Fitzpatrick GertrudeFITZPATRICK, Gertrude (nee MILNER)  - Passed away at the age of 92, on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

She left us peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.

She was surrounded by the love of her family.

Gert arrived in Canada from Inchicore, Dublin in 1954 with husband Bill Fitzpatrick (1925-1983) and her two oldest children.

One of thirteen siblings, she left her large and loving family behind to build a new life in Canada.

They settled in the east end of Toronto and 4 more children followed.

She filled her children's lives with laughter and fun, colour, etiquette and above all, love. Gert leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was devastated by the loss of 10-year-old granddaughter Cristin Fitzpatrick in 1994. The circle of life goes on though, as there are two new additions on the way. We know there is a great reunion happening now. She will be thrilled to once again meet her twin brother Jack, who passed away in January of 2017. She is reunited with the people she loved who went before her. She leaves behind her children Bill and wife Betty, Christine and husband Gary, Maire and husband Brad, Terry and wife Sue, Kathleen and husband Trevor and youngest daughter Jacquie.

Her sister Hilda, 97, sends her love from Ireland. Many thanks to the caregivers who took such amazing care of our mother over the past couple of years, to the staff at Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie and all the support from individuals too numerous to mention. These people did not just care for her, they loved her. She was and always will be, loved.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, Toronto, on Saturday, October 20th at 2 p.m. There will be a private interment for the family preceding the Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society and the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
