Pappano CaterinaPAPPANO, Caterina Ines (Finelli) - Loving mother, nonna and bisnonna, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Caterina was born on January 21, 1928 in Roseto Valfortore to Rosa and Donato Finelli.

In 1947 she married Filippo Pappano and they welcomed 2 children, Vito (Carm) and Josie (predeceased by Jack).

In 1953 the family emigrated to Canada and welcomed 2 more children, Rosie (predeceased by Steve) and Ina ( Geoff). Caterina was a proud Canadian and took her civic duty seriously, never missing an opportunity to vote. Widowed in 1969, she worked hard as a machine operator to support and care for her young family. She worked at Stackpole and retired at age 66.

Caterina lived to entertain and feed her family and friends. There was always room at her table for one or more guests. She was a loving nonna to her grandchildren, Phillip (Courtney), Jennifer, Johnny (Mandy), Daniel (Natalie), Richard (Valerie), Katherine (James), Victoria (Dan), Matthew and Laura. She was proud to be a bisnonna to Kiana, Olivia, James, Lucas, Asher, Charlotte, Leighton and Max.( born on her 91st birthday)

Caterina is survived by her sister-in-law Doris, brother-in-law Savino and predeceased by her siblings, Antoinetta, Assunta, Lucia, Elisabetta and Matteo. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, Toronto on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5pm to 9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10am at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 625 Atwater Ave., Mississauga. Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital, Caterina’s favourite charity.
