ZULAUF, Sol Zulauf - Obituary | Print |

Dear Daddy, It was with profound sadness, on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., that I said "so long" to you, my sweet father, holding your hand for the last time.

At 91 years old, you heroically struggled through a protracted decline, suffering from advanced dementia with seldom a complaint. Now your valiant struggle is over. I have infinite, heartwarming memories of our special father-daughter time together that I will treasure forever. It was my honour to take care of you, give you my love and support, and advocate for you.

You were a tough soldier who bravely fought on the front lines during World War II, and faced the cruelest end-of-life battle of mind and body. A kind and gentle soul, with a soft-spoken manner, you were loved by all who knew you for your warmth, compassion, endearing smile and disarming sense of humour. You endowed me with many gifts for which I will forever be grateful.

I thank my wonderful husband Erwin for his unwavering support and the love he showed you. We wish you eternal peace and will miss you more than words can say.

I love you forever Daddy Your first-born daughter Debra Stuart.
