Olesen SheilaOLESEN, Sheila  - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sheila Olesen (nee Spencer), wife of the late Ole Olesen on December 12, 2018 at RVH in Barrie.

She will be forever missed by her daughter Lynda Olesen, son-in-law Antonio Macaluso and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Sheila was born in Westmount (Cape Breton) on July 6, 1935 to parents Alexander Spencer (predeceased) and Laura Spencer (nee Burns, predeceased) along with siblings Aubrey Spencer (predeceased), Helen Crawford (predeceased) and Jack Spencer (predeceased).

Sheila grew up in Toronto and found her love and calling with Ole and Lynda on their farm in Innisfil for over 40 years.

As an active member of the community especially through the Friends of Library and her work with McDonald's and the Catholic Women's League her passion and spirit will be greatly missed. She will be remembered as a woman who was passionate about friends and family and fearless about life; always up for an adventure and always ready to lend a hand.

She could be counted upon to be a source of wisdom about almost everything in life and her homes were always full of lots of friends, loved ones and laughter.

Family and friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie, on Sunday, December 16th, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, December 17th, from 10 a.m. until the time a celebration of Sheila's life will take place as a Mass at St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie, starting at 12 p.m. Cremation will follow.
