GENTILE, Robert John - With profound sadness we announce that Robert passed away on September 23, 2018 at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Norma, and daughters Andrea (Julie Rocha) and Nicolette (David Caughell).
He was the proud and adoring grandpa to Emmett, Niah, Shaelen, and Olivia.
Bob was devoted to his career in education, starting as a teacher in the Scarborough Board in 1970 and retiring as principal of Woburn C.I. in 2002.
Bob was also a handyman and took great pleasure in building and fixing things. He loved spending summers with his family at the cottage, and after retirement enjoyed his warm winters and good friends in Florida.
Bob was well respected and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 9:00 on Thursday, September 27th at Dixon - Garland Funeral Home, Markham. The service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 28th.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Union Villa for their kindness and compassion during Bob’s stay there.
