PARISOTTO, Richard Parisotto - Obituary | Print |

PARISOTTO, Richard -

May 3, 1944 - December 29, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Parisotto announces his sudden passing on the evening of December 29, 2014 in his 71st year.

Beloved husband of the late Isabel Anderson-Ray (2011), devoted father of Douglas Ray (Linda), Ruth Nystrom (Glen) and Patricia Mullen (Patrick).

Proud Grandpa to Shawna, Debbie (Carlin), Dereck, Carolyn, Kyra, Caleigh and Declan.

Dear brother to Nick Parisotto (Bronca), Frank Parisotto (Gaye) and Mary Ann Quail (Michael) and brother-in-law of Norma Logie (Jack), John Anderson (Helen) and Dennis Walton (Joyce). Loved Uncle/Zio to Stacey, Todd, Sabrina and Jonathan.

Richard was born in Sudbury, Ontario, the son of Valentino Parisotto and Lena Scinto. He enjoyed a long career in municipal administration, beginning right after high school in Sudbury, moving to Hornepayne, then Minden and culminating in Ajax where he retired as Chief Administrative Officer in 2004.

Richard loved history and went back to school as a mature student, obtaining a degree in History from the University of Toronto. He continued this passion by reading many historical tombs and meticulously organized his books, photos and files.

A travel aficionado throughout his life, he enjoyed taking cruises and more extensive trips after retirement.

Family was central in Richard's life. He kept in touch with cousins near and far and over several generations. He remembered birthdays and anniversaries - and always made us feel special. He created the first Parisotto family tree, to which we are continuously adding.

But we will mostly miss Richard's unique sense of humour and sharp wit. He was quick with a comeback and a humorous twist to almost any situation. His broad grin and genuine laugh will be missed so much.

The earth is a little bit dimmer and heaven a little bit brighter with his passing.

A memorial service will be held at a future date to be advised.
