Kimberley Johnston (formerly Motz, nee Adkins) passed away quietly at her home, Friday, February 27, 2015, after a courageous struggle with cancer.

She is beloved by husband Dr. Paul A. Johnston (Calgary, AB), son William Motz (Vancouver), daughter Katherine Dubé (Waterloo, ON), mother and stepfather Carole and Paul Pizzolante (Burlington, ON), brother Dr. L. John Adkins (Orillia, ON), stepdaughters Meadow Johnston (South Slocan, BC), Sunny Bray (Dartmouth, NS), Brook Atkins (Edmonton, AB), stepson Sky Johnston (Edmonton, AB), and grandchildren Adrian Dubé, Ember and Sylvan Johnston, Trey Atkins, and Juno, Nova and Lily Bray.

Born in Hamilton, ON, Kimberley attended Aldershot High School in Burlington. In 1983, she graduated from the University of Waterloo (B.Sc., Biology). A talented singer and actor, Kimberley performed in theatre, opera, television and film projects in Ontario (National Film Board of Canada, Canadian Opera Company, Theatre Laurier inter alia). She was founder of Dead Funny Productions (1989-1993), a Kitchener-based dinner theatre company.

In 1993, she moved to Calgary with her children and continued her acting career, hosting the Access TV series Biologix and performing as Maria in Front Row Centre's 1997 production of Sound of Music.

In 1997, she was awarded Woman of the Year, Calgary with her gold medal women's cancer patient dragonboat team. She later pursued studies in geology and in 2008 graduated from the University of Calgary (M.Sc., Geology). Thereafter, she worked as a contract research geologist with Statoil, Calgary before winning a scholarship to Imperial College, London in 2012 to pursue a Ph.D. (dolomitization in northern Spain). Her talents extended to quilting, knitting, drumming, belly dancing, calligraphy, and scientific editing (Palaeontographica Canadiana).

Kimberley's warm spirit, keen wit, and creative mind will be celebrated in Calgary on June 10th.

Carole went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 27, 2015.

She is survived by her loving husband, for 54 years, Ralph; her wonderful children, Douglas (Julie) and Louise; her treasured grandchildren Emily, Austin, Victoria, Abby and Hunter; and her “McGee siblings” Ian (Dawna), Bob (Dorothy), Heather (John LaShell) and Janet MacDowell.

Carole was born in Toronto and graduated from Mimico High School and Toronto Teachers’ College, Many of her schoolmates remained close friends.
After moving to Scarborough, and her children were older, Carole returned to the work force as Manager of The Gift Gallery at Cullen Country Barns, where she made many lasting friendships

Always generous in volunteering to help others, she organized and taught the first ESL class for adults in Scarborough. She provided teaching and leadership in all churches where she was a member, notably as the current Moderator of First Baptist Church, Barrie.

Carole has been actively involved in Rotary since 1996. In 2006, Carole and Ralph went to India to participate in a Rotary International “National Immunization Day”, when more than 100 million children were immunized against polio. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Arch Klumph Society.

Many thanks to the management and staff of Matthews House Residential Hospice for their caring attention during her last days.

Arrangements out of Alliston. Visitation on Saturday, March 7th at First Baptist Church, 550 Grove Street East, Barrie, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3 pm.

Kennelly_MargaretWWII Veteran serving in the Women’s Royal Canadian Navy as Leading Wren, Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 and Past President.

Peacefully, on February 27, 2015 at Hillsdale Estates at the age of 90.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Donald for 31 years. She was the only child of Arthur and Anne Stanlick. She is survived by her cousins, Penny Robinson of London, Bonnie Huczik of Toronto and Wendy McKean of Willowdale. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Eugene Kelly (Alice Clarke) of Enterprise and her nephews and their families.

Margaret received her education in Whitby and in 1943, at the age of 18, joined the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS), returning to Whitby in August 1946 on her 22nd birthday.

Following her discharge, Margaret took a comptometer course and was hired by General Motors to work in the cost accounting department, which she did for 32 years. In 1969, Margaret became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 112 in Whitby.  In 1972, she rejoined the legion and served as Treasurer and then President. She also served at the zone and district levels. Margaret was made a life member of Branch 112 in 1988. She was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and the Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal for her many years as a director of the Legion’s charitable foundation.

Her family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at Taunton Mills and Hillsdale Estates for the wonderful care and friendship she received over the years.

Margaret will be resting at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Friday, March 6th from 10:30am to 11:30am followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:30am.

Cremation with interment at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.

Passed away peacefully at Houses of Providence in Scarborough on Friday, February 27, 2015 in her 86th year, after a long battle with dementia.

Loving Mother of Stephen, Megan and Jennifer.

Cherished Grandmother of Lauren. Florence was a caring, talented mother, good with sewing, making oriental rugs and cooking Christmas dinners for 20 people.

She was extremely involved in Megan's special needs community.

Mum was also part of a wonderful  Girls club for over 50 years.

A memorial/celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring.

With hearts full of sadness, the family announces the passing of James (Jim) Walter Liddy of Aurora, at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket ON, on Friday, February 27, 2015, in his 79th year.

Jim will be missed so much by his wife, Carolynn ( Chapman), his children Denise (Stephen) Bilsland, Luanne (Jeffrey) Turk, Todd; his grandchildren, Kim, Kevin, Hilary and Andrew.

In 1999, Jim retired from Maytag after a 32 year career as a Sales Manager.

During retirement years, Jim was an active member of the Aurora Seniors Association and a longtime member of The Probus Club of Aurora.

Funeral Service will be held in Aurora, on Wednesday, March 4th.

Wife of the late Robert James McVicar, passed away peacefully at Gibson House, February 27, 2015 in her 102nd year.

Elsie was the dear mother of Bob, Don and Bruce and mother-in-law of Marian and the late Linda and friend Elaine Mason.

She was the caring grandmother of Patti McKay (Doug), Scott (Linda), David, Rob (Jill), Doug and Wendy McVicar-Lew (Tony). She was a very proud great-grandmother (Gran-Gran) of Amy, Kate, Nicholas, Lindsay, Allison, Drew, Danielle and Sarah.

She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held in Toronto, on Monday March 2nd.

Daughter of the late Saimatsu and Kiyono Nagano. Sister of Teruko (Yosh) Shin, Harumi Nakao, Yoko Shigetomi, Masako Jamieson, all of Toronto. Aunt Gay will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A private family service was held in Peterborough, on Saturday, February 28th. A private family interment will take place in the spring in Toronto.

Predeceased by her first husband Clark Osborne. Lovingly remembered by her step-son Coulter Osborne (Barbara), granddaughters Julie, Mary, Katie and by her great-grandchildren Coulter, Ian, Annick and Luke; who express appreciation for the love, care and devotion of Steve and all the Fitzsimmons family.

Claire will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends. She now joins her parents Archibald and Dorothy and her brother Paul in God’s heavenly kingdom.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Rd, Burlington, on Thursday, March 5th at 11 am. Cremation has taken place.

Born December 17, 1944 in Montreal, Quebec, only child of James Alexander Anderson and Thelma Proulx. Judy passed away after a courageous bout with cancer.

Judy lived her life with passion, kindness and a commitment to her friends and family. Judy was married for 44 years to Rick Pyves and they were blessed with four children, Cindy (Mark), Wendy (Sam), Melanie and Stacy (Robyn).

Judy was a loving grandmother and friend to Damien, Christian, Nathanial, Tristan, Jacob and Cedar and a beloved sister-in-law to Colleen (Steve), Julie (Tom) and Leslie and will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

The Pyves family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Judy's health care and personal care providers including Heather, Kathy, Laverne, Linda, Greg, Beverley, Amanda and Joan for their support.

Survived by Nancy, his loving wife of 50 years.
