MATIAS, Nobelito Lapuz - It is with great sadness that the family of Nobelito Lapuz Matias announces his passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the age of 85 years.
Nobel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Catherine and his children, Edward (Karen) and Kimberly (Keith) Derige.
Nobel will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Tyler, Cody and Kiana.
Nobel was born in the Philippines, and immigrated to Toronto where he set roots and worked for the Ontario Government for 31 years.
A viewing service will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. through 9 p.m., at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, Ontario. A Funeral Service in memory of Nobel will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Parish, 5633 Hwy 7, Markham, Ontario, with Father Gerard officiating. Interment will follow.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Nobel to the Canadian Cancer Society or Markham Stouffville Hospital.
