Cook CaroleCOOK, Carole Anne  - May 15, 1947 - September 11, 2018 Mother.

Daughter. Wife. Grandmother. Sister. Friend.

Freed from struggle and illness, Carole Anne Cook ("CC") passed away in Toronto on September 11, 2018.

Predeceased by her great love and husband of 31 years, Robert Cook and her parents Kenneth and Dorothy Dinner.

Carole is held in the hearts of so many, including her children Jodi (Chris), Rob (Carmine) and Brennan (Joanna), her grandchildren Emerson, Tessa, Miranda, Marlowe, Ruby, Ryder and Nicole, her brother Kenny Dinner and dear cousin Deirdre Malone.

A gifted storyteller, Carole would hold court with tales about seeing The Beatles' only Canadian concert at Maple Leaf Gardens, being mistaken for Elizabeth Taylor (on more than one occasion…) and serving tea to His Royal Highness Prince Philip (with special clearance from Buckingham Palace). Carole loved to host a great party – she was happiest doing for others. Carole lived an exceptional life, driven by love and generosity right until the end.

No sad funeral – Carole is too busy at The Anatomy School at the University of Toronto, teaching the next generation of doctors and scientists.

A joyous celebration of life will follow at a later date.

Her family is thankful for the care of the exceptional team of doctors at Toronto General Hospital's Respirology and Lung Transplant departments (with special thanks to Dr. Lee Fidler), and her longtime friend and physician Dr. Bernie Gosevitz.

The family also thanks the staff at Hazelton Place Retirement Residence and Optimum Care for the comfort they gave Carole in her last months. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider donations to Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation's Education Campaign or Live On: The Transplant Campaign.
