PARROTT, Michael Ronald  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Ronald Parrott announces his passing on the 5th of August 2018, at the age of 55, after his courageous battle with cancer.

Michael’s strength will be forever remembered by his wife of 5 years Carol Anne Reese Parrott, his parents Glenn and Roberta, his brothers Glenn (Kimme), Stuart (Joan), Lawrence (Colleen), children Mark and Mackenzie, and his step-son James Kilpatrick.

He is also remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and good friends.

Born in Winnipeg on August 31st 1962, and having grown up in Minnedosa, Michael graduated from Brandon University with a BSc with the Class of 1983. After university, Michael worked for Acklands (6 years), Nestle (14 years), and Siemens (3 years). For over 10 years, Michael was a valued employee of ADP Canada as Manager of IT Services Americas Region.

Michael has always had an affinity for adventure. An avid runner, Michael ran 19 marathons all over the globe, including one on each of the seven continents. His wife and his family accompanied him on many of these races and vacations around the world. From walking on hot coals to battling the ice of Antarctica, Michael never shied away from a challenge. After facing cancer, his greatest challenge yet, Michael peacefully moves on to his next adventure.

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses of the Brampton Civic and Princess Margaret Hospitals, especially: Dr. Martin Chasen, Dr. Roddy Davey, Dr. Parneet Cheema, and Palliative Care Ward nurse Kelvin Karoki.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Princess Margaret Foundation, The Hospital for Sick Children, The Terry Fox Foundation, and Prostate Cancer Canada.

A celebration of life will be held at Scott’s Funeral Home – Brampton Chapel, on Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at 2pm. Visitation will be Friday, August 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Interment to follow in Winnipeg at a later date.
