Marie was born on April 19, 1921 in Bakers Settlement Nova Scotia.

Pre deceased by her husband Wilfrid Poirier, daughter Anne Poirier, son and daughter in law Karl and Claire Poirier, and by her brothers Agustus and Lorraine Aulenback.

Marie, is survived by her son Brian Poirier (Val), daughters Susan Mussakowski (Richard), Rachael Sirois and Sony Poirier. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Anna , Lucie, Kathy, Louis, Nicholas, Rochelle and her great grandchildren Avery, Lukas, Emily, Coreane and Loïk. Special thanks to our dear family friends Debbie and George who have over the years taken care of Marie when we have been away.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Estate’s Blueberry Hill for the love and care they gave to Marie. Burial and service will take place in May in Quebec.

Schamerhorn_AmeliaBorn in Owen Sound on June 2, 1931, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Cherished wife of 67 years of Ron Schamerhorn. Loving mother of Joseph (Linda), Maureen McCarrell (Bruce Meecham), Ron Jr. and Gerald (Maryanne).

Much loved grandmother of Joe Jr., Ben (Courtney), Jolyn (Rob), A.J., Hope (Jimmy), Larry and Sharlleen (Bryce). Great-grandmother of Alyssa, Colin, Tim, Cadence, Alexander, Madison and Brayden. Also missed by Linda Boualavong.

Predeceased by her parents Edith and William Charlton, daughter Patricia, infant brother Edward, sisters Grace, Joy, Bonnie, Margaret and Marie and brother Jim.

At the beginning of WWII, Dad was in the Owen Sound area for military training and met Mum at a dance. They corresponded with letters for the duration of the war. Finally they were able to meet and he eventually asked her father for permission to marry. They moved to Belleville, built their home and ran a general store while Dad worked on the railroad and then for the Hastings County School Board.

Mum and Dad had a love of children and soon filled their home. They fostered many children and ran a Cub Pack for boys with special needs. Mum also worked at the Belleville Hospital as a nurse's aid and in later years was a Home Care Worker.

After retirement they spent their winters in Florida and summers in Dundalk. Owen Sound became their home for a few years and then Oakville for a few, eventually returning to Owen Sound two years ago.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held at the Harrison Park Hall on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1 p.m.

Memorial donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs would be appreciated by the family.

Brady left this world much too early, just shy of his 21st birthday.

He was in Seoul, excited to have embarked on a semester abroad as an exchange student and was looking forward to earning a degree in Commerce at Dalhousie University.

He also nurtured a passion for astronomy. He was a kind, thoughtful and sensitive young man with a bright mind and a wonderful sense of humour. His presence was a joy and his absence leaves a giant hole in the hearts of his family and friends.

He saw the best in everyone and his light will inspire and carry on through the many lives he touched. Brady was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his mother Pheona Wright and his father Mark Vickers, along with sisters Haley and Izzy and brothers Jake and Adam. Brady was blessed with two loving step-fathers in Richard Campbell and Tim Godsall and will be sadly missed by step- mother Kirsten Vickers.

His beloved girlfriend Ellie Hynes was a light in his life and his extended group of devoted friends were a source of happiness and inspiration.

Brady was the treasured grandson of Richard and Dianne Wright and the late Fred and Pauline Vickers. He was adored by many aunts and uncles and 19 cousins, including aunt Danielle (Gigi) Vickers-Tjalsma and uncle Rimmer Tjalsma (parents of Matthew, Ryan and Emalie), Terie Vickers-Craig and Martin Craig (Mackenzie, Jessie, Duncan and Alex), Tom and Vickie Vickers (Mark, Erika, Abbey, Molly and Krissy), Marten and Averill Wright (Ainsley, Jada and Mackenzie), Matthew Wright, Moira Wright and Joseph Wilson (Max and Henry) and Sarah and Michael Merriman (Keara and Keagan).

Family and friends will be gathering at Markland Wood Golf Club, 245 Markland Drive, Etobicoke, on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 5 - 8 p.m.

Beloved companion of Laura, loving father of son Adrian and his wife Becky, and of daughter Samantha and her husband Paul. Grandfather of Benjamin, Dylen, Christian, Ethan and Aiden.

Survived by his sister Lynette, brother Richard and family and friends here and overseas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a great man Stephen George Buckland.

Born Sydney, N.S. He found his greatest happiness in what he could do for others in various clubs and charities.

Stephen, beloved son of Louis and Helen Buckland, survived by his sister Theresa and brothers Vince and Gordon, predeceased by sister Louise, brothers Louis and William.

He will be sadly missed by his children Stephen, Terry (Cathy), Paul, Mark, and Adam, and predeceased by son Donald (Carolyn) in 2008 - a devastating loss to our family.  Stephen was a loving grandfather to 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Stephen worked at Whitehall Laboratories in Mississauga for 47 years. He was a devoted parishioner at St. Dominic's since 1958. Stephen was a volunteer and president of Minor Oaks Hockey Association, optimist club and Canadian International Traffic League.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 9 - 11 am on Thursday, March 26th.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville on Saturday, March 28th at 10 am.

Born in Blaydon-on-Tyne, Northumberland, UK died at the age of 84 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's disease, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Joseph's Villa, Hamilton.

She is mourned by her second husband of 28 years, Sheldon H. Clark, his daughter Amber McPhail; her four children, Christine Richardson (David); David Clark (Carol); Kathryn Clark; John Clark (Susan); 6 grandchildren (Ashley, Erin, Shawna, Cory, Julia, and Amanda); and great-granddaughter (Isabel).

Joan's life was one of service to others through horseback riding. She founded Tynedale Farm and Tynedale Pony Club in King, Ontario. Her equestrian students and Prince Philip Games teams won many championships in local horse shows at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (Toronto), and internationally. She coached several international Prince Philip Games teams, taking riders to the UK, Australia, and the U.S.A. One of her teams even competed in an exhibition match at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Joan left a legacy of the love of horses to her children, grandchildren and students who revere her memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 233 Lock St. W., Dunnville on Saturday, April 11th at 2:00 p.m.

Suddenly, at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, accompanied by family.

Bob was the loving and faithful husband of June (nee Coleman) for more than 52 years. Cherished father of Craig (Donna) of Ottawa and Kathryn Laskaris (Sam) of Toronto. Much loved grandfather of Alex, Charlotte and Aislinn, Michael and Adam. Predeceased by parents Dr. William J. and Kathleen Defries. Bob was born in 1922 at Bloor and Yonge Sts. and lived his entire life in Central Toronto.

He was always a faithful member of the United Church of Canada; beginning with Deer Park and subsequently Timothy Eaton and Eglinton St. George's. For most of his career, Bob was a writer for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, retiring in 1986.

After Bob retired, he and June spent many happy years travelling and summers at their family cottage on Lake Simcoe. At the cottage they enjoyed the company of their family around the campfire, especially their five grandchildren. Bob had a real love of words.

Besides gardening, he enjoyed crosswords, reading, composing silly poetry and solving every clue on Wheel of Fortune.

His last years were spent at The Briton House Retirement Centre in Toronto. Bob's family would like to thank the staff and residents of Briton House for making his time there so enjoyable.

Roy passed away peacefully in Oakville on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in his 88th year.

Beloved husband of the late Muriel. Loved father of Linda Snowden (Rob) and Garry (Judy).

Proud grandfather of Ashley, Brandon and Danielle Snowden, and Hannah Dunlop. Also survived by his sister-in-law Marie Wilson and her family.

Roy and Muriel moved to Toronto (Don Mills) from Winnipeg in 1962 where Roy enjoyed a long career with Shell Oil and was very active in the Church of the Ascension and the community. In his leisure, Roy had a passion for horseracing and was a keen follower of the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Yankees.

The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1.

A service will be held in the chapel Thursday, April 2 at 11 o'clock.
