Patel JohnPATEL, John - John Patel passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Markham Stouffville Hospital on December 26, 2020 in his 92nd year.

Devoted husband of Violet Patel for 56 years.

Son of the late Gertrude Viola Salvador and Cowas Jijibhai Patel.

Beloved father of James (deceased), Stephen (Cheryl), Gloria (Zahid), Mark, Ashley (Barbara) and Mary Ann.  Brother of Natasha and late brothers, Percival and Jarvis.

John will be remembered through his grandchildren, Marcel (Jagruti), Lisa, Phillip (Jennifer), Vincent (Bianca), Marcus, Michelle (Subir), Jason, Sharon (Christopher), Nafisa (Mehtab), Zeba (Irfan), Sheiba (Choi) and Danish (Candy).  He will also be remembered by his great grandchildren Tabish, Kaif, Almas, Afnan, Jaden, Antisha, Caitlyn, Charlotte, Shivon, Sierra, Braeden, Kaitlyn, Braelynn, Mila and Makaela. John will also be remembered by his niece, Anna (Brian).

John was born and raised in Kolkata, India on October 1st, 1929.  He emigrated to Canada in the early ‘80s with his wife, Violet. John valued family, religion and an honest day’s work above all else, earning respect and friendship and he travelled to many places in the world.  He was an extremely hardworking man and retired at the age of 82. 

Heaven has earned a passionate and humorous angel, and he will be greatly missed as Daddy, Dada and Grand Dada.

John will be laid to rest at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery where his wife resides.  Due to current restrictions, live virtual Mass will be available on Thursday, December 31st at 10:30am EST, via St. Thomas The Apostle Church facebook page https://www.facebook.com/St-Thomas-the-Apostle-Special-Masses-104831758124672/

Visitation and burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted with Ogden funeral home, Scarborough.
