Passed peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on November 20, 2014, surrounded by family, at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of Florence (nee Agostinone) for the past 61 years.

Loving father to Danny (Katie) and Donna (Tom) Smith. Much-loved grandfather to Paul (Christina), Duncan and Cameron. Dear brother of Jim, Trea, Brenda and Bernadette. Predeceased by his siblings Hugh, Shawn, Malachy, Margaret and Sheila. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Merciful Redeemer Parish, 2775 Erin Centre Blvd., on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10 a.m.

Known for his sense of humour, larger than life personality and love for children. David was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. He attended medical school at Queen's University, Belfast, training in General Practice and Obstetrics.

He worked for a period of time as a physician for the Canadian Air Force in post-war Germany before settling in Dover, England. He immigrated to Brampton in 1968 where he spent a long and happy career as a family physician. His office was filled with photos of the many babies he delivered and included a drawer full of magic tricks to entertain his young patients.

He loved his family, flying his Cessna at the Brampton Flying Club, travelling, his dog Maggie and all things British.

He is sadly missed by his wife of 59 years Winifred, children Simon (Susan), Barbara (Bruce), Patrick (Grace), grandchildren Annie, Andrew, Christina, Michael, Stephanie, Sarah, Jennifer and David of whom he was most proud.

Many thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Brampton Civic Hospital.

There will be a gathering to occur at ANDREWS COMMUNITY FUNERAL CENTRE (8190 Dixie Rd., Brampton, ON, 905-456-8190) from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29th.  Memorial Service to follow in the chapel at 11 a.m.

Beloved husband of 59 years to Audrey (nee Wood) and loving father to Theresa (Robert), Catherine (Gary) & Christopher (Laura).

He was adored by his grandchildren Ronald, Tyler, Steven, Ashley, Aleks & Victoria and his 3 great-grandchildren Lexia, Ethan and Sienna. Also survived by his large family – brothers James (Margaret), Fred (Ann), Norman and sister Margaret and the many, many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Robert was a kind soul with a radiant smile who now joins his beloved parents Harold & Blanche, as well as his brother Larry in God’s arms.

Family & friends will be received at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME – 28 Old Kingston Rd. Ajax, (905 428-8488) on Monday, November 24th between 3 - 5pm & 7 - 9pm.

Cherished father of  Céline (John Weltz) Paillé, Jacqueline (Rick) Caron and Serge (Rosanne Demers) Paillé.  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Danyel, Émily, Hailey Caron, Keira Weltz, Lucien, Sébastien Paillé. 

Dear brother of Monique (Philippe) Labrèche, Denise (Gérard) Demers, Marcel (Lise), Soeur Lucille Paillé (soeurs N-D Auxiliatrice), Raymond (Suzanne), Diane (Bertrand) Lambert, Lionel (Wanita), Jean-Marie (Claudette), Thérèse (Richard) Raymond, Jocelyne (Lorne) Sidey, Luc (Andrea), Marie (Raymond) Perreault, Alain, Julie (Dave) Stortz, Pierre (Denise). 

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Lucien and Collette (Nadeau), sister Johanne and brother Serge.

As requested by René, cremation has taken place.  Funeral service will be held in Welland on Thursday, November 27th.  A private interment at a later date.

Loving husband of Mamie. Devoted father of Eve (Murray), Raymond (Dale), and Brendan (Ginette). Cherished Grandpa of Brian, Sean, Jeff, Greg, Amanda, and Ryan.

Bernie will be remembered by Tom and Joan and family, his family in Ireland and England and his many friends and family in Canada. 

The family would like to thank the Tony Stacey Veteran Centre for the staff's loving care.

Visitation will be held at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, 905-428-8488 on Tuesday, November 25th from 6 – 9 p.m.

RAM, Dr. Saroj Daulat Ram (Anand), M.D. -

Ram_Saroj_AnandAge 84, of Georgetown, Ontario passed away peacefully at home early in the morning of November 20, 2014 with her loving daughters and husband by her side.

She was an accomplished physician, poet, artist and an incredible role model for her children and grandchildren. Born in Jandiala Guru, India on May 6, 1930, she lived there as a child before moving to East Africa. She attended medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.

After receiving her medical degree, she married Dr. S.V. Anand in London, England. She practiced anaesthesia at the University Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria before the family immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1965. While practicing medicine there, she founded the Asian Women's Association. After moving to Ontario in 1985, she completed a residency in psychiatry at Queen's University.

She loved gardening, reading, writing and discussing poetry, and spent hours analyzing political and historical issues. She was ever so generous with her time, welcoming everyone into her home. For decades, she battled cancer bravely.

She is survived by Dr. Anand, her husband of 55 years, and three daughters, Gita Anand, Anita Anand (John Knowlton) and Sonia Anand (Myles Sergeant) as well as grandchildren: Anand, Sonia, Monica and Kashia, Anjali, Anand and Sachin, and sister Dr. Prathiba Goberdhan, London, England, as well as a large extended family and many close friends.

Memorial visitation will be held in Georgetown, Ontario on November 21st. At Saroj's request, the funeral service will be private.

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy but dignified battle with Lewy Body Disease.

Blair leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Margot (Duff); his loving sons Duff (Anita) of Jacksonville, FL and Jay (Deborah) of Wakefield, QC; dearest grandfather to Gavin and Sean; beloved brother of Betty (the late Frank) Luce of Mont Royal, QC and the late Neil (Alice) Thomson of Brantford, ON.

Dearest uncle of Moira (David) Rolph of Mont Royal, Carol Luce of Ottawa, Scott (Rose) Thomson of Brantford and Kim (Terry) Biggs of London, ON. He will be greatly missed by all his family, his dear friends and former colleagues.

Blair grew up in Keene, ON, completing high school in Peterborough before leaving home to attend university at McGill and then the University of Western Ontario, where he was a star running back for the Mustangs football team coached by the legendary John Metras. He tried teaching, at Ottawa Technical High School, before choosing to study law at Osgoode Hall. He was a member of the Ontario Bar for over 40 years and a partner at the Toronto firm of Rogers, Smith, Dick & Thomson. Blair was an avid skier and a frustrated golfer, enjoyed coaching and watching baseball and football, playing tennis, and loved vacationing with family. He was a long-standing and proud member of the YMCA and the Bunker Boys Club.

The family would like to thank the staff at West Park Health Centre, where Blair spent the last three years, and extend special thanks to Jim Haighway for his constant care and kindness, and to Dr. Mah, Sonia, Vigi, Marian, Yasheka, Emmanuel and Nathalie.

Service will be held in Etobicoke, on Wednesday, November 26th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of choice would be appreciated.

September 25, 1922 - November 20, 2014

Paul passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Providence Healthcare in Toronto.

He was predeceased by his wife Rheta and is survived by his three children Patricia (Rein) Saar, Theresa Traynor, Greg Traynor; grandchildren Elizabeth Saar and Dr. Julia Saar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Toronto, the youngest of a family of seven brothers and sisters. He was employed for over forty years with the Toronto Terminals Railway. Although Paul and Rheta raised their family in the Toronto area, Wingham became a second home for the family during the 25 years they maintained a recreational farm.

Summers and weekends were filled with cross-country skiing, gardening, picnics at Lake Huron, horseback riding, golf, flying lessons, country suppers. These years were the basis of fond memories for family and friends. He was very involved in the development of an extensive tree farm on the property. Paul was fortunate enough to enjoy good health for most of his retirement years. Many activities occupied his time: bridge, golf games, cycling, home repair projects, travel including numerous trips to Calgary to visit his grandchildren. He was able to golf right up until a few months before he died.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Palliative Unit at Providence Healthcare in Toronto for the outstanding care they provided for Paul during his final days.

There is no funeral at this time, a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.

Beloved wife of Susumu (Bob) Tsuruda for 63 years.

Will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families and all the special friends from Queensdale Avenue.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13th at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 6 Garamond Court, Toronto, from 1-3 p.m.
