POLLAK, Miriam - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam Pollak on September 5, 2021.
Beloved wife and life partner of Frank Pollak, caring and affectionate mother of David and Daniel Pollak, loving mother-in-law of Valerie Pollak, and incredible grandmother and “Ima” to Jamie and Tara Pollak.
She is remembered for her clever wit, her warmth and generosity, and for being the best cook in the known universe. Most of all, she was known for her nurturing and maternal demeanour which touched everyone she came into contact with. Miriam was a mom to everyone.

REDA, Gloria Pasqualina - (March 27 1937 - September 5, 2021) - Gloria passed away peacefully at Hospice Vaughan, surrounded by her loving daughters Gelsomina (Vito) and Anna (Dan).
Predeceased by her husband Raffaele, her daughter Franca, her parents Amelia and Domenico Gaudio, her brothers Giovanni and Antonio, her sisters Ida, Gina, Adelina and Maria.
Gloria was born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy on Holy Saturday, hence her name, where she grew up working the fields alongside her family. She married in 1961 and immigrated to Toronto, Canada.

FAY, Rev. Father Terence, Jesuit - (1932 - 2021) - Terence Fay, of the Society of Jesus, died on September 5th, 2021 at Ajax-Pickering Hospital, Pickering, ON.
Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of Hugh Fay and Susan Dunne. He was 89 years old and was a Jesuit for 67 years.
He was ordained on June 3, 1967.
An historian by profession, from his research and reflection on the struggles of Canadian Catholics over 400 years, Fr. Terry created the first comprehensive history of Catholics in Canada: A History of Canadian Catholics: Gallicanism, Romanism, and Canadianism. This was published by McGill University Press in 2002.

FERGUSON, Julia Lynn - It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Julia Lynn Ferguson, in Toronto, on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the age of 29.
Cherished daughter of Lynn and the late Laurence Ferguson (2004).
Beloved sister of Christopher Ferguson and Clare Reitzel. Dear aunt of Scotlan Ferguson.
Treasured niece of Stephen Ferguson, David Guthrie, Alison Cardow, and Janice Bruder.
Adored granddaughter of Mavis "Nana" and the late James Ferguson, of Scotland.
Loving soulmate of Jesse Solomon, of Toronto. She will be greatly missed by her best friend, Jon.

FLETCHER, Betty Patricia - Scarborough, Ontario Betty Fletcher (Marshall), 102, passed away peacefully, September 5, 2021, in her home of 60 years.
She was preceded in her death by her parents Harry and Lilian Marshall, her beloved husband James Herbert Fletcher, sister Joyce and many precious friends she missed dearly.
Betty is the loved mother to her son Paul James Fletcher and daughter-in-law Janelle, grandmother to her grandchildren Jessica and Sarah, sister and best friend to Heather Aiken, close companion to Karl Romhild and a special friend to many.
Betty was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England, May 23, 1919.
After the war, Betty and her family immigrated to Canada.

WARKENTIN, Peter Earl - Passed into the presence of his Lord on September 5, 2021, at his residence in Shepherd Village.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Cornelius, daughter Gloria, sister Doris, grandsons Aaron and Adrian, stepsons James, Murray, and Brian, stepdaughter Brenda, and eleven step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Evelyn, his parents Jacob and Maria Warkentin, and brothers Jack, John, Conn, Edwin, and Reginald.
Peter was born at Haskett, Manitoba, on May 19, 1925.

McMERTY, James "Jim" Hughes - Died peacefully in Guelph at The Village of Riverside Glen on September 5, 2021 in his 79th year.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Ruth.
Jim was known for his work over the years in Toronto's financial district.

FOREMAN, George Alexander - Passed away at Andy's House Hospice, in Port Carling, on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
He was in his 98th year. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Edith Brings, parents John and Lena Foreman and siblings Irene (Gord Ryckman), Lillian (Tom Neil), John Foreman, and Daisy (Reg Melhuish).
He will be missed by several nieces and nephews in British Columbia, Ontario, and Nova Scotia, and by Elizabeth Northey who was a great friend through her late husband Ken and became his primary caregiver.
George lived most of his life in Toronto, moving to Bracebridge when he retired from I.O.F after a successful career in the stock broking business. He continued working in accounting.
His mind and memory were sharp to the end.

CURLE, Linda Anne - It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Anne Curle (nee Wickens, formerly de la Courneuve) announce her passing; peacefully in her sleep at Sunnybrook Hospital on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the age of 69.
Linda was born on May 9, 1952 in Toronto to Raymond and Delores Wickens, big sister to Brent Wickens and Doug Wckens (Marian).
Linda is survived by Paul, her devoted husband, best friend and partner in life for 25 years.
Linda and Paul had a love like no other.
They cherished each other deeply and it was clear to everyone around them they were truly meant for each other. Proud mother to Arnold (Claudia), Carly (Jesse), Stepmother to Bryan Curle and Marsha Curle.

WIEDERHOLD, Gunter Paul - After a brave battle with Central Nervous System Lymphoma, with broken hearts we are sad to announce that Günter was called home by the Lord in the afternoon of September 5, 2021, surrounded by his second wife and step-daughter.
Predeceased by his first wife, Ingrid and son Peter.

NITSOPOULOS, Vasilios (Tsile) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Vasilios who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021, surrounded by family at home.
Vasilios was born in Vevi, Florina, Greece, on October 9th, 1924, the son of Yane Nitsopoulos and Madga Rapos (stepfather Bladge Rapos).
He resided in Greece until the age of 42 at which point he immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1966 with his family. He worked for many years at the family run Honeycrust Bakery to build a better life in Canada.

FITZGERALD, Father Gerald 'Gerry' , CSSp - (1932 – 2021) - Father Gerald Gitzgerald 'Gerry' of the Spiritan Province of TransCanada died unexpectedly on the night of September 4th, 2021 at Scarborough General Hospital.
Father Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Margaret (ne McManus) and siblings, Desmond and Joan. He is survived by his sister Pamela, his sister-in law, Breda, as well as numerous nieces and nephews (Helen, Allison, Christine, Kenneth, Keith, Nigel, Susan, Gerald, Laetitia).
Father Gerry was born May 13, 1932 in Clonmel, Ireland. He made his first profession as a Spiritan on September 8, 1949, and did his philosophy and theology studies with the Spiritans at Kimmage in Dublin, followed by three years of prefecting in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He was ordained to the priesthood on July 10, 1960. During his 61 years as a priest, Gerry made an important contribution to Catholic education in the city of Toronto.

Bruce was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to the late Frederick Benjamin Wilson and the late Anna Geraldine Wilson nee (Pinch) on March 6th, 1949.
Bruce is survived by his brothers Gerald (Eileen) and Tim (Neda), daughter Katie (Jonathon), grandson Joseph, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

GORDON, Clara (Hedy) - Beloved wife of the late John Gordon, Clara Hedy Gordon passed away on September 4th, 2021 at the age of 90.
Hedy was born in Arad, Romania to a family of 5 siblings. A survivor of the holocaust, a pioneer and member of the Israeli army. Hedy was an active and long-standing member of the Jewish community as well as being a wonderful mother and Savta.
Hedy is survived by her two children, Dorothy and Judy and son-in-law Ian and grandchildren Jake and Abby.
