VLAHOS, Sofia - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sophie Vlahos on April 18, 2021.
Beloved wife of 67 years to Nick, dear mother to Helen (George), Diane and Jim (Lisa), revered grandmother to Diane (Fred), Paul (Anna), Michael, Hailey and Nicholas and treasured great-grandmother to Ashley, Megan, Emma, and Sofia.
She is finally joined in heaven with her daughter Diane who passed away as a young child.
A devoted wife and mother who was tireless and self sacrificing for her family. She was a beautiful and caring person who cared deeply for her family and truly was the pillar of strength for all of us.
Born in Besfina, Greece, February 11, 1934, her early years as a child and young adult were challenging and heart breaking but both her and Nick persevered and came to Canada to start a new life. Assisted with much support from friends and extended family, her own family blossomed and grew.
Her life touched so many others in so many ways and she will be terribly missed by all.
Arrangements entrusted with Newediuk funeral home. Due to Covid protocol, only immediate family will be allowed at the funeral services and gravesite ceremony. Private funeral will be held on Wednesday April 21st.
