PINKERTON, John - 1928 - 2021 John died on April 23, 2021, at age 93.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Peggy (Campbell), sons, Cam (Jill) and Chris (Gail), grandchildren, Jonathan (April), Sarah, Chloe, Tess, Kai and Carly, and great-granddaughter, Charlotte; his sister, Shan Abate and family, and the family of his late sister, Pat Porter.
His career was in insurance, culminating in the proprietorship of his own insurance claims business.
As well, he was an enthusiastic sometime boat- and cottage-builder, a willing volunteer, and an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Islington.
He is fondly remembered by family and friends for his generosity, warmth, positive influence and great stories.
In later years, he was met with several medical challenges which he endured with grace and good humour.
Many thanks to Dr. Ziai and the wonderful Palliative Care team at the Dorothy Ley Hospice for their attentive and compassionate care of John in his final weeks.
