Kaidonis JohnKAIDONIS, John Kaidonis - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Kaidonis, a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who passed away peacefully in his home on August 8, 2018 at the age of 80.

John was born in Antissa, Lesvos, Greece to Theodore and Paraskevi Kaidonis on December 10, 1937.

Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jenne, his sister Maria, daughter Meni and son Ted, and enormously proud grandfather to Kenny, Yianni V, Yianni K and Athina.

He will be dearly missed by many other extended family and friends.

John attended Carpentry Trade School in Leros, Greece at 16, graduated as a Boat builder at 17, and worked as a General Carpenter in Antissa, Greece at 19.

John immigrated to Canada in Sept 1962 at 25 years old, worked as a carpentry tradesman, and sponsored his wife Jenne to Canada, where they were married in June 1963.

John joined the Carpenters Union in 1963 and worked at Ontario Hydro from 1975, until retiring in 1998.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed his summer vacations in Greece with his wife, spending time with his family, especially his four loving grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Dr. at 10 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Interment to follow at Toronto, ON.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hellenic Home for the Aged - Hellenic Home In Memory of Donations.
