ANDERSON, Nobuko (nee Yamada) -
Untimely passed away while travelling in Japan, on May 2, 2014.
Born December 15, 1934 to Goro and Mi-I in Tokyo City, Japan; immigrated to Canada in 1967; later studied Early Childhood Education at Centennial College; did additional studies in Psychology at the University of Toronto.
She was employed by the Municipality of Toronto in the Department of Social Studies, a job she held with distinction and passion until her retirement. Nobuko was predeceased by her husband Abbott Anderson. Survived by son Michael, sisters Emiko and Yosuko and brother Hiroyoshi and other family members, including nephews Taihei and Katsumi Isoda, brothers-in-law Dr. Farel Anderson (Eleanor) of Collingwood, ON, Wesley of Guelph, ON and sister-in-law Barbara of Toronto, nephews Marcus, Andrew and niece Althea.
A devoted mother, she dedicated much time to volunteering in the field of Autism. Loved by all, Nobuko was a beautiful soul who will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Service and interment will be Sunday, September 14th in Scarborough.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nobuko's memory may be made to The Governing Council of The Salvation Army in Canada or Autism Canada Foundation.
