North RobertNORTH, Robert Harold  -  On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at home with family in his 81st year.

Born and raised in Matachewan, Ontario.

Son of Harold and Edna.

Adored by his sisters Sharon and Grace. Deeply loved by his wife of 54 years, Karen and their three children, Jennifer (Jeff), David (Lara) and Peter (Alissa).

Proud grandfather of Rose, Harry, Jack, Aili and Owen.

Treasured "Uncle Bob" to his nieces and nephews. Bob North graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in 1963 and completed his training as an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist in Boston, London, Ontario and the University of Toronto.

Settling with his family in Brampton he practiced medicine for close to 50 years and had the unwavering respect and admiration of colleagues and staff at Peel Memorial and Brampton Civic Hospitals. He was a seasoned physician who loved his career.

In turn his countless patients loved him, knowing that when they stepped into his office they would be listened to and receive excellent care. His family, friends and neighbours could always rely on "Doctor Bob" for an authoritative diagnosis and calming assurance. "Common things are common" helped us through many a stressful night. Robert's heart was with his family and with nature.

Raised in Northern Ontario, he respected the natural world and loved the outdoors. He was a beautiful skier; a tenacious golfer. Walking through the "back bush" of his beloved farm near Owen Sound, tinkering with the ancient rototiller, or picking beans in the garden with his grandchildren, no one was happier.

Patient and understanding, wise and generous, he will be missed by so many.

Visitation at the Ward Funeral Home, Brampton, on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

If desired, donations to the Brampton Civic Hospital, Oncology Department would be appreciated by the family.
