HUGHES, Joan - (September 3, 1936 – June 20, 2019) - Died after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Born in Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland to parents Edward and Lil Armstrong (nee McCartney). Predeceased by her husband James Robert Hughes (d. July 1989).
Loving Mother of Edward (Bette), Paul (Rita), the late Stephen (d. June 10, 2019), Michael and Tracey. Proud Grandmother of, Scott, Kathleen, Jacob, Ariel, Jack and Griffin.
Joan was predeceased by her brother Eddie and Sisters Lila and Molly.
For most of her days, Joan led a very active life. Family and friends in Canada, Northern Ireland and Scotland were everything to her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation for Joan will be held Wednesday, June 26th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, Ontario.
