Elizabeth passed away peacefully early Monday morning at home in her sleep.

Dearest daughter of Neil and Patricia Graham of Thornhill, Ontario. Sister to Philip and his wife Leslie, aunt to Jordan (partner Shalene Miller) and Jennifer and great-aunt to little Jackson Graham, all living in Alberta. Special niece to Aunt Helen (Cleland) of Toronto and closely connected to cousins in the Cleland Family. 

She now leaves behind her beloved cat Max who was her constant companion. Fortunately he is moving on to a good home.

A private family celebration of Elizabeth's life and interment of her ashes will be held at a later date.

If desired, a donation to a pet charity of your own choosing or a donation made online to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation would do great honour to Elizabeth's memory. Peacefully passed away on January 7, 2014, with his family by his side at Brampton Civic Hospital in his 52nd year.

Loving husband of 27 years, best friend and soul mate of 45 years to Elizabeth.

Cherished and incredible father of Sydney and Kamryn. Beloved son of Gordon and Jacquelin Grant. Dear brother of Andrew (Deborah), Shannon and brother-in-law to Carol (Gary). He will be remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, friends and his colleagues at Toronto Hydro. He will also be dearly missed by his four legged girls, Diesel and Dallas.

A special thank you to the staff at Brampton Civic Hospital ICU for their dedicated care. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church (115 Vodden Street) at 1 p.m.

Beloved wife of Ron Hill (deceased) she will be greatly missed by her children Caroline Hill (Mark Barnes) of Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Walton Hill (Heather) of Oakville, Andrew Hill of Brampton and David Hill (Sara Marcoccia) of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Mackenzie, Alex, Jonathan, Sarah and Sophia; and dear sister of Elizabeth Kidnew of Wainfleet, Ontario.

Predeceased by sisters Margaret and Helen. Born and raised in Toronto, Mary graduated from Bishop Strachan School and the University of Toronto.

Always positive, kind and friendly with everyone, her cheerful manner and outgoing personality will be missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church at 89 Dunn St., Oakville at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15th, followed by a reception. Donations may be made in Mary's name to the Alzheimer Society Canada.

After suffering a long battle with lung cancer, Cathie Jones, quietly passed away at Scarborough General Hospital last Tuesday night.

Her niece, Beatrice, and her second cousin, Julie, were by her side. Cathie was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Tom Jones; her father, Fred Lockie; her mother, Kay Lockie (nee Leblanc); her brother, Douglas Lockie; and her sister Shirley Ann Archer (nee Lockie). She was a loving wife, a loyal daughter and a caring sister. She is survived by: her uncle Vic; her cousins Cathy, Peter, Gary, Bruce, Maureen and Patty; her second cousins Julie, Christina, Lisa, David, Steven, Meaghan, Melissa and Colleen; from her husband's family there are her nieces Beatrice, Cathy, Sandra and her nephew Haydon; her sisters-in-law Norma and Nancy; and her brother-in-law Jon. She will be missed by all of her friends including Erma, Thelma, Bob, Penny, Brenda, Margaret, Annemarie, Shirley, Laura, Tanya, Laurie, Vera, Fay, Marion, Lyn, Diane, Pepper, Samim and Al, Paul and Deb, Mary and Bert, Angela and Andrea, Mrs. Thomas and Jason, Greg and Vera, Valerie and Shaun, Tom and Kelly.

Of course there are many names of family and friends that we haven't mentioned, but please be aware that Cathie took ALL of her friendships/relationships very seriously and she thought highly of every one of you.

The family have asked that no flowers be sent to the cemetery but in place that donations be made to The Scarborough Hospital, Oncology Department honoring the wishes of Cathie Jones. Scarborough, ON, M1P 2V5. Cathie was a strong supporter of the CMHA and Julliette's Place.

Over the years she received many awards, which highlighted her desire to improve the lives of those with the most need. She accomplished a lot of good while she was here but she was taken from us too soon. We will all miss her!.

Beloved husband of the late Ethel Kurchak ((2010). Loving and proud father of Dan (Jane) of Welland, Ontario; Nancy (Ford) of Thessalon, Ontario; and Scott (Jana) of Buffalo, New York.

Special grandfather of Sarah (Aaron) of Toronto, Ontario; and dear step grandfather of Stephanie (Elias) of Mississauga, Ontario; Kelly and Kyle of Toronto, Ontario; and Ryan (Alicia) of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Step great grandfather of Berlin, Brandon, and Brianna.

Cherished brother of Gene (Daphne) of Los Angeles, California; and Bill of Vancouver. Predeceased by his father William, mother Pauline, mother in law Sadie, father in law Erland Furry; and brother Bob. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Always an Entrepreneur, George began his road to success with Westinghouse where he was a Senior Draftsman. He then decided that he preferred the challenge of sales and chose to become an Insurance Broker and then branched out into Real Estate and Development.

While serving as Alderman of Thorold, George was instrumental in the design, approval and ground breaking of the new arena. His dream of capturing the tourism market of the Niagara Region had George working with the original building designers of the Niagara On The Lake old town theme to introduce a plan to revitalize Thorold’s downtown core.

His love of hockey saw his involvement in the Niagara Falls Flyers, and the Niagara Falls Canucks. He was part owner and President of the Jr. B Niagara Falls Canucks and helped guide them to the District Championships in 1975, 1976 and 1977.

Moving to Toronto in the late 1970?s, George became a Business Consultant for the Federal Business Development Bank of Canada, where he mentored young entrepreneurs and struggling business owners, creating successful companies, some of which are still operating to this very day.

The family would like to send out a very special thank you to all of the loving and caring staff at Algoma Manor, for their gentle and compassionate care given to George over the passed 4 1/2 years.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Thorold on Thursday, January 16th. Inurnment will take place in the spring.

Born June 5, 1922, Maria's adventurous spirit brought her to Canada from the Netherlands in 1950.

A woman of faith, her greatest joy was providing a loving, fun and welcoming home for her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling, playing cards and the occasional trip to the casino.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of the late Heather. Loving father of Stephen.

Dear brother of Charmaine and Andy and brother-in-law of Bertha and the late Basil.

Cherished uncle to his nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 10 Washburn Way (east of Markham Rd.), on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

Palmer_EvelynCalled to God in her 95th year, peacefully at Lakeridge Health Port Perry on Tuesday January 7, 2014.

Loving wife of the late Joseph Palmer and beloved mother of Ronald (Sharon), Gordon (Dianne) and Glenda Thorpe (Richard).

Cherished Gramma to Ron (Stacey), Shawn (Lisa), Kimberly Stewart (Rob), Krystal (Neil), Jordon (Heather), Quinn (Jesse), Kelly Beatty (Brenden), Bryan Thorpe (Angela) and Great Grand children, Andrew, Joey, Meaghan, Andy, Kenny, Gregory, Kayden, Carter, Lilly, Owen and Ashley.

Sadly missed by many friends and relatives.

Many thanks to the staff of the Lakeridge Health Port Perry and Sunnycrest Nursing Home Whitby.

A Celebration of Life will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL on Saturday, March 22nd 2014 from 1:30 – 4:30pm. Cremation with interment at St. John’s Norway.

After a long and courageous battle Harold passed away at the age of 81 on January 7, 2014.

Born September 27, 1932 in Toronto, son of the late Howard and Pearl Parrington.

Predeceased by his sisters Lillian Gilby, Edith Broderick and Pearl Hart. Loving husband of 56 years to Bev.

Proud father of Daniel (Elaine), Paul (Gaby) and Scott (Melody). Proud Papa to Bonnie (Vince), Jamie, Jesse (Samantha), Brittany, Amy, Spencer, Shane and Amanda. Proud Great Papa to Emma, Cole, Nathan and Ethan. Harold worked and retired from Grand & Toy after 50 years of service. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play hockey and also following the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He liked a good cold beer, a challenging game of cards or crib, a joke to tell and time spent with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by too many to mention.

Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax (905-428-8488) on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Monday, January 13 at 11:00 am.

PELKA, Maria Ludwicka (nee DABEK) -

December 28, 1925 - January 7, 2014

Peacefully with family at her side at St. Michael's Hospital on Tuesday, January 7th.

Maria unconditionally loved her family. She was predeceased by her two sisters: Filomena and Aleksandra and three brothers: Jozef, Jan and Antoni. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephew and their families: Marlya Jackowski (Jerry), Sophia Cybulski, Barbara Grosse (Anthony) and Dariusz Dabek (Angelica).

She was loved by her great-niece Joanna and her husband Sam Garrison, her great-nephews: Dr. Stefan Jackowski and wife Shauna, Alexander and Jack Dabek and her great-grandnephew Henry Jackowski. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends in Poland and Canada.

Maria worked for over 25 years at St. Michael's Hospital in the Surgical Sterilization Unit.

Upon retirement she spent her time between Poland and Canada. The last 3 years she lived at The Copernicus Lodge.

As per her wishes a Funeral Mass and cremation have taken place.

Interment will be in the family plot in Poland at a future date.
