Zamborsky IreneZAMBORSKY, Irene - It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Irene Zamborsky on April 29, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

Loving Mother of Anthony Camisso (Anne Douglas) and Peri (Sheldon Wiseman) and cherished Mimi of Tao, Micaela and Max.

Irene was predeceased by her big brother Joseph Zamborsky, who we suspect will be welcoming his sister with a bottle (or two) of chilled Pinot Grigio.

Irene was a great mother and an even more wonderful grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she delighted in their every achievement, both big and small. Mimi succeeded in making Tao, Micaela and Max each believe that they were the secret favourite grandchild. In fact, she could make anyone feel like they were the most important person in the room.

A better listener and a bigger heart would be hard to find and these qualities were matched by her unfailing sense of dignity and composure in the face of any challenge that came her way. More than anything, Irene enjoyed a good laugh, and to know her, was to have shared a giggle over just about anything.

We were also impressed with Mom’s great sense of adventure which took her on many adventures all across the world and on multiple annual trips to be with her Banff family where she probably didn’t even notice the mountains because she only had eyes for her grandson Tao!

We will miss spending time with our Mimi at her beloved cabin, where she created a beautiful, warm and welcoming home away from home that was the backdrop for countless delicious meals and celebrations with family and friends. Christmas with her grandchildren was always an over the top and magical affair and her generosity knew no limits when it came to her family. She made it all seem so effortless!

Irene will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Our family would like to extend a very special thank you to Irene’s caregivers; Medy Raquel, Carmen Castro and Elena Palomo, to her palliative care doctors; Dr. Marnie Howe, Dr. Russell Goldman and to the wonderful palliative care nurses at St. Elizabeth’s. We will be eternally grateful for the care and kindness you showed our Mother and Mimi during her final months.

The Zamborsky, Camisso and Wiseman families greatly appreciate your gestures of sympathy and condolences at this very difficult time. Due to the current COVID – 19 restrictions there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation to take place privately. Arrangements and condolences may be left with Jerrett funeral home, St. Clair Chapel.

If desired, donations in Memory of Irene Zamborsky may be made to Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care and Saint Elizabeth Health Care.
