway and breakfasts with the Elmvale locals.
Skippy always had a story and a joke to tell and was able to strike up a conversation with anyone. His sense of humour will be forever missed. Brian was a 42 year employee of Loblaw’s and No Frills.
Funeral Service will be held in Barrie on Wednesday, November 14th.

Peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his home, with Leslie by his side, at the age of 57.
Bradley of Stayner, loving husband and best friend to Leslie Kinnear. Dear brother of Susan and her husband Pat Laurin of Midland and the late Martin Kinnear and his wife Dominique.
Son of John Kinnear and his wife Jackie of St. Catharines. Predeceased by his mother Frances Kinnear (nee Proulx). Brad will be missed by Leslie’s family, his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his faithful companions Charlie and Bailey.
Brad was a quiet man who was passionate about his family which includes his many customers whom he served for many years at the Golden Apple. He will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held in Stayner on Monday, November 12th.

WALTERS, Kenneth Wayne Murray 'Ken' -
Passed away peacefully following a battle with cancer on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario.
Ken was in his 75th year. He was the son of the late Jack and Cora Walters and brother of the late Ramon Walters. Dear father of Russell, Julia and Vanessa (Robert Cannon). Loving grandfather of Roy, Alicia and Madeline.
Ken moved from Mississauga to Innisfil in 1995, when he transformed the family cottage into his “dream retirement home”. Ken was a principal in Peel region and worked in education for more than 30 years.
In recent years, Ken traveled frequently and wintered in Thailand. He will be remembered for his love of life and kind, generous spirit.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to his main caregiver Rob Friary. Also to his cousin Carol, good friends Dorothy and Orma, as well as Linda, Sharon, Dee, Maureen and Helen (St. Elizabeth’s Home Health Care) and all of the wonderful staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe.

THORNTON, George -
Passed away on November 6, 2012 exactly where he wanted to be: at home, surrounded by friends and family.
George Henry Ralph Thornton was an extraordinary man.
A loving husband and father, a painter, businessman, gardener, world-traveller, practical joker, an entertainer with a bottomless pit of stories (some of them true), and a "scratch" golfer who regularly humiliated golfers half his age.
He played his last round of golf in the summer of 2012 still carrying his own clubs at the venerable age of 86.
Predeceased by Christina Isabel Thornton (née Coutts) on October 22, 1998, he will be sorely missed by his son Colin, daughter-in-law Alison, sisters Dorothy, Marie and Judith, a long list of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and an even longer list of friends and neighbors.

Died peacefully in his sleep at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends, on Monday November 5, 2012 at the age of 82, of Coldwater.
Predeceased by his wife E. Lorraine Orr (nee Wassell). Survived by daughters Meredith Orr, Valerie Orr (Robert Neagle) and close friend Don Howell, and by his sisters Berniece Cooper, Sylvia Cole, Jean Orr, Barbara Cormack.
Predeceased by his sisters and brothers Marion Barr, Gwen McEathron, Gilbert, Edgar, and Charlie. Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
At his request, his body has been donated to science. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.

PRETTY, Patricia Jean (Ferguson) -
(December 14, 1942 - November 5, 2012)
Patricia died at her home in Marchmont overlooking the millpond and the North River.
For the past four decades, Pat gardened there, raised daughter Sarah with the help of Roger, and indispensable Nana Hesselius, marked English papers for Park Street students for more than 30 years, kept each Christmas Eve with 50 or so friends and neighbours in her house.
She cooked annual Thanksgiving dinners for nieces and nephews, held innumerable meetings for the local NDP; provided hospitality to Tommy Douglas, Stephen Lewis, Michele Lansberg and many other notables.
In her living room, Patricia and seven friends also founded the Orillia based charity Paso Por Paso to help poor Maya families in Guatemala. Pat believed profoundly in social justice; she invested actively both time and material for many causes promoting equality for women, education for children, and fairness for working people.
In every election from 1970 to 2010, Pat managed NDP offices in Orillia. She considered it the duty of all citizens to vote and be actively involved in political life.
Pat bids adieu to her students, colleagues, neighbours, friends and family.

Beloved mother to Marilyn (John) Murray of Barrie, Brian (Mae) Schell and Gary (Brenda) Schell, both of Alliston. Evelyn was predeceased by her eldest son Ronald in 2010. Beloved grandmother to Kimberly Murray, John Sonnenburg, Kurtis and Nicholas Schell.
Evelyn is the last of a family of ten, who have all predeceased her.

Step-father of Beth Hunter of Desboro and Janette Shier of Kitchener-Waterloo.
Dear grandfather of nine and step-grandfather of four. Great-grandfather of many. Predeceased by three sisters.
Cecil served in the Canadian armed Forces during WW11 for a total of 29 years achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 40 years and a member of Lions Club for a number of years including being on the executive of both.
He was a devoted husband , loving father, grandfather, brother and a great cook and gardener.
A funeral service will take place in Collingwood on Thursday, November 8, 2012 . Interment in Creemore.

A private service for immediate family only will be held on Wednesday, November 7th in Wasaga Beach. Carl’s family will open their home at 645 River Road East, Wasaga Beach, ON to extended family and friends for a celebration of Carl’s life on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the RVH Foundation (Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, 201 Georgian Dr., Barrie, ON, L4M 6M2 would be appreciated by the family.

HENRY, Charles Robert 'Bob' - (Former Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #34 Orillia and Colour Party)
Peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday, November 4th, 2012 at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital; in his 70th year.
Bob Henry, of Orillia, beloved husband of Rita Henry (nee: Young) of Orillia. Dear brother of Walter (Sharon), Gerry (Betty), Philip, Allan, Stephen and Martin all of Orillia, Marie (Paul) McRae of Beaverton, Terry (Kate) of Medonte, Lorraine (Dave) Rothermund of Brighton, and Michael (Dawn) of North Bay.
Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Following cremamation, a Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at a later date.
