He emigrated from Italy in 1963 and came to Canada to join 4 of his brothers in search of a better life. He found it on a New Year’s Eve blind date when he met his future bride.

He was deeply loved and will forever be missed by his wife of 53 years Olga and his children David and Rick, and daughters in law Lori and Janet. May he be the guardian angel of his 3 grandchildren Logan, Alessio and Eva.

Predeceased by his brothers Sergio, Pio, Vittorio, Elio, Lucio, his brothers in law, Emilio Riondato, Joe Gargaro and his sisters in law, Marta Crudo, Flora Trevisan and Rosina Morassut.

Renato was a man of many faces, each one with a smile. He was a very proud husband, father, grandfather and Alpino. He loved sports, especially soccer and F1 Racing. He was a skilled mason who especially enjoyed working with marble. He was an avid gardener who shared his bountiful harvest with everybody. He loved large family gatherings where he always made sure everyone felt loved and welcomed.

He will be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews both in Canada and in Italy, where he made sure to visit every summer. His many friends will miss him at the Bocce courts, Briscola tables, and Alpini functions and events.
