Haffey BarbaraHAFFEY, Barbara Joan  - October 13, 1930 – December 7, 2018

Barbara Joan Haffey (nee Weston) died peacefully at the Thompson House nursing home on Thursday, December 7, 2018.

Loving wife for nearly 65 years to her late husband, Matthew Joseph Haffey.

Sweet loving mother to Joe, Kelly Anne (John MacRae), Dan (Helen) and Sam (Sarah Rocchi).

Dear grandmother/ Nanni to Gregory (Lisa) and Samantha Durrell and Jen (Ryan Horne); Sean and Sarah Haffey; and Fiona Rocchi and Weston Haffey; and, great-grandmother of Kira Durrell. Dear daughter of the late Harry and Elsie Weston; sister of Bob Weston.

Aunt to Scott, Christine, Michael, and Andrew; K.C. Haffey (Carolann) and Colin (Donna); and to Tim, Peter (Roula), Paula (Warren), and Nancy (John). Sister-in-law to the late Paul Haffey (Joan), late Jim Haffey (late Freda) and the late Irene Haffey.

Cousin to the late Jackie Hitchings.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and support workers at Thompson House.

Barbara was born in Toronto on October 13, 1930. She grew up in Leaside and spent most of her married years in Willowdale, Thornhill, and Collingwood. She was a loving mother and an avid curler, golfer, skier, cottager, and bridge player.

She was appreciated by all who knew her for her extremely kind and gentle nature.

The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles -- Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, on Monday, December 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anselm Church, 1 MacNaughton Road, on Tuesday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m.

If desired, in Barbara's memory, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
