DeMaria GiuseppeDeMARIA, Giuseppe - On March 12, 2019, Giuseppe DeMaria loving, devoted husband and father passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side at 79 years old. His six-year battle with ALS had come to an end.

Joe was born in Italy, San Giorgio, Morgetto, Calabria on March 23, 1939. He married the love of his life Rina the Sicilain. They raised 3 wonderful children, Carmela, Domenic, and Kathy together.

They have 5 grandchildren, Judeam, Celine, Christian, Cameron, Luca and his first great grandchild Justin Joseph.

Joe was a hard working man always making sure to provide for his family and he knew how to enjoy life. He loved going hunting and fishing with his friends and would never pass it up as he cherished the time spent together. The card games would last into the wee hours of the morning and no one was allowed to enter the room if they were not part of the club (funny memories).

Joe was known for his low whispering voice, (where everyone had to ask him to repeat himself). But most of all, he was known for his big heart, generousity, his loyalty and respect for his family and friends. He was the man everyone knew they could count on in good and bad times. Our father taught us how to live courageously and love openly. The many family trips we took together will be forever be engraved in our hearts.

Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge) on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 6-9 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church (100 Bainbridge Avenue, Woodbridge) on Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.

"We love you, we miss you and we will never forget you. Rest in peace."
