Passed away at peace in her 89th year at Toronto Western Hospital on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 with her loving grandsons Ben and David by her side.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Martin Patton. June will be dearly missed by her loving children Katherine "Kit", Martin Joseph "Joe", Loretta and Timothy. "Nanny" June will be fondly remembered by her 8 grandchildren: Ben, David, Chantal, Shannon and Joshua, Michael, Joseph and Matthew. June is sadly missed by her cherished great-grandchildren Chloe, Hope, Liam, Maya, Sean, Faye, Payton, Michelle, Tanner and Mason (on the way). June was adored by countless other children who loved her and whom she loved, including Shelby, Samantha, Shyla, Jeffrey and Braydon, Kali, Olivia and Colby, Nathan, Alexis and Jessica, Storm and Kirstin.

A proud WWII Air Force Veteran who later worked 21 years for Ontario Hydro, June will always be remembered for her sparkle, spirit and good humour. June used to smile and say she was "2 days older than dirt".

Service will be held in Etobicoke, on Saturday August 2nd, with a reception to follow at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 101 (3850Lake Shore Blvd. W.).

Though she adored daisies, in lieu of flowers, June would have dearly appreciated your donations and contributions be made to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 82.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter of 57 years.

Loving mother of George (Kristen), Pam (Bruce) and Peter.

Adored Baba of Hamilton, Taylor, Grant and Alexandra.  Cherished sister of Michael (predeceased), Helen, Giorgios and Olga.

Predeceased by her parents Ellia and Eleftheria Dafopoulos.

Dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the company of a large extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Mary's caring nature and magnanimous personality will leave a legacy of eternal love.

A service will be held in Scarborough on Friday, August 1st.  Burial to follow.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Philps, on July 29, 2014, at the age of 84, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer, in the palliative care unit at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Maureen was a very generous and kind-hearted person who always had a smile on her face and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, especially at "the cottage".

Maureen lived a very active life and was a lifelong tennis and golf enthusiast.

She was passionate about music and sang for many years with the North Metro Sweet Adelines Chorus, travelling and competing internationally. Wife of Donald Philps, who predeceased her in 2003, she will be hugely missed by her children Larry (Uli), Greg (Louise) and Carolyn (Michael), her grandchildren Lisa and Matt and her many close family friends and Sweet Adelines.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at The Donalda Club, 12 Bushbury Dr., Toronto, at 2 p.m. on Thursday August 7, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be directed the if Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or to "The Palliative Care Unit" c/o The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Ave., Toronto, ON.

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Catherine Estelle St. John (née Coulman) on July 29, 2014 in Calgary, AB at the age of 68 years.

Catherine was born in Toronto on October 11, 1945.

Beloved wife and partner of 45 years to Robert (Bob). Loving mother to Jennifer (Rich) Smart and Jeff. Adored grandma to Jordan, Cate and Rebecca. She was predeceased by her parents (William and Stella Coulman) and brothers William (Beryl) and Robert. Catherine also leaves behind brother David (Pat), sister- in-law Bonnie, ten nieces and nephews and their families and Kim, Ava and Ella. Her life's work was caring for her family and she built a loving home, first in Toronto and later in Calgary. Catherine was a gentle soul, a kind and thoughtful woman who will be greatly missed.

She faced the cancer that took her with the same dignity and grace with which she approached her life.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Foothills Medical Centre, Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Southwood Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Chapel of Calgary (3333 Richardson Way SW) on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.

Died peacefully and with dignity in his 73rd year on July 29, 2014.

Beloved husband and best friend of Debbie Taylor.  Loving father of Ryan, Alison and step-daughter Page Burton. Devoted grandfather of Morgan Avery.

Best friend of his terrier Rosie Rose Bud.

Larry was born in Brantford, Ontario but lived most of his childhood in Port Dover. He worked for the Royal Bank for 30 years and was well respected in his field by coworkers and clients. Larry was forced to retire in 1995 due to Multiple Sclerosis.

The Taylor family would like to thank all the staff on the third floor of Sheridan Villa who looked after and cared for Larry. You made his life so much easier and enjoyable. Thank you for all you do.

In lieu of flowers, Larry would like to have donations made to the MS Society.

Service will be held in Oakville, Ontario on Thursday, August 7th.

Age 74, after a long and very courageous fight, Arlene left us on July 28, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family, at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Born to parents Earnest and Olga Pearce, she leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Douglas, and children Michael (Virginia), Linda (Dean) and John (Caitlin), as well as her brother Desmond and sister Patricia.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Christine, Allison, Nicholas, Amanda, Laura, Jillian, Claire, Danielle, and Adrienne.

She is predeceased by her daughter Stella, grand-daughter Sarah, and brother Nelson.

Visitation between 5:00 pm and 8:00pm Thurs. July 31st at ANDREWS COMMUNITY FUNERAL CENTRE, Dixie Road, Brampton.

Service will be at St. John the Fisher Church, 300 Balmoral Drive, Brampton, on Fri. Aug. 1st, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a private family burial.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses on 6D at Sunnybrook and 4East Palliative at Brampton Civic for assisting Arlene in so many ways these final months.

Beloved husband of Jean of 62 years.

Loving father of Lynne (Michael Hayes) and Terry (Bill Fender).  Proud Granddad of Nicole (Rob), Brendan (Irina), Danielle and Hilary and Great-Granddad of Layla.  Ben and Jean immigrated to Canada from England in 1953.  Ben founded Jeamar Winches which he ran in Richmond Hill until retirement at age 75. 

Many thanks to his caregiver Daphne and to the staff at Bayview Extendicare for their kind and loving care. Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Ben's Life will be announced at a later date.

She was the kindest Grandma to Sean, Megan, Ryan, Joseph, Veronika, Nicholas and Richard. Her cherished sons and daughters-in-law, Ian, Bruce, Charlotte, Judy, Bill and Norman, her darling nieces and nephews and Ann's uncountable friends meant so much to her.

Daniel_GeorginaPassed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family on July 28, 2014.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Douglas, and her devoted children Colin (Sandra) and Marlene McGowan (Ian). She will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren. and three great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Georgina Walker, and her daughter Denise.

Raised in Aberdeen, Scotland, Ena and Doug moved to Oakville with their son Colin in 1959. Their family grew to five with the births of two daughters, Denise and Marlene.

Sadly missed by her sister Audrey and husband James Black, along with six other sisters in the United Kingdom.

The family would like to express its great appreciation to Dr. Robert Gabriel for his exceptional care and concern over the years, and in particular, over her final months. Special thanks are also extended to the wonderful staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn St., Oakville, on Friday, August 1st from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m.. Interment to follow.

George passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Allendale Long Term Care facility in his 93rd year with family at his side.

George was born in Whitton, England and came to Canada after World War II. He was a veteran of the British Army having served as a paratrooper and later worked as a plumber for the Ontario Government in Toronto. He moved to Milton in 1980 to enjoy his retirement and to be close to family.

Beloved husband of 64 years to Elizabeth (Betty) Hemmings. Dear father to Dorothea and her husband Nicholas Urban. Proud grandfather to Jaime (Cory) and Shannon and great grandfather to Keira and Carter.

He will be fondly remembered by family members, friends and neighbours.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Arrangements out of Milton.

Hoey_MaryIt is with sadness the family announces the passing of Mary at Joseph Brant Hospital on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 85.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas (1987).

Cherished mother of Leslie (Susan) Doubtfire, the late David Doubtfire (1988), Jeanine (Avi), and Lynn (Geoff). Adored Nana of Jennifer, Lisa, Meagan, Allan, Danielle, Gillian, Claire, and Jenna. Proud great-grandmother of Emran, Lucas, and Callie.

Beloved Partner of James “Jim” Ingles. Mary will be deeply missed by extended family and friends.

Family would like to thank the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for their kind care and support.

Mary was a proud and active member of Burlington Footnotes, and Burlington Student Theatre.

A Service of Remembrance will be held in Burlingon on Friday, August 1st.  Cremation has taken place.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donation to Burlington Student Theatre or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Ruth Evelyn Holt passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre with family by her side, on Monday, July 28, 2014.

Age 95 years.

Beloved wife of the late Earl. Dear mother of Rick and his wife Judy and the late Joanne Strain.

Loving Nana of Kimberly, Georgina, Kerry-Ann, Kevin, Derrek and Greg. Cherished great-grandmother of 11. Ruth joins her 3 sisters and brother.

Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held in Parry Sound, on Saturday, August 16th.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

It was a very sudden loss and we will miss him forever.

He had been ill for quite a while and had to give up his motorcycle, but it's his now.

Beloved son of William (Mary) and the late Anne.  Dear brother of Bill. Loving Uncle of Jordan, Tiayna and Austin and Great Uncle to Dallas.

He will be missed greatly by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

David was a kind and caring individual who lived to the fullest.

A special thanks to the staff who provided special care to David over the last several years. 

Arrangements out of Burlington. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.

1924 - 2014

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, (Baba), great-grandmother and aunt Janina Mazuryk on July 28, 2014.

Predeceased by her husband Gregory (1988).

She will be greatly missed by her sons Matthew (Annie) and Gregory (Inga), grandchildren Jason, Daniel, Lucas, Jordan and Joshua and six great-grandchildren.

She was born in Dubno, Ukraine (then Poland); she and her young family arrived in Canada in 1948.

She was a long term employee at TTC.

Thanks to West Park Long-Term Care Centre staff for their love and support over the last year and a half.

Service will be held in Toronto on Wednesday, July 30th.
