Chalmers ArthurCHALMERS, Arthur  - December 19, 1924 - August 16, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Chalmers of Beaverton, ON, who died peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket in his 93rd year.

Beloved husband of the late Helen, father to Dave Chalmers and of the late Dan Chalmers and his wife Karen Chalmers, grandpa to David Chalmers and his wife Kathy Chalmers, grandpa to Leigh Chalmers, Kerry (Chalmers) Hillerup and Kyle Chalmers.

Uncle to Joseph Mitchell with wife Lynda Mitchell and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nephews and great-nieces and by his close companion Laura McQueen and his long time best friend, Randy Carleton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shulman for his many years of friendship and excellent medical care. Art was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada, where he would go on to proudly serve his country during the Second World War as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Upon returning to Canada as a decorated veteran, Art worked for many years at Massey Ferguson in Toronto, before moving to Beaverton to build his own business.

Art was a generous man, who was always looking for ways to help others. A celebration of Art's life will take place Saturday, September 15, 2018 at BECAN Presbyterian Church, 413 Simcoe St., Beaverton from noon until 2.30 p.m.

In keeping with Art's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at St. John's Norway Cemetery in Toronto, alongside his late wife Helen, and his parents William and Mary Chalmers.

If desired, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
