PORTER, Bruce - Died on October 5, 2021 Teacher’s Day, after a long and courageous battle with mantle cell lymphoma.
Bruce’s loving care and constant support gave strength to his family: his wife, Jessie, his daughter, Julie, his son-in-law, Gerry, and his grandchildren, Harper and Declan.
He leaves behind his cousin, Gerry Kruk, his brothers-in-law, Arch Ritter and Doug Ritter and their families.
After graduating from the University of Toronto in Honours Mathematics and Physics, Bruce began teaching.

BALAZS, Ethel - Peacefully passed away on Monday, October 4th, 2021 at the Wesburn Manor, Etobicoke at the age of 100.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Andy, daughter Helen Hawman and grandson Paul Hawman.
Survived by her loving son Ed Balazs (Fran), sister in law Irene Nyisztor (Jimmy) and Olga Stieger. Ethel will be dearly missed by her grandson to Mark Hawman (Diana) and nephew Louis Breza (Mary).

KING, Daisy Evelyn - Daisy Evelyn King passed away October 4, 2021 in Paris, Ontario at the age of 95.
Her husband, Gorden King passed away in 2014. Daisy had two children, Jerry and Janice and two grandchildren, Elaine and Heather. Daisy Evelyn Finnamore was born August 20, 1926 in Toronto, youngest of eight children.
Daisy, like many young women of her era, worked in the secretarial field until she married Gord and life as a housewife ensued. Gord was ordained as an Anglican minister in the mid 1950's thrusting Daisy into a rural life and a minister's wife. By the late 50's the family was back in Toronto, moving from parish to parish.

CHRISTIE, Joseph Paul - Paul Christie, aged 84, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2021 in the company of loving friends.
Paul was the son of Evangeline Booth Christie.
He was born and lived in Toronto but for a period in his youth when he lived in London.
While working as a bookseller there, Paul cultivated a passion for theatre in the West End, as he did throughout his life at venues in Toronto and New York and throughout North America.
Paul's knowledge of the performing arts was peerless, and he unconditionally supported the careers of generations of emerging actors, singers and writers.

IVANOCHKO, Yvonne Natalie (Prosymiak) - Passed away quietly on October 4, 2021 at the Ivan Franko Long Term Care Home in Toronto, Ontario.
Yvonne was born in Toronto on August 23rd, 1933 to Hnat and Sophie (née Boychuk). She married Ihor Zenon Ivanochko on October 25th, 1958, and together they raised three daughters.
Yvonne, or Ivanka as she was known to friends, was a compelling woman, who loved being social.
It was very important to her to make a life for herself, and she took a great deal of pride in entering the workforce after raising three children.

MILLER, Cissie Stobbie (nee MEIKLEHAM) - January 19, 1935 - October 4, 2021
Peacefully passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital. Dear wife to John, loving mother of Kirsten (John) and Heidi (Jonathan), and the proudest and most doting grandmother of Caitlin and Emma Wright, and Alexandra and Campbell Hamilton.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Cissie helped her widowed mother raise her 3 younger brothers, John, Archie and Dan.
She was a diligent student, skillful seamstress, knitter, and champion sprinter. In 1961, wanderlust brought her to Toronto to "test the waters".
She quickly found employment, and a husband, while immersing herself in Canadian life with bowling, badminton, tennis and skiing. Her marriage to John in 1964 brought 57 years of wonderful family life and enduring friendships.

FORSEY, Doris Noreen (Mallinson) - Passed away peacefully in her 94th year at her care facility in Toronto on October 4, 2021.
Doris was born on November 11, 1927 in an upstairs bedroom to May and Stuart Mallinson on Wineva Avenue in the Beach area of Toronto.
She eventually moved to Balsam Avenue where she lived until she married Allan Stewart Forsey in May,1951.

SHORTT, Shirley Ann (Trott) - April 30, 1934 – October 4, 2021 - Shirley gently slipped away from us in Toronto in her 87th year.
Despite significant health problems in her later years, she felt very fortunate in so many ways starting with her birthplace in Toronto to a loving family (Shirley and Gordon Trott parents), Bev DesLauriers (David) her sister and a big broad family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

CARTER, George Edward, B.A.,M.A., Ph.D., - After a somewhat long and fulfilling life, I chose to exit this realm on October 4, 2021, due to escalating medical issues.
This decision gave me the advantage of being able to assist with the writing of this obituary.
I was born in Amherst, NS, in 1936 (the secret is revealed) and I leave behind my brother David (partner Guy) in White Rock, BC, and many dear and wonderful friends in Toronto (Stan Middlestadt, Scott DeWare, Joe Lauerman, Eric Ralphe) and in Puerto Vallarta (Jim Gregory, the Hamlin-Lockington's, Rowley clan, and others).

PATTERSON, Derek Robert - We are very sad to announce the passing of Derek, on Monday, October 4, 2021.
He was born in Newcastle England on April 11, 1926. At the tender age of 3, he emigrated to Canada with his parents and sister Joan. Derek joined the Canadian Air Force and competed his training to be a Navigator Bombardier when he was 17. Upon leaving the Air Force he decided to focus in on business.

RAINBOW-MCCULLOGH, Joan Ruth (Burrows) - With incredible sadness, we announce the passing of Joan Rainbow-McCullough, aged 62, at the Markham Stouffville Hospital while surrounded by family. She passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer.
She was born in Markham to the late Nancy and John Burrows, on August 19, 1959.
Loved by the late Keith Rainbow, and her adoring husband, Kirk McCullough.
She will be dearly missed by her 5 children: Amy Ahn (Soonhyung), Tracy Campbell (Colin), Brett Rainbow (Meredith), Kerry Manduca (Chris) and Kevin Rainbow (Sam).

AMBROSE, David Edward - David Edward Ambrose, age 70, of Toronto, Ontario passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
David was born February 26, 1951.
He was a singer, songwriter and musician. One of his greatest accomplishments was his song "Masterpiece of Love" which was Top Ten on the AC charts. He wrote and produced this original hit song. He was multi-talented and self taught on the keys, strings and would blow your mind on the harmonica.
Loving father to two sons John-David and Paul-James, husband to Ida and grandfather to Lincoln.
