Angelidis DannyANGELIDIS, Constantinos 'Danny' - It is with profound sadness that we announce that on Thursday, April 29, 2021, Danny passed away peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 10, 1938 in Alona-Armensko, Greece to the late Efthimios and Elinka, he was the youngest of 6 children. At age 18, he immigrated to Canada arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, N.S. From there, he boarded a train to Toronto to join his father and 2 brothers.

Danny was immensely proud of his heritage and passionate about dancing and, in the 50’s and 60’s, he performed in Toronto’s first Macedonian folk dance group. He was also a lifelong and active member of the Alona-Armensko Benevolent Association.

Danny spent his career working in the food and beverage industry as the proprietor of Crown Vegetables, Toronto Bread Co. and eventually Crystal Ice Mfg. Co. for 29 years.

Beloved husband for 52 years of the late Mary, and cherished father of Vela Angelidis and Tanya (Chris) Bunda. Devoted Detho to Mara, James and the late Robin whom he adored with all of his heart.

To his family and many friends, Danny, or the “Iceman”, as he was affectionately known, will be remembered for his generous heart, his willingness to help anyone in need and the stern but steadfast love he had for those closest to him.

Danny was predeceased by his sisters Lena (Zanko), Fania (Kostas) and Litsa and his brother George (Ivanka). He will be greatly missed by his brother Angelo (Gladys) and his many nieces and nephews.

Private visitation and funeral service to be held at Ogden Funeral Home. The family invites you to join the service via livestream with links available on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
