MacPHERSON, Isabelle Katherine  - October 21, 1922 - August 12, 2018

At Woodhall Park, Brampton in her 96th year after a long illness.

Born in Devon County, England, Katherine worked as a nurse overseas in Burma and India, joined the British Army and travelled to the Middle East.

When she returned to England, she trained as an ophthalmic nurse before again returning to Jordan to train their nurses in this subspecialty as Matron of the St. John of Jerusalem Ophthalmic Hospital. It was there where she met and married her first husband, Lt. Col. Burton Haley and later moved to Montreal.

After Burt's death, she married their good friend Art MacPherson and moved to Mississauga.

They were married for 25 years, enjoying cottages on Big Rideau Lake and Sturgeon Point and wintering at their time shares- first Hawaii and then Florida. She remained at the condo on Bloor until moving to Sunrise Retirement Home and subsequently, this past 10 years, in LTC at Woodhall Park.

A special thanks to both Mura and Janina at Woodhall for their care and compassion for Katherine for these past years. Katherine is survived by her two step-families: Peter Haley (Cathy and their children Jean and Ryan); Barb Elaschuk (Kim and their children Jason and Derrick) and David MacPherson (Diane, Elise and Jeffrey).

Cremation and Private Service.
