Karantakis NikolaosKARANTAKIS, Nikolaos - (1937 - 2021) - Nikolaos Karantakis, 83, of Toronto, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Born in Sarakinino, Vlachia, Evia, Greece to the late Anesti and Xenia (nee Tarlas) on December 18, 1937, he was the third of their 5 children. Predeceased by brother Peter, he is survived by George, Eleni and Sotiria.

Nikolaos travelled the world on merchant ships before immigrating to Canada. He married Vasiliki (nee Papadopoulos) in Toronto on Christmas Day in 1966 and through hard work and many challenges typical of immigrant life, they raised three children who he proudly leaves behind: Xenia (Terry Avramidis), Peter (Luisa), and Anesti.

He was a loving and enamoured pappou of Nicolette, Julianna, Hope, and Zoe, Nicholas and Theodore, Cole and Mia, as well uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews, both here and abroad.

His tenacity, love of life and protecting those he loved will live on in our hearts forever.

Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, WOODBRIDGE Chapel.

Donations in Nikolaos' memory may be made to CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) or the Alzheimer Society.
