BOND, Austin Caswell  -  Died in hospital on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 85.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn (née Robson), his nieces, Catherine (Dave Mills) Bond-Mills of London and Valerie (Chris) Powell of Toronto, his nephew, David (Marsha) Bond, his cousin, Hubert (Joan) Caswell, his great nieces and nephews, Brendan and Allie Mills, Hannah, Noah, Abigail, and Benjamin Powell, and Caitlyn and Amanda Bond, as well as his beloved cocker spaniels, Polo and Chase.

Austin is predeceased by his brother David Bond and sister-in-law Judith Bond.

Austin was born on June 7th, 1933 in Bathurst, New Brunswick to Ronald Bond and Nettie Bond (née Caswell). He attended Acadia University for his bachelor’s degree in science and McGill University for his chemical engineering degree. He married Gwen in 1959. He worked for Union Carbide and then FMC Canada until retirement.
 Austin loved the outdoors and spent many summer days at his cottage(s) and out on his boat. The Maritimes held a special place in his heart throughout his life, and he visited often. He loved his family and was known for his generous ways.

Gwen would like to extend her gratitude to the Centenary Hospital staff members who were so professional and attentive as they managed Austin’s care in his final days.

A Visitation will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, at 2900 Kingston Road, in Toronto, Ontario, on Monday, March 18th at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 3:00 p.m. A reception will be held immediately afterward.
