De BELLIS, Erasmo - Erasmo De Bellis passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 81 years.
Erasmo was born July 2, 1940 at Santa Appollinare, Frosinone, Italy. Beloved father of Nancy (Philip), Maria and Roberta (Mohammad). Cherished Nonno of Joshua and Adrian. Dear brother of Maria Teresa.
Erasmo was a great provider and valued his children and family. He will be greatly missed. His passing leaves a great void in our lives but we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace.

ELHILALI, Sharif - (March 12, 1970 – September 20, 2021) - Sharif Elhilali passed away suddenly on September 20, 2021. He was 51 years old.
He leaves behind his loving wife Sandra Elhilali, his two children: Jamin Isabel and Eric Matthew Elhilali, his mother Glenna Elhilali and his 4 siblings: Hala (Mostafa) Elhilali Mohamed Elhilali, Mona (Brian) Staples, and Amy (Rosario) Elhilali.

SALTER, Richard - Social justice activist, lawyer, negotiator, helpmate, parent, life partner, Zaidie and friend, this "little Jewish boy from College Street" (his words) Rick Salter, passed away September 20, 2021.
As a young adult in SDS, he led protests against the war in Vietnam, and then in 1969, he returned to Canada to became Director of Recruitment for the Company of Young Canadians. He then joined with Stan Daniels, Maria Campbell, Harold Cardinal and others in their organizations in Alberta.
After a brief time in England, he taught Sociology at Capilano College and in Lillooet.
His work continued through many years with the law firm Pape, Salter, Teillet to bring about fundamental change in the relationships between First Nations & Metis and governments. Together with Dave Joe and Vic Mitander, he negotiated new treaties, constitutions, laws and contracts for land claims and self-government, thus changing the face of the Yukon Territory forever.

Beloved wife of the late David "Terry" Sheils for over 47 years.

For many years Betty and Terry spent their retirement sailing on their boat out of the National Yacht Club in Toronto.

THORN, Malcolm Eric - 1939 - 2021 On the morning of September 20, 2021, at the age of 82, Malcolm Thorn peacefully passed to the next stage of his journey, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his parents, Eric and Winifred, Mal leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy, his five children Peter (Barti), Robert (Leeanne), Michael, Jeff (Kim) and Heidi (Howard) along with his beloved grandchildren Erica, Alexandra, Jake, Zack, Abbie, Jillian and Malcolm.
Mal was highly respected throughout his forty-plus-year career in the insurance industry, retiring as Chairman and President of Aon Re Canada.
He loved his work, requiring him to travel extensively.

Roly grew up in Woodbridge on the farm. In the mid seventies, he started his own excavation business and was well known for his expertise in the operation of heavy equipment, but mainly a backhoe.

RIOUX, Marcia Hampton (nee GAUTSCHI) - Marcia Hampton Rioux (née Gautschi), born May 16, 1947, in Trail, BC, passed away at her Toronto home, on September 20, 2021, surrounded by love and family.
Marcia was a distinguished professor and director at York University's Institute for Health Research.
She was dedicated to the promotion of human rights and equality, both nationally and internationally.
In 2014, Marcia was invested into the Order of Canada for her scholarship in the field of social justice and the advancement of rights of persons with disabilities.
She was the daughter of the late Edouard and Phyllis (née Gray) Gautschi, loving partner of Ezra Zubrow, sister of Jane Underwood (David) of Oakville and Anne George of West Vancouver, and aunt to Kristen Underwood (Ottawa), Kathryn Underwood (Toronto), Marcia George (Ottawa) and Mary George (Vancouver).

Antonio was born on November 26, 1930 to Manuel de Melo Botelho and Gloria Ferreira in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores.
Antonio immigrated to Canada in April 10th, 1957, after 2 days of crossing the Atlantic Ocean by boat. He was the only graduating student of English with Frontier College in 1958 while working across Southern Ontario with CN Rail. He then took on various temporary seasonal jobs on farms and in factories.

On Monday evening, September 20, 2021, Anna passed away peacefully with her beloved daughter Lemonia and niece Gina at her side.
Anna’s gift is her love that is forever in our hearts.

MacLEAN, Sister Mary Carmen, CSJ, (formerly Anne Winifred MacLean) -
Died peacefully at the Sisters of St. Joseph Residence, 2 O'Connor Drive, Toronto, Ontario, on Monday, September 20, 2021, in the 61st year of her religious life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stephan MacLean and Mary Anne (nee MacLean) MacLean and her siblings: Cyril, Joseph, Elmer, Harris and Bernie MacLean.
She will be sadly missed by her sisters Marion Maltby and Marina Trutwin, many nieces and nephews, friends, Chaplains, and Sisters in community.
Sister Mary Carmen was one of eight children born to Stephan and Mary Anne MacLean, on a farm in Barra Head, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
She was very proud of her Scottish Canadian heritage and its music.
