Family and friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby (N of Hwy 2) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. 

A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 300 Dundas Street West, Whitby on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 1 p.m.  Visitation one hour prior at the church.

Steve worked for the federal government in Customs and Excise and retired on a disability pension in 1993.

Michael will be deeply missed by his children Dianna and Catherine. Cherished Papa of Gwendolyn. Dear brother of Catherine, Mary (Stan Smith), Bernadette Krawec and Paul.

Mike will be remembered for his quick wit and warm heart. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and all who knew him.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Eva (nee Pilatzke) and forever loved and cherished by daughters, Debbie (David), Fern, Phyllis (Mike), Valerie, Veronica (Chris) and his son, Orville (Kim), his granddaughters, Vanessa, Sarah (Todd), Anastasia, Sarah Jean and his grandsons Chad, Neil (Jocelyn), Gabrielle, Ryan and Andrew.

Phil will be missed and remembered by the many friends he made during the travels of his lifetime.

Phil’s arrangements have been entrusted to McEachnie Funeral Home at 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, ON, (905) 428-8488.

A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Maynooth, ON in late Spring, 2015.

A special thank you goes out to all the staff on Linden Wing of Community Nursing Home for their compassion and the care extended to Phil and his family during his stay.

Passed away peacefully at Scarborough Grace Hospital on January 9, 2015, one day before her 91st birthday.

Loving and beloved wife of Jack Laforet for more than 69 years, Lil was the much-loved mother of Andrea, Gary (Raylyn), John (Luis), Beth (Andy) and James (Renee).

Lil was the proud grandmother of Jennifer (Michael), Jessica, John, Craig, Stephanie, Jonathan and Jacqueline, as well as the treasured great-grandmother of Jillian and Christopher. Also survived by cousins Robert, Emilee, Gwynneth and Margaret. Happiest when she was surrounded by family or indulging her lifelong passion of walking and swimming, Lil was born in Windsor, Ontario, to Scottish immigrants John and Lillias Tait.

Lil earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto while raising five children and later worked as a social worker for the Children's Aid Society of Toronto.

A memorial service is planned for later this month. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Society of Ontario would be appreciated.

Proud grandfather of Christopher, Nicholas, Daniel, Alicia, Shaun, Simone, Marielle and Amanda (John Paul) and great-grandfather of Dominic Alfred. Sadly missed by his sister Dorothy Tenn.

Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME (28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax 905-428-8488) on Tuesday, January 13th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1001 Ravenscroft Rd., Ajax on Wednesday, January 14th at 10:00 am.

Alfred will be laid to rest in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Ave., Markham following the service.

Passed away peacefully at Hill House Hospice, with her loving husband of almost 41 years, Renato (Ray), by her side. 

Cherished mother of Sarah and Jeremy (Joyce). Survived by her elder sister Angelita. Lydia will be deeply missed by all of her relatives and friends.

She loved to travel and travelled across Canada and abroad with Ray. 

Funeral Service will be held in Toronto, on Wednesday, January 14th. Interment to follow.

Nicolas Pasic, grandson of the late Prime Minister of Serbia Nikola Pashitch, passed away peacefully at Belmont House on Friday, January 9, 2015 in his 96th year.

His beloved wife of 70 years Choupie and his family were by his side.

Loving father to Catherine (William) and Michael (Sandi). Devoted grandfather to Lisa (Phil), David, Nikola (Ryan) and Kathleen (Jocelyn) and proud great-grandfather to Harry, Archie and Teddy. Survived by Georgie Racic of England (cousin). Special thanks to Noemi and all his caregivers and doctors for their love and attention.

Nicolas Pashitch (Nicky) was born in Paris, France, on November 26, 1918 to Radomir and Bebecca. Nicky and Choupie grew up in Paris, Belgrade and England before immigrating to Toronto, Canada, in 1955.

Nicky read law at Brasenose College, Oxford and became a solicitor at Slaughter and May in London. His last working years were with the Ontario Public Trustee.

However, his commitment to accurately documenting Serbian political and historical events, as well as bringing the story of his grandfather to life for the interested public, was a lifetime passion.

Together with his wife Choupie, he led a full life steeped in European tradition. He took every opportunity to share his rich life stories with all whom he met in life.

Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 13th at 11 a.m. at St. Sava Church, 203 River St., Toronto, at Gerrard St.
