VERNILE, Antonietta - (2 April, 1933 – 23 April, 2021) - Born in Cassino, Italy. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonietta after succumbing to pneumonia.
Beloved wife of Carmine (deceased 2020), and devoted mother to Nina Comparelli (Sergio), Eva Bezugly (Tom), and Daiene Vernile (John Matlock).
Loving Nonna of Christopher (Carmela), Daniel (Stefania), David, Steven (Alexandra), Ryan (Connie), Amanda, Jordan (Victoria), Andrew, Curtis, and Claire. She was a doting Bisnonna to Gabriella, Julianna, Michael, and Christian.
Married in 1954, she and her husband immigrated to Toronto in 1957. Antonietta was a dependable worker for many years and later supported her husband in his business. She had an abundance of energy, was outgoing and happiest in her kitchen cooking Italian food and entertaining her family and friends.
Antonietta loved gardening, the cottage, swimming, and, was an avid reader.
There will be a private service on Tuesday, April 27th, at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, Thornhill with a memorial mass and celebration of life to be conducted at a later date due to the pandemic.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
