Bolonnie PeterBOLONNIE, Peter Aloysius - Passed away late night on April 23, 2021 in Toronto, ON, Canada.

He’s a graduate of St. Anthony’s College in Kandy, Sri Lanka and was a leading businessman in Negombo, Sri Lanka. After an arranged marriage by his family he met his wife Everista Mercy and fell in love very quickly then went to have two beautiful children. Family was always the forefront of his life.

He was a big advocate for helping the refugees in Sri Lanka during the civil war. He worked with multiple churches to make sure the displaced families received things they needed to survive. Especially the kids he made sure they had toys, clothes to help them ease the hard times. He also helped churches in the north to rebuild that was destroyed due to the civil war and build new churches in upcoming neighborhoods.

After the family moved to Canada he was very involved in Our Lady of Lourdes church in Toronto. He volunteered in St. Vincent de Paul, Food bank, various church services and he was an Eucharist minister for a very long time. He always worked remarkably close with church throughout his life. No matter how busy he was with his taxi business he always made time to help anyone in need.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Everista Mercy and his two children Anton (Antoinette) and Priyani (Mark) and two grandchildren Anastasia and Magnus. He will also be missed by his siblings Patricia, Berty, Placida, Kingsley, Roseman, Irvin. In law siblings Olympia and Gregory.

He was predeceased by his father Edwin and Mother Charlotte, father-in-law Steven and Mother-in-law Ansalene. His siblings Christie, Dorin and Ivin.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday April 28, 2021 1pm at Our lady of Lourdes Church, Toronto, officiating Rev Fr. John Sullivan SJ., Rev. Fr. Daryl Miranda SJ., Rev. Fr. William Mbugua SJ., Rev Fr. Terry Fay SJ., Rev. Fr. John Pungente SJ. and Rev. Fr. Jack Costello SJ. The funerals and visitations will be by invitation only.
