Smith TimSMITH, Timothy 'Tim' - Left this mortal coil peacefully on March 14, 2019, at home in Toronto with his beloved pup Ringo by his side and a glass of red wine in front of him.

He was on his laptop looking at videos of the RV that he and Diane were planning on buying, for their retirement.

Comfortable in CN work wear or dressed in a tuxedo going to a ball, Tim was unique. He collected sterling silver, fine art and dressed impeccably, no matter the occasion.

Tim had a 29 year career at CN Rail starting as a Brakeman. His last position was as an On The Job Trainer for all the new conductor hires, in the GTA. He excelled at everything he did with his diligence and dependability.

In 2018 he won the prestigious President's Award of Excellence in Safety, for his leadership of the New Hire Training Program. Tim was proud to be the President of Teamsters Canada Rail - Division 70. He will be missed as a valuable employee, leader and mentor, to the Brotherhood and CNR.

His wife Diane and his two daughters Emilie and Rosie will forever miss his humour, generosity and guidance. They consider themselves lucky to have spent the time with him, that they were granted.

Tim also leaves his mother Patricia Smith (neeWigglesworth), his late father Michael, his siblings Theresa, Damian (Grace), Dawn Marie (Tom) and Vincent (Yuki); as well as, his nephews and nieces Zachary, Joshua, Alex , Caitlin  and Jake.

Tim's family welcomes you to join them for a celebration of his life.

Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on March 19th from 4:00 PM - 08:00 PM. The service will take place in the chapel on March 20th at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to help with the cost of funeral expenses and for an educational fund for his daughters.
